    Those window boxes were beautiful, loved the red Cyclamen. Totally unrelated but , have to say, I love the lipstick color you are wearing, it really brings out your wonderful coloring.

      Oh, thank you! It was chosen for me by a very nice assistant in Boots because I said I'd been wearing the same shade for too long.

    I appreciated the tips for winter planting. It’s important to remember the growing habits of cool season plants and how to correctly space them! The plant selection was spot on and lovely. Lots of good advice packed into your vlog, thanks so much for all of the useful information!

    Loved the plant combinations used. Those barbed wire plants are very interesting and they could be very pretty with frost on them too!

    So wish it were warm enough here in the winter to do some of these things. (5b here in upstate NY.) At least I can watch and drool.

    Practical tips with a complete road map that distinguishes precisely between winter and summer. The soil, watering and design tips really helped. I hadn't even thought about height. Just bought window boxes and deciding the height will save me future headaches. Kudos Thank you!

    Love this! Appreciate seeing you shopping and pulling ideas together. I always love how you teach us by talking through options and ideas. Thank you for sharing this! Currently looking to build the structure and simple color theme that will carry me from Fall to Christmas, in my window boxes! 🍁 🎄🍁🎄🍁🎄

    You look wonderful in red! Thank you for the video, and for Jane. I enjoy her presentations tremendously. I'm in climate US 5A, so no window boxes in winter. But I do have bulbs planted for spring!

    Thank you for all this info--I like to put in the THRILLER (tall, like the golden cypress) and the SPILLER (the ivy) and then the other plants to fill in.

    • @TheMiddlesizedGarden
      @TheMiddlesizedGarden  5 лет назад

      Oh, yes, 'thriller, spiller, filler' is another great container trio rule, which I'd forgotten about so thank you for reminding me.

    Thanks I appreciate the plant suggestions. I must get some cyclamen. I didn’t realize that they were somewhat cold tolerant. Perhaps I can find some eucalyptus. It is so attractive!

    • @TheMiddlesizedGarden
      @TheMiddlesizedGarden  4 года назад +1

      I've looked them up with the Cyclamen Society and apparently not all cyclamen cultivars are absolutely frost hardy. But some are, so just worth checking. They seem to survive OK round here, but we don't often go below minus 3 celsius.

      Thanks I’ll be sure to look for hardy cyclamen. Our weather is similar to yours, but we do get the occasional ice storm here. I’m willing to risk a few plants in the cause of winter cheer! 🎄
