I feel your aggravation, I just had the same issue with the same lantern, I ended up taking it apart to get it out, found out the hole in the fuel/air tube is a bit too small for the tip of the generator to fit nicely, I took a phillips screwdriver shaft and just tweaked the hole a bit more at a different angle to slip that generator right back into place

Same problem with the generator.
I also ended up tweaking the hole a little also. Really tight fitting.

I have the same lantern. Never been fired. Should i put a heat shield on it?
Just bought it for 15 bucks with the case. Im 😊

If yours doesn't have a heat shield, I would definitely recommend finding or making one.
I'm really not sure this one ever leaked. I think the collar was just burned from the heat of the lantern itself.
If your lantern is new, you want to keep it that way as long as you can.
Great score for fifteen bucks.

I always have both coffee and lantern not to mention a stove in my shop at all times. I even use a lantern to help with the heat in the winter.

Thanks Steve. I always use mother's mag to clean up all my lantern founts.
I have seen the black ones on the Coleman sites but this is the first one I have seen in person.
