Same here, but then again it makes sense. Though that must have been an interesting conversation, S: I’m going to end the world, join me. T: a’ight bet
“No one is replaceable”. Oscar doesn’t replace Pyrrha… and Monty’s brother may voice Ren following Monty’s death, but that doesn’t mean Monty was replaceable either. God, I love this show.
Every episode in this volume is literally the epitome of: “But wait, it gets worse.” We appreciate you sticking it out despite all the emotional trauma!
@@gh0xttherebel Sorry, but we haven't reached "the thick of it" yet. Yep, RIP chair. If it survives, it will be a huge shock to me. Even if it isn't from punches, I'm sure it will be from you throwing it. lol Continue enjoying the ride.
Cinder and Ruby are such fantastic foils it’s crazy. Cinder and Ruby both wanted to be huntresses at a young age. But the world saddled Cinder with AWFUL circumstances that prevented her from doing such and ended up pushing her in the opposite direction. Ruby on the other hand (from Cinder’s perspective) got it handed to her on a “silver” platter. She got moved up ahead TWO years, and then she got a huntsmen listened even AFTER Cinder destroyed her academy, not to mention she has friends and family who love her. Ruby got EVERYTHING Cinder wanted, and the thing about Ruby is that she’s great at hiding her struggles. So to Cinder it just seems like Ruby is a naive, spoiled little brat that got all the right cards without earning them, whereas Cinder drew the short end of the stick in every way despite how much she tried and struggled. They’re somewhat similar in behavior, too. Even after being told no, Cinder went out to fight the kids. Sound familiar? Ruby and Co were told in seasons 1-3 to stay out of things, but they continued fighting Cinder and her group anyways. Notice how when Ruby disobeys orders to Do Nothing, she ends up succeeding or getting rewarded in some way, but when Cinder does it Salem is cruel and manipulative to her. Circumstance is a bitch isn’t it? Cinder and Ruby are great foils. It’s honestly tragic af. Also it’s just so good how they nailed the cycle of abuse. Cinder was abused by Madame, the step sisters, and Salem, then she repeats those behaviors back to poor Emerald because it gives her back some sense of power. And Salem being momentarily nice to Cinder is a great touch to show just how manipulative she is. A lot of media forget to depict the “kind” side of abusers, the way they will treat you nice and gentle sometimes in order to draw you back in when they realize they’re losing you. I’m glad CRWBY had the wisdom to include that since so many shows and books forget that crucial aspect. Cinder is a great example of the fact that a good character doesn’t have to be a good person. Cinder is EXTREMELY well written, probably one of the best written characters in the show IMO.
Ren unlocking his second part of his semblance as he gets emotional about his team being unable to be replaced, is amazing. Since they never considered Ruby as a replacement for Pyrrha, or Oscar as one either. Pyrrha can't and won't be replaced.
Notice how Cinder ties up her hair the same way Rhodes (the Huntsman). It's a bit of a recurring pattern that oft gets overlooked, but Cinder has a habit of mimicking the people in her life that have had some kind of impact on her. Her depiction in Vols 1-3 is nothing less than a performative imitaton of what she learned from the Madame - conveying yourself like her, high-class ladylike elegance, is how you present yourself as being powerful and in control (and Ruby destroying that facade with her silver eyes is a major factor for why Cinder dispises her - she made her feel weak and helpless again). She needs to feel that strength that they (her abusers and Salem) do, because to her, power = freedom. But it's still just an imitation. It's not really her. With Salem, that behavior comes naturally, as one that has lived for millennia. Not to Cinder though. It's just a performance so she can feel like something that she believes she isn't. Her wardrobe updates have become more and more Salem-like (more muted colors until eventually all black, flowing cape) and even incorporates elements of Pyrhha's design (like the arm band on the opposite side). It's as if Cinder herself has no sense of identity. Have you noticed how her neck is always covered by her outfit or an accessory like a choker? It's meant to hide the electric scars, the biggest physical reminder of her formerly weak self. Also, do you remember the speech Cinder gave over Vale, just as everything went to shit? Recall how it was dripping with disdain and spite towards Huntsman and Huntresses. Because one such huntsman failed to be there for her when she needed it. He told her the only way to deal with the problem was suffer in silence for another 7 years, and was shocked when she couldn't and snapped. Or her dialogue to Winter last volume, suggesting some resentment toward the "Atlas elite". Curious how she loathes them but presents herself in the same manner. Probably because it's just learned behavior for her. I love this backstory, because it doesn't just serve to give her sympathy points, it recontextualizes so much of her past behavior and actions.
I think she mimics them because they are the ones in power and that’s what she wants to be. It’s why she imitates Salem too. She treats Emerald and Mercury like Salem treats the rest of them because she figures that’s how a powerful person treats their subordinates. It’s interesting that Cinder and Salem both have backstories involving a desire for freedom.
So Ren's semblance kicked in when he needed to suppress his emotions. He did, and over time became a person who is uncomfortable addressing his own emotions. It's only when he begins to accept and acknowledge his emotions that he taps into this advanced application of reading others' emotions. It's kind of poetic and a strong message about introspection and self-awareness.
- Gotta love the detail of Cinder's neck having a clear burn from the shock collar, just really ramming home how bad her treatment was - Atlas definitely has a major hubris problem, thinking that they're military and technological might is untouchable. Even with it being shown multiple times it has weaknesses. - Also really telling how Atlas civilians are shown completely unaware of the situation and having picnics. They're that level of coddled and sheltered, while everyone else has been having to suffer the whole time. - The way Ren's semblance evolved is so fitting with his personality - Let the march through dread continue on xD
Fun Fact: The song played during Cinder and Rhodes' fight is called "Awake" and is performed by the band "OK Goodnight" of which Casey is the lead vocalist for.
Ren is the first character to have his semblance evolved. It's so cool, and it just makes me wonder how everyone's semblance evolution would look like.
I would argue it's the first obvious, CONFIRMED evolution we've seen. I think a point could be raised that Ruby's evolved first, from just being fast in Vol 2, to the clear upgrade in Vol 4 on with the way she controls her Petal Burst, up to and including being able to take others along with her like we see at various points with Nora (Vol 4, Ch 1), Weiss (Vol 6, Ch 1) and Weiss, Penny, Blake, and Nora (Vol 8, Ch 3). Not to mention the trick of splitting herself into multiple streams that we see in Vol 7 (in the election episode when she splits into 4 streams and goes around Ren and the pillar he's sitting in front of) and then at the end of Vol 7 when she split into two streams to dodge Ironwood to try to get the warning about martial law out to everyone before he shut down the comms. We could also even argue that Weiss has evolved slightly, since she's now able to cast multiple glyphs at once and summon at the same time (in Vol 7 during one of the training sequences when she's fighting Winter) where before she always had to remain stationary and focused on her summon or it would dissipate.
