After nearly fifty years it was the final show of Black Sabbath’s Farewell Tour back where it all began in their home city of Birmingham, the industrial heart of England.
There could be no more appropriate place for the Godfathers of Heavy Metal to take their last bow. Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne delivered a set that focused on Black Sabbath’s classic seventies albums, the albums that defined a genre and inspired future generations.
It was an extraordinary, emotional night for both the band and the fans and one that will never be forgotten.

makes perfect sense.
Metal musicians, in general, have bad hearing and with a song like this Ozzy has to somewhat guess the tempo.
@@heavymetalheretic5386 he’s never had issues staying on beat. This show was confirmed to have his in ear metronome slightly too early. He has the original music playing in that ear as well, so he knows where he is in the event the band ever slipped up

Very few people I know listen to this kind of music. Even those from generations before me. They dont care to listen close enough to understand what is going on in the music. They prefer the cookie cutter popy songs that are almost all the same. I like music of every genre, IF it displays the talent of the artist.

Best version ever. I remember when this album came out I was 17 so blessed to have lived in the 60s and 70s best music best times in life.
In my opinion this was not only the first heavy metal song there ever was but its also remains the greatest heavy metal song now 50 years later.

I keep seeing people say that Ozzy was out of tempo or something, and listening to the original, I can hear it now. The thing I don't understand is how some people act like just because the tempo may be a bit off it ruins the performance. I honestly prefer this live performance over the original performance. The song aged well and I love how much deeper and dark this one sounds. Ozzy's voice being different, older, deeper, and the great new sounds from the instruments they used here are so great and I would say add so much more power to feeling of the song. Going back to tempo, I honestly don't understand why people care so much. Yes, it has it's own way of making the song unique and creepy, but it doesn't make the entire song. The dark, bone chilling, addicting vibe it had before is still there, and again, I'd argue that now since time has passed it's added to the strength of it. I can't stop listening to it and giving into the chaos of it all. It's really great.

This is the last Black Sabbath show, so they decided to end where It began in a way (the lack of Bill Ward not withstanding).
You can tell OZZY loved performing..its what truly makes him happy. Watching the tv show with his son Jack, you can tell he's intelligent, funny,and also an artist (always drawing). He & Sabbath rock & I believe the 1st "metal" band!

I am 61, been listening to Sabbath since 1971, saw them in 1978, and I just realized that I had NEVER heard this song done WITHOUT Bill Ward. The connector of Geezer Butler and Bill Ward is TOTALLY missing in this case. I am just giving something that stands out as far as I'm concerned. Geezer's playing bass as topnotch as ever, but Bill Ward's perfectly matched drumming sure is MISSING!
