Someone has asked if the power needs to be switched off before doing this - no it doesn't as you're not doing anything with electricity (similar to when you're cleaning the filters), but if you feel safer switching it off then that's fine!

Thanks for the great video clip, helped me. Where is the pump located in these systems?

Not all these systems have a pump, often it's just a gravity-fed drain like we showed around the 1min mark in the video (can just untape and blow through it both ways), but if it does have a pump there should be a float switch in that same spot. The actual motor part of the pump is usually up in the roof (never under insulation) connected by wires and a 6mm clear hose. Hopefully that helps!

My Mitsubishi heatpump is about 10 years old and was only ever used to heat until l tried to use it on cool last year. Water leaked everywhere and the tech told me as, the unit is some distance from the exterior of the house there was a pump to remove condensate. Quoted about $400 to fix it, sadly not an option on my disability pension. Would this be the same pump you're referring to? It's desperately hot in Christchurch at the moment and would love to be able to use it. Thanks.

If the condensate pump isn't working then they generally cost about $400 to replace - so this could be what he quoted for ... if the pump is the problem then unfortunately cleaning the float switch, which I did in the video, probably won't solve the problem but if you're in a position to clear it out it might be worth a go - it can't hurt!

@@CheaperWaysNZ Thanks so much for the reply. I hadn't really expected you to see the comment. I think cleaning the float switch is worth a crack too. Best case scenario it works. Worst case scenario I'm back where l started, trying to find $400. Got a friend coming to help, hopefully tomorrow. Good to know the price quoted was about right too. Cheers.

I have a Climate Right that is severely leaking inside. We can't use it because of the leak and the weather is hitting 91 plus degree days. Does the Climate right unclip like you just did? I dont know how to get the front off

Hey sorry your comment just popped up now (youtube been doing funny things with our comments!) - not sure if you have it fixed already but unfortunately I've never worked on that model before. It's possible - if you have a multivac (wet/dry vacuum) you might be able to suck it through the outside pipes and clear a possible blockage if you can't get the front off inside. Sorry I couldn't be of more help - we might look at doing a video showing how to do the outside as described if it'll help!

I have a darken on my wall and its leaking water. The tube where the weather is accumulating ends in a very small tube that goes outside. It’s seems obstructed as i cant blow it through. Ideas?

If you can't blow through it it could possibly be kinked (if it's a small clear tube they do kink easily). If that's the case it might be best to call a repair person out to have a look as it could be a few different things.

You didn’t show where the orange and clear drain box came from??? 👎👎👎

At the 2:53 point in the video we show where it is - our particular unit doesn't have one as it's a gravity drain so doesn't need one (so couldn't literally pull one out!) - but for the units that do have one we show where about it is 🙂