I think Ren is the first, obvious change that wasn't anticipated. Ruby has her speed turned pseudo-teleportation which happened pretty naturally though a little strange sometimes and Weiss always knew she had the ability to summon at some point. Now we just need to guess who's next. Like what if Jaune can absorb people's aura too, some healers do that. Or guessing what Oscar's ability will be. -
Also we're officially on Night 2 of the Invasion of Atlas. If you remember this started during Jacques's dinner party way back on Night 1 with Clover dying around dawn. We then see the sun setting during Ren and Yang's argument going into Night 2.
Indeed. Though especially since Cinder is the main villain of the series, we might not be entirely done with her backstory yet and may see some more later down the line. It's unlikely, but maybe we'll get a "The Truth: Part II" or something.
I've got a mountain of thoughts between these two episodes in particular but I just want to point out one of the themes that I really like about them: perpetuating cycles. The most obvious of course is Cinder's revealed backstory: with the refrains of 'Without you, I am nothing' and the parallels between the shock collar and the Grimm arm. Cinder is very interesting because she's kind of still in the same place as she was, Salem just knows to dangle the promise of something better with praise and promises to keep Cinder in line while the Madam...just kept shocking Cinder and getting strangled for her trouble when Cinder was able to fight back. It also is really nice to try and figure that Cinder sees herself as the protagonist of her story, because between her belief in destiny, her comment to the madam ("...but because of you, I am everything!") and goading Penny by saying that she's not in control of her actions...well, she said she didn't serve anyone, but she believes her pain and suffering has to end up somewhere better down the line. Salem too has this a little bit if we want to call back to her backstory reveal in Volume 6(?), where she was at first trapped in a tower under order of her father and now she's stuck in an undying state imposed on her by the gods. We see a little of this Winter too with her interactions from the last volume with Penny and Weiss where Winter talks about basically letting Ironwood dictate her actions instead of going with her own thoughts/emotions...kind of like how Jacques likely controlled her and the rest of the Schnees. It's all very fun because we look at all the characters, Weiss and Blake is kind of the only one who figured out to break free from the cycle of abuse due to actually having support.
I agree. Although it's important to point out that Cinder is no fool, she is under no illusions that Salem doesn't care and is just using her, because Cinder feels the exact same way towards Salem. Salem would be a fool to believe that she actually commands any genuine form of loyalty from Cinder; if you torture someone publicly in front of all their hated rivals the same way that their past abusers did, don't expect that they'll suddenly be loyal to you if you pretend to be nice to them afterwards. Cinder never once cared for Salem, and probably hates Salem more than anyone else in history. Cinder's goal the entire series has been to surpass Salem in power and exact vengeance upon her, and given Cinder's past and Salem's abusive treatment of her, I don't blame Cinder. Cinder will not stand for anyone else being above her or stronger than her in any way, and so once she amasses enough magic power by taking those of the Maidens (and some Relics), she will enact her plan to turn on Salem and take her powers too in order to become truly supreme. But for now, Cinder is waiting. Both she and Salem fully intend to betray each other in the end, but the fact remains that both Cinder and Salem still _need_ each other. Salem needs Cinder due to Cinder's status as the Maiden vessel and "the key to [our] victory," and for another reason that will be revealed at the end of this Volume. And Cinder needs Salem to help her obtain the power that she desires (both the powers of the Maidens _and_ the Relics); Salem's resources and power will help Cinder immensely in her quest until Cinder gains enough power to betray and overthrow Salem. Both Cinder and Salem are willing to work with each other for now. The question is however, whose usefulness will run out first, and who will be the first to strike when it does?
@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain i'm not too much of someone to get bogged down too much about the motivations of fictional characters BUT i get where you're coming from, in particular your point that Cinder isn't no dummy. Right off the bat, I agree with for the most part on the first point. Love/acceptance/ect is irrelevant in this situation, because it's not something that Salem would want to or even can give to Cinder. Salem uses the promise of power (and by extension, what Cinder really wants: freedom), which is ultimately the string she pulls in order to get Cinder to follow her plans. When she does not think that's enough for cow Cinder, that's when the tortures come. I don't think the word 'transactional' quiet covers what Cinder's likely viewpoint is, but I think you know what I mean judging by what you said around the end of your comment. What I think Cinder's view is that It's more of a trial for Cinder to endure to get - for her - is her reward, which is much like what Rhodes promised her when he trained her to become a huntress. This reward was the promise of freedom, which Cinder has associated both on her own and by likely reinforcement by Salem. I think a good example of this was Salem's whole...'this is what we fight for speech' after Hazel reported back on Haven. it is not that Salem is even doing things for good reasons, she presents things to her follows in order to get them to believe that she can make or break their aspirations. As for the rest...obviously Cinder's character arc isn't done and I don't quite agree with your interpretation, I do agree that there is going to be a point where Cinder will finally realize that what she wants and what Salem wants are at odds with each other and ends up pulling a Starscream. However I think this doesn't speak of an 'overthrowing' in as much a realignment of what Cinder is willing to do, which I personally like thinking more as a rogue element rather than Salem's usurper. There are some points I want to mention as well, but those come up in later episodes I don't want to spoil anyone for just yet.
In case you were curious, the absolutely amazing song that plays during Cinders fight with the huntsman is a song written by Casey Lee Williams own band instead of Jeff Williams. RUclips recommended it to me like a month before it premiered in V8 and it was already in all my playlists by the time I heard it in the show. I was super shocked and excited to hear it though, and I had no idea it was Casey's band before that lol. Absolute banger.
Salem's plan to take down the shield hinged on Ironwood not caring about Mantle. If he had noticed that river making it's way toward Mantle, then it could've been intercepted.
His military had all their eyes on the horde up in the sky in front of them, they didn’t even notice they were being flanked until it was too late. Its one of the simplest and common strategies in the book and Ironwood didn’t even see it coming, even though he had more than a day to prepare.
