Seems like a good pick if you don't always need 7 seats but want good visibility, a decent boot (with the back seats up) and engaging drive. I take 10mpg off the stated overall mpg and I know that real world should be between that plus 5-8 depending on the roads, that would still be ok in an auto version of either diesels as far as I can tell
I drive an 2012 model, 2.0 diesel, 163 HP, 5 seats, platinum version. I am satisfied with it, and it needs only 6.4 litres/ 100 km. I recommend it as a reliable and kinda cheap to run car
i have just watched few of your reviews, and i realy like the way you are presenting cars, very honest with a dose of personal observations and a grain of humor. it makes me wonder how don't you have much more views....you do deserve it. and by the way, your english is quite good. on a minus side, i guess i shoud work on sound volume consistent, and maybe compare reviuwed cars little bit more with it's competitors (give your toughts). anyway, sucribed and continuing to watch. wish you all the best.
Thanks. As for views, there are only so many people, who want to watch a fat Polish bloke talk about cars :) As for comparing cars to competitors I wish I could, but it is often the case there is a bug gap between tests of similar cars, and I simply don't remember all the details. As of a few weeks I am working on getting two competitors on camera at the same time, as a brief comparison regardless of the regular review. You'll see the first one soon.
For the money there a very good car it’s not as big as a s max but it’s not meant to be or ford would be shooting themselves in the foot,I would never touch a shitroen Picasso or any other french counter part,I’ve owned vw’s and currently have a 2017 sharan on loan and it’s bland inside and not much better to drive compared with the grand c max,my opinion there’s a car out there for everybody some may like it some may not
I watching this because I rented a “Touran” from Sixt and they gave me this instead. I completely agree with your first statement and also have mixed feelings. I really just wanted to know how to use the features, because not very much is placed somewhere you’ll find intuitively.
I own one the previous model, I agree it's awkward looking, I originally wanted the Smax but it's so damn expensive even the used ones. Next time around I'm getting the Seat Alhambra.
The alhambra is jumpy well in the auto anyway. I have one and its great for space and the sliding doors are good to but its awful to drive and the excelerater pedal is horrible to. I use to have a chevrolet orlando drove mint but not as big.
Rachel Quinn After 2 years of ownership I have finally got rid of the grand cmax I've covered 53000 miles in 2 years with 1 fuel injector problem. I couldn't stand the looks anymore of the gcmax lol, to be fair the 1.6 tdci manual is very frugal if you are careful. I exchanged it with late 2014 Galaxy powershift which I'm picking up in few days. Alhambra is too expensive just can't afford it.
I wonder, why, on the second hand market, S-Max is considerably more expensive than the Grand C-Max?. At least here in France. Dlaczego S-Max jest znacznie drozszy na rynku wtornym niz Grand C-Max, przynajmniej tutaj we Francji..
hehe. Jakos 7-dmio osobowy samochod nie przekonuje mnie jako przeznaczony do jazdy glownie po miescie. Ponadto trzeba by ze soba wozic szczotke do czyszczenia filtra czastek stalych.
Looks of a car (or anything for that matter) are purely subjective. Just look at architecture, some people love buildings and some hate it. I personally don't think this car looks hideous and how a car looks is not of utmost importance to me anyways.
What about a proper conversion? In Poland we had Toyota working for some time with the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON), and providing a RAV4 with a kind of lift, so that you could switch chairs outside the car, and be lifted inside. I know there are companies specialising in this kind of conversions. I suppose the sliding rear doors make it easier to load the wheel chair.
nigel bath I suppose a car like this, where you can just sit in, rather than climb up, would make sense then. How about B-Max with sliding doors, but no B-pillar?
Now I know which family hauler I won't buy. Thanks for the info. Looks fugly, drinks fuel like a V8, and it's cramped. Atop of all that it's boring. Grand C4 Picasso is still my favorite.
This car is very boring it is a shame because ford make great cars such as the focus, fiesta and even the s-max. If i was going to buy a mini van it would be the s-max, I would buy one over crossovers like the qashqai, cr-v and stuff like that.
Not worried about looks. Very practical family car and a pleasure to drive.
Is the car with the automatic transmission also good, or only the regular transmission? Please reply

I really love this car in Hong Kong, we got lots of slope and this little powerful engine won't have problem at all.
I have a five seater Citroen c4 Picasso. It is great!

Very informative, thank you.
I prefer the smaller CMax 2.0TDCI 150bhp to the Grand CMax. I used to have a 2010 Ford CMax with 1.8TDCI 125bhp.
Yeah mate s max far more expensive to buy and run! We would buy that instead too I think this car does what the big family needs! Cheap and cheerful
Very honest as always, thank you! Go go Marek😎
So you can move a seat fully forward and experience poor legroom. Who knew.

french cars are good too
My dentist said NO, he recommends a Range Rover LOL

good and funny review.
thanks for that
that moment when a Peugeot 308 mk1 Estate has 3 full rear seats, but an MPV with sliding doors hasn't.
Where is the Seat heating Botons į cant found it
This review is hilarious 😂

Bo jest znacznie większy?
Aha, nie wiedzialem.
A jak sie zachowuja te smieszne male silniki po duzych przebiegach? To znaczy ja chce kupic z przebiegiem rzedu 10000, ale dlugo go trzymac.
Te małe silniki nie są do dużych przebiegów, tylko do stosunkowo oszczędnej jazdy po mieście.

Ford no longer makes the CMax&Grand CMax.
Yes, they now hope crossovers will sell.
NICE
is sync 3 more faster than sync 2
Significantly.
Versitile MPV.

Thinking of buying one so i can get my electric wheelchair in it with a hoist

Nice idea but my disability benefit wont cover the cost so have to make do with a hoist in the back. At present i have a skoda yeti 1.2 dsg

Never thought of a b-max i will have a look at one on monday thanks marek
Well, duh. The S-max is a bigger and more expensive car.
Maybe my dad thinks five, but is seven seater

I dont like this car at all... But a great review as always, keep up the good work!
