The bat colony is a vibrant & delicate ecosystem to be protected. This piece makes it seem like this is a new problem and not an ongoing process, which began in 2015 when the Texas Department of Criminal Justice & Texas, Parks, and Wildlife started working on a habitat solution for these bats. Ultimately, Texas Parks and Wildlife is responsible for the well-being of all wildlife in Texas, so with the largest bat population of any state, it makes sense that they have a bat biologist on staff. In addition to monitoring all of the colonies, TPWL has collaborated with other Texas-based and internationally renowned organizations (Bat Conservation International & Batworld) to relocate colonies successfully. So, why did CBS not interview any bat experts or the people involved in researching & developing the official plan for the Huntsville bats?
Don't have exact location, but it is in Round Rock TX, you drive over two bridges where bats spend the day in the girders and they go out at night. There are signs letting you know about the guano they could drop on your car when driving under the bridge that carries I-35 over