That entire opening was an homage to a breakdown of mental health. Truth be told, I saw this coming. And I can see further into the future... but no spoilers for you, my dude. 2:26 - Yes, you did. And when you first said it, I thought the backstory came a lot sooner than this. But ask, and ye shall receive. 😉 3:00 - Look at Ghost, having himself a big day, putting those puzzle pieces together. We're so proud of him. (~ whispers to others ~ We're making him repeat the grade, right?) 🤣 5:27 - This is the pathology of serial killers. For many, their abusive childhood leads to abnormal, violent behavior. 13:38 - Let you in... what, exactly? 21:26 - It's Volume 3 all over again. The slow build to a big disaster. And just like then, Ironwood is doing the exact opposite of the right thing... except THIS time, we're more aware of his megalomania. 22:44 - Okay, I'm annoyed. This doesn't involve you, Ghost. It's the Atlas military. They're lined up in neat rows, effectively limiting their firepower. Only the guns at the front can fire. Everyone else is simply waiting until the people in front of them die. Even the big units - Paladins, I think? They don't fire ordinance in a parabolic arc, only in a straight line. So they're ALSO waiting for the ones in front to go down. It's so DUMB! (I understand that from an animation point of view, lining them up neatly was easier. But that doesn't stop the vaunted Atlas military from looking like a bunch of morons.) 34:04 - "Harriet was an imposter." 🤣🤣🤣 35:13 - Nice sniping, Winter/Ghost. 😉 36:08 - They mentioned earlier that Semblances can continue to grow, so this was a pleasant surprise with Ren. 38:50 - So let me see if I have this straight... "No," was it? Okay, Ghost. As I said at the start, there'll be no spoilers from me. I would like to point out, however, that each volume has been building with intensity. Keeping pace has been your levels of anxiety and general upset. Credit where it's due, the writing pulls you in and refuses to relinquish its hold. ~ pulls out prescription pad and starts scribbling furiously ~ I'm going to recommend a shot of peppermint schnapps for each episode hereafter. Perhaps it will result in fewer "no's". ~ tears off prescription and hands it to Ghost to fill at the nearest liquor store ~ 😁
A shot will definitely not do the work… Make that a bottle per episode🤣🤣 This definitely was a roller coaster yet again of emotions… I literally laughed out loud when you said “we’re holding him back a grade, right?” 🤣 RT definitely don’t let go of the emotional damage immersion that they put the viewers in with the storytelling. The writing is immaculate. Nothing short of it. Even with me just doing two chapters with a week in between to recuperate… It’s like I get transported right back into the intense feeling… Not a lot of shows can do that 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 And I really didn’t capture that initially regarding the formation of the soldiers, but that definitely makes sense to what you said! We are at war y’all! Literally, a giant demon whale is making more demons and y’all are sitting here like “let the Frontline Gold first, and when they die, let the next line go “….HUH?!
Going line by line isn't entirely silly. And it was a popular tactic for extended battles. When the front line gets tired, they fall back, and the second line takes over. Meanwhile, those in back have the max time to rest and recover strength before they have to fight again.
@@gh0xttherebel The bottle will come in handy. But do keep it in check for the finale, because we need you alive for when V9 finally comes out. Ya´ know, to suffer through it together. xD
I like the Cinder story because at first everyone was like "Oh Cinder because she's the fire girl" and we all just accepted that, but then they pulled the double name meaning on us and we get this
Looking at Midnight again, I actually really like how they show Cinder in what backstory we do get. Still curious how Salem found her but that could be coming later. To follow Blake's thing of one-word summaries of people, I think Cinder would be "feral".
"Feral" is an interesting one. There are quite a few single words to summarise Cinder, including but not limited to: "rage", "greed", "envy", "megalomania", "cruelty", and "hatred" (especially since Cinder herself refers to herself as *_"hate incarnate"_* in her theme song, "When It Falls". But yeah, especially since Cinder is the main villain of the series, I expect that we may get more of her backstory some time in the future as the show goes on.
19:00 To be fair, the Atlas shield generators were protected by a shield that covered the wntire bottom of Atlas. If you'll remember, it took a moment for the stream of Grimm to overcome that part of the shield.
Once again, it's so good to bring you closer to the level of emotional damage that the rest of us suffer from. Excellent edits, I'll never get tired of them. I can't wait for the rest of this volume and the new volume to come!
The fact that the people of Atlas were able to just chill in the park and go on with their everyday routines like nothing was absolutely going on and that they had nothing to fear, just shows how sheltered they were. That's not the kind of people this world currently needs. Granted, if they were the militarize all civilians (which they should at this point) 70% minimum would die within the first battle. But I would rather at least ten thousand standing beside me instead me protecting the ten thousand behind me. The only way humanity survives is if all hands are on deck for this. People can't afford the luxury of being civilians anymore. Especially when children are the ones on the front lines in this conflict. That more than anything is what would infuriate me. These survivors need to develop the Gears of War mentality and realize that they must fight. It's fight or die time.
Fun Fact: The song is called Awake by OK Goodnight. A band that Casey Lee Williams is the lead singer of. The first time her band is featured in RWBY instead of just her and her dad.
well at least you can continue with chapter 8 immediately. when it launched this was half way volume "finale" with a massive break of i believe 6 or 8 weeks between chapter 7 and 8 😅
Comment part 2: The events and relevancy of Cinder's backstory (and my possibly reaching EmMerc hopes) aside, poor Oscar and Oz. My poor farm boi is being god damn tortured! D'X ...I mean, he's taking it like a champ and already plotting how to use it to his advantage because of course he is, Oscar is apparently the most emotionally resilient person on the entire damn planet, but its still so damn upsetting to see him all covered in bruises and KNOWING he could've switched out with Oz to feel less pain but that he actively chose not to because 'then Hazel will hurt us worse'. Just. It's so screwed up TT_TT And then there's Oz. You were saying he sounded calm but what he's actually saying most of the time is stuff like 'let me be tortured in your place', 'YES Hazel I deserve it, but does-' Oz no! You do not deserve to be tortured! Yes, you've screwed up plenty of times (pretty badly no less) and yes, Oscar is going through a lot because of you -well its more the God of Light's fault really- but dude, please, don't listen to what Salem and her lot have been telling you over and over as they hurt you! Hearing what, to me at least, sounds like years of learned helplessness and self hatred coming to the surface while he's still desperately trying to question and appeal to Hazel's morality is just..! ...I keep imagining how many other times Oz might've been captured by Salem and the sorts of things she might've done to him and it's just very very horrifying to think about for long (like Adam and Blake but over centuries and the 'Blake' of this situation can't ever kill or escape the 'Adam' DX). Awful as the situation for them is, I do really like seeing Oscar and Oz finally getting on the same wave length and working together to chip away at Hazel's psyche. Oz's words hit so hard now that he'd dropped the lies and Oscar's master play at the end there..! Seeing your 'WTF!?! Oh. OHHHH SNAP' reaction to Oscar's sheer gall, outright using the password for the lamp as the final blow for subverting Salem's control over the *guy currently torturing him* for it had me grinning my head off (farm boi is most gutsy, brave, kind boi and I will never not be in admiration for him
I actually don't see the problem with Ironwood's plan here. Monstra is making Grimm faster than the Atlas military can kill them, regardless of whether or not the Ace Ops help out there. So the only way they can win is by destroying Monstra, and since its armour is too strong to be damaged from the outside, blowing it up on the inside where it's weaker is the logical (and correct) decision. And who better than the Ace Ops to handle this top-priority mission? We see that the Ace Ops actually do help on the front lines fending off the Grimm until the bomb can be dropped off at their location, but they would have only been delaying the inevitable if they couldn't get Monstra to be blown up from the inside (and of course they'd get out before it explodes, this isn't a suicide mission). The reason why soldiers are on the ground and not on the walls is because the army needs to push forward to reach Monstra so they can invade it and take it down (because again, the Grimm hordes won't end until they take the spawner down), but when progress on that stalled, Ironwood came up with the bomb tactic. Also, the only reason he is now evacuating citizens is because the hard-light shields had only just dropped. There was no sense in stirring up a panic before the Grimm hordes could even reach them, so if the citizens didn't know the full severity of the situation (which I don't see how they wouldn't since the Atlas Eye news station has been updating them), there was no point in worrying them prematurely. So all things considered, Ironwood's plan was probably the best one they could possibly have under these circumstances.
