As far as I know it’s a collaborative process, in terms of writing their music. At the very least, they get caught up about what they’re rapping about.
I just DONT believe you can be this good rapping in 3 thongue without putting some input on it. They are rapping rapping , for real for real
I lived in three different countries in Asia for a total of 12 years and during that period traveled to other parts of Asia as well. 99% of the fluent English speakers there(like Maya who went to international school) including the ones who studied and worked abroad didn't grow up in an English hip-hip culture so they don't even think of "homeboy" as part of their English, let alone making double entendres and word play with 90s hip hop references using hip-hop slangs. And the local Asians who are hardcore underground hip-hip speak and rap in their own language. There's a generation of dumb Blackpink fans who actually think the Blackpink girls write their own raps when they don't. Song credits are protected by copyright laws and so far it's XG's exec director(Jakop) plus the names of 3 other producers who are on the song credits.
Both of these ladies were not even born when the people they are referencing were on the charts. All the more reason why it is so cool that they pay respect and reverence to the material. Talented young ladies.
