I love Italy and her teams. It's amazing that they always warm up slowly in world cups. Did poorly in group stage, any team can possibly beat them or force a draw. Once in knockout stage, it suddenly became a formidable team that nobody can win it over easily. Italians will give trouble to any team, including Germany and Brazil. :)
Actually finishing 3rd is what gave Italy the easiest path to the final ironically. If they had finished 2nd in their group for example they would have had to face Holland in the 2nd round and then Brazil in the quarter finals.

best team & best venues, the way field patterned kind of unique, the goal net were deeper & didnt attached with something behind it idk it felt glorious when someone scores & camera angles were perfect,nowadays theyre just to close to the field we barely see beautiful passes & lobs from end to end..i wish they do this more often in next world cup

Ireland in 90’s was a good team and very difficult to beat, in Italy 90 reached quarter final and lose only 1-0 against Italy in Usa 94 reached last16 and lose against Netherlands

Italy did give trouble to Germany and Brazil when Italy beat them in the 1982 World Cup and won the Cup.

Amazing how they finished 3rd in their group. All 4 teams finished on 4 pts and same goal difference. The only time in World Cup history.

Ireland were better on the day because Italy underestimated them but overall Italy had the qaulity players....even Brazil only beat them on penalties.