But see with Atlas that part was under the shield, Salem overloaded it and took that part down to attack the shield system. It’s not like they were prepared for a river of grimm, let alone even know it was possible.
I see you’ve reached the point of… I want to press play… but I’m also terrified! By the way after this episode we had to wait three months because they were behind production due to the pandemic. The step sisters are voiced by Amalee who you might be familiar with, through their cover work. The purpose of the Cinder back story is to make you understand why she’s the way she is. She treats everyone and everything like tools because that’s the way she’s been treated. She’s never been on the receiving end of love, or empathy, so there’s not a huge surprise she would be incapable of it herself. She’s genuinely shocked when Mercury tells her shes no longer in charge of him but doesn’t understand or know how to take it. When Tyrian is the one sounding like the voice of reason you know things have gotten… weird… although you have to admit it’s pretty funny for him to accuse others of being crazy. It seems that Clover isn’t the first time the Ace Ops lost a member because Harriet points out Marrow was a replacement for Tortuga… which is Spanish for turtle. That might mean something since Harriet is the hare. I want to point out something rather clever CRWBY does in this episode: when Ren stands up and says “no one is replaceable” it works on several levels. Inside the show, keep in mind that Jaune, Ren, and Nora all lost a team member and nobody could take Pyrrha’s place. But there’s also a deeper connotation. CRWBY sent a message without sending one because they’re also talking about Monty. Nobody could replace what he did and no one would dream of trying. It’s impossible. They all are just simply trying to do the very best they can in his absence. It’s also nice that Monty’s brother is the one they gave the line to, so it works on three different levels. Remember to do 8-10, next, don’t break sooner or later considering it’s a “bookmark spot.” 11-14 can be done in two batches if two or one batch of four. The play button beckons…. But what’s worse is the wait when you’re caught up.
So, fun little detail about Episode 6. The name of the episode, Midnight, is the name of Cinder's weapon that she used prior to transitioning to full Maiden powers where she creates her weapons out of the dust in the air via her semblance and magic.
I couldn't wait till the night shift, I had to watch this episode early lol you're holding together well friend! The song during Cinder's fight with her mentor is Casey's band and it is SO FIRE! Literally my FAVORITE SONG!!! THIS SOUNDTRACK IS SO GOOD!
20:50 The Jellyfish Grimm flanking the Whale are called the Tempests. They created the lightning storm covering the Grimm Horde. They're literally the bigger and more powerful version of Seer Grimm. You'll see them destroying the Atlesian Airships in later episodes. Even though Ironwood is trying to stay focused and to contain his fears, he's gradually losing his mind. Winter (despite her mixed emotions) and Vine staying calm during the stressful situation is pretty impressive. RT knows how to hurt the viewers every time an episode ends. They really had to choose Penny 🥲
and now my favorite song in the OST(and in general) appears, Awake. A little this with the lyrics they do, right when Casey sings "take my hand and take my life" Rhodes(Cinder's teacher) puts his hand out to Cinder and she stabs him in the stomach killing him
I believe that Cinder wants to be feared. Add on: judging from her backstory, my only assumption is that she learned that to get what she wants she has to be stronger, to over power her enemies. Thats why she acted so soft yet cruel in volume 1-3till Ruby silver eyed her ass to the shadow realm. After that she just wanted more power so she can be imposing to everyone.
The edetings gets better and better, and thank you again for making another rewatch run for me so entertaining by showing your honest reactions, i love seeing people react to the show i fall in love with the day it came out
Oh it be list time~! 1. And the horse final crosses the finish line on the Cinder-Ella. Don't worry I've seen others take about that long with the name. 2. Very perceptive of Cinder in having constant neglect and abuse but that that small dose of hope from the training sprinkled randomly. Was really like cleaning a big wound with just a small bandage and it finally just not workin anymore and finding the quickest method to fix it. 3. Tyrian fills in that role every villain team needs the one who just full bore "HELL YEAH BLOW UP THE PLANET WOO!!" just havin the time of their life lol. 4. Ren semblance level up is a very cool bit. I think i could do more but I will stop there cuz I will say now that one of these lists will be HEAVY sometime soon for me could be next time could be a bit farther in I won't say. Gonna try and get mentally ready for that. Another fun session go hug something cuddly to balance out the stress and I'll catch next time~
The Cinder-Ella thing kinda hit full swing this time Lmao Like, I knew of whom she was referring to early on, but didn’t know the backstory yet. So when we finally got the backstory, and the name reference came up again… It just hit different. Like, wow…there it is 🤯
Although it's not really a justification, just think about it: Cinder had a fucking shock collar at the age of 10. As far as I'm aware, that's illegal in all civilized countries that I can think of. That can really fuck someone up mentally and emotionally. Rhodes wasn't really as much help as some people think he was. He was giving her combat training while allowing the child abuse to continue. The World of Remnant about Huntsmen established that Huntsmen were above law enforcement and even above military, so if he saw a wrong and recognized it, he could have taken the necessary steps to end it instead of turning her into a killer while allowing her motives to build up. While it's not clear what the law is in Atlas or the rest of Remnant, as someone who has been established as being above law fucking enforcement he could have done much more than what he did. Also, when he saw that Cinder had killed the Madam, instead of going straight to try to take her down, he could have offered more alternatives, i.e.: turn herself in and with his testimony, allow her to be free with the self-defense card that it most likely was, and then help her start her life over with better guidance, but noooooo, he just had to fuck with her trust issues. He gets points for recognizing that she was being wronged, but that's it.
The fight of Cinder vs her mentor is the first appearance of Caseys solo band, OK Goodnight. Killer music that you should check out on the side. Also, shes still a total psycho, it is just that she has trauma instead of just doing it for no reason.
Indeed, Cinder is an amoral psychopath, but at least now we understand why she is that. Like Ozpin said in the Volume 7 finale when Cinder came onscreen: *_"Will you understand why they felt the need to do the things they did?"_*
The way Ren's semblance leveled up is one of the most elegant and hype developments of the whole volume. People make fun of Empaths, but used the right way they're quite powerful. There's so much excellent character development in this volume, and it's all built up and been earned. RWBY has its flaws, but its heart and soul are so tremendous. The show is made with so much love. And the next volume looks like it's going to be a character development heavy volume to boot. Whitley's flinch is heartbreaking every time.
Nice reaction. I think you are handling this well. I was even more on edge and angry I think. I would get a little sick every week when I hit that play button.
RENNNNN!! IT WAS ABOUT DAMN TIME FOR OUR BOY TO GET AN UPGRADE! And it's SO good for his character, after YEARS of repressing his emotions to keep himself and everyone around him safe he's finally getting the chance to let himself FEEL and ugh. I love him Also if you want EMOTIONAL, just think of that line "No one is replaceable" and how different it hits when you remember that Ren's VA original VA was Monty and he's now voiced by his brother Neath after Monty's passing in 2015
a detail i love about the rhodes vs cinder fight is that rhodes aura seems unusually weak here, but when you remember aura can be defined by your emotions, it makes sense: he *didn't* want to fight cinder. and he shouldnt have i think, he should've just gotten her out of there asap after seeing her conditions, but he was more concerned with doing whats legal than whats right. thats a theme with atlas, ive noticed, people are more concerned with following the system than doing whats right
Bro I think I have the same Reach semblance as you slightly because as soon as you said "But most importantly..." At 1:30 I straight up said "Let me in." And that appeared on the screen.
"Like Marrow replaced Tortuga, and Winter replaced- (Clover)" OUO Tortuga? Like, the Tortoise? In the Tortoise and the Hare, Harriet? 0u0 This is honestly all I've got, I'm just as wrapped up and immersed as you are and everyone's already said the stuff. lol
No matter how much it hurts, Gh0xt… no matter how much it hurts, keep moving FORWARD. I sort of feel like you need to get a plushy or something to hug. Maybe you can get a Zwei plushy
Fun fact, the Cinder backstory was originally planned for Volume 5 but kept getting pushed back. Hell, for Volume 8, it was planned for Chapter 1 but was pushed back to Chapter 6. Edit: Also, if you liked Volume 6 chapter 6 "Alone In The Woods" then you'll love Volume 8 Chapter 8 "Dark". Then again, maybe not. Edit 2: In regards to Ren's semblance, and how it's evolved, I very much like that it's tied to his personality and his backstory. He got in semblance when his emotions were overwhelming him and he was able to mask them. He effectively blocked them out, hid them just under the surface. But he never stopped feeling them. No, instead, he kept masking them. He just learned how to do it on his own, rather than with his semblance. I mean, he's an introvert. As an introvert myself, I can relate to that a lot. And now the evolution of his semblance allows him to see the emotions everyone else buries under the surface, as well as his own. He's spent so long doing the same that he knows when other people are doing it. And because he's always feeling emotions, he knows what other people are feeling as well. I think this could have led to a really interesting conversation between him and Nora at some point, but they don't ever take advantage of it. They do have a conversation, but it's nowhere near as deep or impactful as it should have been. It doesn't help that all the writers on RWBY are pretty extroverted and can't write introverts all that well. Or they were just more focused on developing Nora and not Ren, which is a possibility. I believe the conversation happens in Chapter 10. So you may or may not have seen it at this point. Anyway, I just thought it was interesting and wanted to point it out. I do, however, like that they had Ren blow up earlier in the Volume. When you bottle up so much shit and never desl with it, the smallest thing can make it all come out at once, and it's not fun. It can do major damage to friendships. It's probably the most interesting thing they've done with Ren's character in the entire show.
@@Savannah_Simpson If it was in volume 5, the volume would've been more bloated than it already was. Though it would be the third good thing in the volume, the other two being the Raven/Spring Maiden reveal, and the Raven/Cinder fight.
I actually have no issue with Cinder's backstory being pushed back this far. Not only has RT been able to learn from mistakes made over that period, but Cinder's backstory is depicted in better animation, and the relevant songs were able to have been sung by a much-improved Casey Lee Williams and her new band Ok Goodnight. Not to mention the fact that it also makes complete sense why her backstory first came while in Atlas, as that's where her trauma mainly comes from. And perhaps more importantly than all that, it also provides fuel to the plot point of Cinder's rapidly growing hatred of Salem and thus her future betrayal of Salem - the parallels between her slavemaster's (Madame’s) treatment of her during her childhood to Salem's treatment of her currently is really well done, and provides further motivation and foreshadowing for Cinder to turn against Salem and seize all the power for herself. They couldn't have gone this route if they had just shoved her backstory in during Volume 4 and/or 5. So ultimately, the unexpected delays turned out for the best.
Episode 6: The episode that's meant to give context to Cinder's motives but not excuse her actions. Rhodes is kind of the definition of what the other Councilman said last volume. What people intend and what they do aren’t always the same thing. Rhodes thought he was helping. But I don’t know what he expected to happen when he taught a girl that was being abused (though he most likely didn’t know the extent of it) how to fight. He really just expected her to hang in there for seven more years, while he came and went about his life. Not to mention, he frequently visits and establishment that doesn’t allow Faunus. … A product of Atlas indeed. An interesting detail is that when the sisters come running in to tell the Madame about the sword the curly haired one is like “cool Cinder’s about to get in trouble” while the other is legitimately concerned and scared. I like how this episode also just shows the constant cycle of abuse. Madame and Salem to Cinder to Emerald. Although Salem is smart enough to sprinkle in kindness and understanding so that Cinder doesn’t completely turn on her. Which is just typical abusive behavior. Atlas has a tendency to do the whole "you take out one the whole system shuts down." They did it with the CCT and they do it with all of their shields. Oz mentioned it was poetic in the WOR but it's also just not a smart design choice. Episode 7: The sheer scale of Monstra is kind of amazing. She's just so huge. The fact that Atlas was having a picnic while the people in Mantle have been fighting for their lives for days now.... really just says everything about this kingdom. The shot of Salem orchestrating all the Grimm is just.... *chef's kiss* Imagine telling a remaining member of Team JNPR that everyone is replaceable. "I outrank you." The delivery. Yes ma'am. And this was where the hiatus was for us. Yikes.
As fragmented , imperfect beings, yours is a never-ending quest A quest to find your purpose, knowing your end is assured To find the strength to continue , when all strength has left you To find joy, even as darkness descends And amidst deepest despair , light everlasting Not from RWBY, but it fits, I think
Here we go!! My thoughts on Cinder's backstory: Yes, of course, I feel sorry for Cinder, the child. I wouldn't wish this on anyone...except for the adults who do this to the children they're supposed to care for. However, with the passage of time and many (many) rewatches; this feels like a villain origin story to me. Which, obviously it is, but I feel like 'they' want you to pity present-day Cinder. I can't do that. This cinder has done too much 💩 and REVELLED in it for me to feel sorry for her now. Little girl Cinder, yes. she gets ALL the hugs and shoulders to cry on but, this Cinder that we met at the beginning of the show. No. Nah. Nope. Terrrraaaassshhhuh. BTW I agree. The music during Cinder and Rhodes's (I think that's his name) fight is so good. 12:34 - Listen to him Em. He's right...for once... Ugh... Poor Oscar... On the topic of the shield. They weren't there to witness that... But they know now.😅 37:58 - Just so you know: Weiss genuinely thought Whitley was a lost cause (acting just as ruthless and uncaring as their father). His doing this just proved to her he isn't. BTW When you have a moment research Fight, Flight, and Fawn trauma responses (by research I mean watch some RUclips vids). This applies to Winter, Weiss, and Whitley and understanding who they are/were in this family dynamic. Winter = Flight | Weiss = Fight | Whitley = Fawn Onto This week's vid!
I think I’ll keep this one brief, too. I can say a lot about Cinder, but I think the best way to sum up her backstory is, cool motive, still murder. If I was being very, very generous, I could accept killing the Madam was self-defence, if she didn’t kill the unarmed “step-sisters” first, and then slowly choke the Madam all while still wearing that damn collar. Cinder was strong enough to resist the collar, therefore those three were no longer a threat to her, but she killed them anyway. It wasn’t about freedom, she was establishing her place above them. The one with all the power gets to be on top and do whatever they want to the people beneath them, or so Cinder seems to believe. As for Rhodes, he was far better than Cinder could have possibly hoped for. Most people who would choose to go to a hotel like that would not have given her a second glance. Ironwood may care about Atlas, but not the people living in it. He had a whole day to get the people in the upper city into shelters, if any even existed, but instead those people seemed completely oblivious to the crises their Kingdom was facing. By the gods, some of them were even having picnics as the Grimm were breaking through. We don’t see it, but people did die as they were running in a panic to get into the subway. One person trips and they get trampled to death by the crowds or caught by the Grimm. If they got pushed or tripped while going down the stairs, the fall alone could kill them. It’s a loss of life that could have easily been avoided, but apparently no one in the Atlas military actually values life, even if its the people they supposedly exist to protect. I feel for the girls and the position they’ve been put in. The situation should not be as bad as it is, the Huntsmen of Mantle and the military should have been cooperating together so they could at least have a more united defence, but Ironwood allowed his paranoia and bruised ego to get the better of him and now he refuses to work with anyone. Worse, he chose to abandon his own responsibilities, and abandon any principles he had, so now he is capable of anything. Locking up Huntsmen, shooting Councilmen, and you’ll see soon enough what he had Watts do to Penny. He has destroyed any hope he could be trusted again.
I still find it absolutely hilarious that Tyrian was the only one of the villains who fully knew what he was getting himself into
Same here, but then again it makes sense.
😭😭😭😭
Every episode in this volume is literally the epitome of: “But wait, it gets worse.”
We appreciate you sticking it out despite all the emotional trauma!
I don't think his chair is gonna survive this volume
We’re into the thick of it
@@gh0xttherebel Sorry, but we haven't reached "the thick of it" yet.

Weiss: "Now we can go back to calling you Whitley."
Whitley: "Wait what did you call me before?"
Damn right.
😭😭😭🍁💔
Ren's abilities are dope af
Honestly! So handy
I love his tone when he calls out Marrow before they leave the airship. He delivers it so well
Notice how Cinder ties up her hair the same way Rhodes (the Huntsman).
That is... wow. I think that might be the most insightful read on Cinder's character I've ever seen. Bravo! I think you nailed it!
@@ryanedgerton1982 honestly some of this I picked up from other people on here. small youtubers and the like
I think she mimics them because they are the ones in power and that’s what she wants to be. It’s why she imitates Salem too. She treats Emerald and Mercury like Salem treats the rest of them because she figures that’s how a powerful person treats their subordinates.
It’s interesting that Cinder and Salem both have backstories involving a desire for freedom.
@@RectPropagation yeah that's basically what I was getting at, just more streamlined. you could write a short essay about this tbh
@@RectPropagation may be that why Salem so interest and torareat in Cinder
Penny is such a pure soul, she even apologized for the episode ending.

Hands down!
Weiss: "Did you call anyone else?"
Me: "Here comes the pain..."
Is that Brock Lensar?!
@@gh0xttherebel I think it was actually Tazz who first said that, but I should have said emotional pain
And we were left on that cliffhanger for months while the season went on break. Also, next episode is Episode 100!
🤯🤯🤯 really?!
- Gotta love the detail of Cinder's neck having a clear burn from the shock collar, just really ramming home how bad her treatment was
- Atlas definitely has a major hubris problem, thinking that they're military and technological might is untouchable. Even with it being shown multiple times it has weaknesses.
- Also really telling how Atlas civilians are shown completely unaware of the situation and having picnics. They're that level of coddled and sheltered, while everyone else has been having to suffer the whole time.
- The way Ren's semblance evolved is so fitting with his personality
- Let the march through dread continue on xD
Horrible. Just…horrible.
Fun Fact: The song played during Cinder and Rhodes' fight is called "Awake" and is performed by the band "OK Goodnight" of which Casey is the lead vocalist for.
🔥🔥🔥
Ruby's is definitely an evolution but I'd argue Weiss' is just the "muscle" strengthening as Winter put it in V3
Ruby did it back in V4C1 too.
@@megansaunders3579 Bear in mind that Ruby splitting herself occurred during the Volume 4 trailer. So V7 wasn't the first time we saw her do that.
This fact always blows my mind even when I'm already aware of it. It's crazy how much happens in 2-3 days.
My gosh
I really wish there was a longer version of "The Truth" (Cinder's chore song), always loved it.
Same here
🤯🤯🤯🤯😭😭
Were getting dangerously close to the chairpocalypse 😅. Stay strong my chair brethren
Chair brethren… are you perhaps an oath sibling?
In case you were curious, the absolutely amazing song that plays during Cinders fight with the huntsman is a song written by Casey Lee Williams own band instead of Jeff Williams. RUclips recommended it to me like a month before it premiered in V8 and it was already in all my playlists by the time I heard it in the show. I was super shocked and excited to hear it though, and I had no idea it was Casey's band before that lol. Absolute banger.
yeah Awake is the song, and its probably my favorite song as of now. I love it
I cannot wait to hear it! Probably the most anticipated song I’d want to hear off the soundtrack
3:00 - Look at Ghost, having himself a big day, putting those puzzle pieces together. We're so proud of him. (~ whispers to others ~ We're making him repeat the grade, right?) 🤣
5:27 - This is the pathology of serial killers.
But that doesn't stop the vaunted Atlas military from looking like a bunch of morons.)
34:04 - "Harriet was an imposter." 🤣🤣🤣
35:13 - Nice sniping, Winter/Ghost. 😉
36:08 - They mentioned earlier that Semblances can continue to grow, so this was a pleasant surprise with Ren.
A shot will definitely not do the work… Make that a bottle per episode🤣🤣
This definitely was a roller coaster yet again of emotions… I literally laughed out loud when you said “we’re holding him back a grade, right?” 🤣
RT definitely don’t let go of the emotional damage immersion that they put the viewers in with the storytelling. The writing is immaculate. Nothing short of it. Even with me just doing two chapters with a week in between to recuperate… It’s like I get transported right back into the intense feeling… Not a lot of shows can do that
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
And I really didn’t capture that initially regarding the formation of the soldiers, but that definitely makes sense to what you said!
@@gh0xttherebel You're defiantly going to need a bottle next episode. To celebrate RWBY's hundredth episode! 🎉🎊

I like the Cinder story because at first everyone was like "Oh Cinder because she's the fire girl" and we all just accepted that, but then they pulled the double name meaning on us and we get this
Well she always been match to Cinderella with a lot of stuff, but here she doesnt get her happy ending
🤯
I would've preferred we got her back story after her defeat at Haven. At this point it feels to late for me to care.
Looking at Midnight again, I actually really like how they show Cinder in what backstory we do get. Still curious how Salem found her but that could be coming later. To follow Blake's thing of one-word summaries of people, I think Cinder would be "feral".
Ooooooooooo
"Feral" is an interesting one. There are quite a few single words to summarise Cinder, including but not limited to: "rage", "greed", "envy", "megalomania", "cruelty", and "hatred" (especially since Cinder herself refers to herself as *_"hate incarnate"_* in her theme song, "When It Falls".
But yeah, especially since Cinder is the main villain of the series, I expect that we may get more of her backstory some time in the future as the show goes on.
Whitley's redemption always brings me to tears.
That intro was amazing, some might say it was MAGNIFICENT... Good job!
Love your reactions!
✨ MAGNIFICENT
Tyrian said “I’m gonna bully this touch starved teenager ✨so hard✨” for literally no reason whatsoever re: Mercury
Ren’s growth is something that I love from this season and last
19:00
To be fair, the Atlas shield generators were protected by a shield that covered the wntire bottom of Atlas.
☺️
i love the way weiss pulled whitley closer after she heard the crash
If we just pulled all your reactions without the video it'd look like a documentary on getting possessed
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
well at least you can continue with chapter 8 immediately. when it launched this was half way volume "finale" with a massive break of i believe 6 or 8 weeks between chapter 7 and 8 😅
Treacherous
@@gh0xttherebel agreed 🤣
Comment part 2:
The events and relevancy of Cinder's backstory (and my possibly reaching EmMerc hopes) aside, poor Oscar and Oz.
My poor farm boi is being god damn tortured! D'X
...I mean, he's taking it like a champ and already plotting how to use it to his advantage because of course he is, Oscar is apparently the most emotionally resilient person on the entire damn planet, but its still so damn upsetting to see him all covered in bruises and KNOWING he could've switched out with Oz to feel less pain but that he actively chose not to because 'then Hazel will hurt us worse'. Just. It's so screwed up TT_TT
And then there's Oz.
Oh. OHHHH SNAP' reaction to Oscar's sheer gall, outright using the password for the lamp as the final blow for subverting Salem's control over the *guy currently torturing him* for it had me grinning my head off (farm boi is most gutsy, brave, kind boi and I will never not be in admiration for him
So. Much. Emotional. Damage
PROTECT THE FARM BOY!!!!
My boi ghost losing it
I totally forgot that Ren's semblance evolved until I rewatched it here
same
So, fun little detail about Episode 6. The name of the episode, Midnight, is the name of Cinder's weapon that she used prior to transitioning to full Maiden powers where she creates her weapons out of the dust in the air via her semblance and magic.
Wowzers
I couldn't wait till the night shift, I had to watch this episode early lol you're holding together well friend! The song during Cinder's fight with her mentor is Casey's band and it is SO FIRE! Literally my FAVORITE SONG!!! THIS SOUNDTRACK IS SO GOOD!
I literally can’t wait to hear it in full! 🔥
The beginning and end were peak editing and entertainment!
I really like that zoom out from Salem to Monstra beaching itself on Atlas Island.
Yup! This is the first (confirmed) evolution of a Semblance in the show. Ren's power, his very soul, is evolving.
Imagine what else is possible.
🤔🤯
16:27 Yeah, so... Mercury got a promotion.
... Con- ... gratuations ... ?
It’s temporary, cuz the world will blow up ¯\_( ಠ_ಠ)_/¯
This has been the best reaction series to RWBY I have had the pleasure of keeping up with.
🥹🙏🏽🖤🔥
Good job, Rhodes. Real expemplary huntsman work. You really saved the day
20:50 The Jellyfish Grimm flanking the Whale are called the Tempests.
A little this with the lyrics they do, right when Casey sings "take my hand and take my life" Rhodes(Cinder's teacher) puts his hand out to Cinder and she stabs him in the stomach killing him
The intricate finesse
Now you know what would happen if the Fairy Godmother had said, "I can help you get revenge on them all."
Ren leveling up his semblence was fricking epic
I have to admit it also took me till volume 8 to put together “CINDERella”
The edetings gets better and better, and thank you again for making another rewatch run for me so entertaining by showing your honest reactions, i love seeing people react to the show i fall in love with the day it came out
☺️🙏🏽🖤✨
Another fun session go hug something cuddly to balance out the stress and I'll catch next time~
The Cinder-Ella thing kinda hit full swing this time Lmao
Like, I knew of whom she was referring to early on, but didn’t know the backstory yet.
Oh damn, Harriett flying into space was the funniest graphic.
🤣🤣🤣
39:20. Notice how Clien's eyes changed colors depending on the situation!
Dude I am just gonna commend your editing holy crap
Thank you 😭
The fight of Cinder vs her mentor is the first appearance of Caseys solo band, OK Goodnight. Killer music that you should check out on the side.
Also, shes still a total psycho, it is just that she has trauma instead of just doing it for no reason.
Indeed, Cinder is an amoral psychopath, but at least now we understand why she is that. Like Ozpin said in the Volume 7 finale when Cinder came onscreen:
*_"Will you understand why they felt the need to do the things they did?"_*
People making fun of empaths, need a hug.
Gh0st. My friend. Hang in there man. Everybody told you this season was IT.
You got this.
Nice reaction. I think you are handling this well. I was even more on edge and angry I think. I would get a little sick every week when I hit that play button.
dude i fucking love your editing style. every intro is gold and i almost cry laughing every time. 0:53 absolutely destroyed me 🙂
😭🤣✨
So here's an interesting fun fact. Episode 6 ends the "tame half" of the volume. CRWBY's words, not mine.
I thought it was episode 7 that marked the end of the tame half
Pain.
33:57 HAHAHAH MANNNN THIS CAUGHT ME OFFGUARD. You are super underrated as a content creator
🤣🤣thank you
One of my favorite edits !
RENNNNN!! IT WAS ABOUT DAMN TIME FOR OUR BOY TO GET AN UPGRADE! And it's SO good for his character, after YEARS of repressing his emotions to keep himself and everyone around him safe he's finally getting the chance to let himself FEEL and ugh. I love him
Also if you want EMOTIONAL, just think of that line "No one is replaceable" and how different it hits when you remember that Ren's VA original VA was Monty and he's now voiced by his brother Neath after Monty's passing in 2015
Naw….to the crying corner I go
Ren be like gonna make a call out post for the ace ops
a detail i love about the rhodes vs cinder fight is that rhodes aura seems unusually weak here, but when you remember aura can be defined by your emotions, it makes sense: he *didn't* want to fight cinder. and he shouldnt have i think, he should've just gotten her out of there asap after seeing her conditions, but he was more concerned with doing whats legal than whats right. thats a theme with atlas, ive noticed, people are more concerned with following the system than doing whats right
25:14 Salem doing her best Chrollo impression...
19:32 This scene straight up feels like Ghostbusters 2!!!! I love it 😈😈😈
I have to watch the movie again
lol This poor man.
Stay strong, bud. You’re halfway through.
We gotta Keep on Keeping on…
Here we go... I went out to dinner yesterday so I couldn't watch it, but now it's a fun vid to watch during lunch!! So excited!!!
Ren's semblance is proving to be one of the most OP of all time.
Just for funzies you should listen to Emotional Pain - Thumpasaurus right now.
No reason in particular..
This season destroyed all of us. Gods I need a hug rewatching this.
Bro I think I have the same Reach semblance as you slightly because as soon as you said "But most importantly..." At 1:30 I straight up said "Let me in." And that appeared on the screen.
🤣🤣🤣
Oh man...i want to say so many things...
As the series continues to get more intense, my desire to see your reactions increases as well!
"Like Marrow replaced Tortuga, and Winter replaced- (Clover)"
OUO Tortuga? Like, the Tortoise? In the Tortoise and the Hare, Harriet? 0u0
This is honestly all I've got, I'm just as wrapped up and immersed as you are and everyone's already said the stuff. lol
No matter how much it hurts, Gh0xt… no matter how much it hurts, keep moving FORWARD.
I sort of feel like you need to get a plushy or something to hug. Maybe you can get a Zwei plushy
Yes. He needs something to hug
Maybe we start a go fund me or some shit for a zewi plushy, then send it to him? I’d help pay for that
I have one!
Pity I might have actually cared if it had been volume 5. Then again probably not.
@@Savannah_Simpson If it was in volume 5, the volume would've been more bloated than it already was. Though it would be the third good thing in the volume, the other two being the Raven/Spring Maiden reveal, and the Raven/Cinder fight.
@@Savannah_Simpson Oh look a loser
Such a great observation. So unique and cool for Ren
Great reaction my dude! This season is insane
The only part of this video that sucks is that we have to wait a week for the next one😁😁😁😁
always such good edititing in you'r vids. Awesome work
Thank you ☺️🙏🏽
Order that electric chainsaw now, cause chair isn't going to survive :)
Dude, do you have a Patreon with early episode releases - I’m dying to see your reaction to the rest of these episodes 😂
I do! patreon.com/gh0xttherebel
We got to wait weeks for the best episode after this one during the live release. I’m so thankful you don’t have to deal with that pain
But I will…soon 😭
@@gh0xttherebel honey you got a big storm coming. No pun intented
Salem is one of my favorite big bads in a while. She's evil for the sake of evil. No morally gray area, just pure "destroy the world"
Episode 6: The episode that's meant to give context to Cinder's motives but not excuse her actions.
*chef's kiss*
Imagine telling a remaining member of Team JNPR that everyone is replaceable.
"I outrank you." The delivery. Yes ma'am.
And this was where the hiatus was for us. Yikes.
The pain. Has levels
(Rubbing hands gleefully) Next episode is going to be good...
As fragmented , imperfect beings, yours is a never-ending quest
A quest to find your purpose, knowing your end is assured
To find the strength to continue , when all strength has left you
To find joy, even as darkness descends
And amidst deepest despair , light everlasting
Not from RWBY, but it fits, I think
I like it
The rollercoaster ride of a sad lifetime! 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃
Here we go!!
My thoughts on Cinder's backstory:
Yes, of course, I feel sorry for Cinder, the child.
But they know now.😅
37:58 - Just so you know: Weiss genuinely thought Whitley was a lost cause (acting just as ruthless and uncaring as their father). His doing this just proved to her he isn't.
BTW When you have a moment research Fight, Flight, and Fawn trauma responses (by research I mean watch some RUclips vids). This applies to Winter, Weiss, and Whitley and understanding who they are/were in this family dynamic.
Winter = Flight | Weiss = Fight | Whitley = Fawn
Onto This week's vid!
Aww, dangit! I got to the end of your reactions! XD Now I gotta wait for more!
Soon!
Next week's video is going to be "Dark"
I see what you did there
I think I’ll keep this one brief, too.
Tragedy.
This was the tame half.
