I’ve been a fan of Five Nights at Freddy’s and other similar games and series since around the time FNaF came out. I left the community for a while but recently came back to it and entered the Walten Files community as well. This caused me to become curious about the franchises that inspired both series. I came across this video and I’m really glad that I did! This gave me some pretty interesting places to look into! If you’re reading this and know of any places not mentioned, please tell me! (I’ve already looked into Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz)

No the circus playhouse animatronics are so creepy the could be in an actual fnaf game. They even fit the style with the burned and broken plastic. And don’t even want to talk about that 500 lbs giga animatronic with the tilted neck
I think I know why animatronics are so scary. Over the past few years, animatronics have ‘evolved’ becoming more realistic over time but not exactly the same as a human. Our brains have an ability to be comfortable with humans and non humans however animatronics are often in between looking between human and non human which causes our brains to be ‘confused’ which makes us uncomfortable.
i believe what you are referring to is called uncanny valley! and i absolutely agree with your point, plus the relatively recent rise of animatronics in horror based media adds onto that scary feeling :)

New animatronic horror game idea: Fixing old animatronics from other locations only to find recordings they have with in them, the more recordings you get the more a pattern begins to show up, you play as the animatronics with in these tapes and explore the memories, eventually you get a strange looking animatronic recording that has all of the creepy things you've seen from all other recordings. Things you see in the recordings: multiple kidnappings and late night murders from strange employees and random people, each happening with the animatronic present some times with the animatronic being used in some way. And you get to see 1 person through out all of it that some how seems to be present for most of these murders. What you do in the game: gather tapes, fix the animatronics, send them away to thier original location, watch/play the tapes, get similar animatronics to the ones you had before, eventually get coworkers who seem to have a strange interest in the animatronics looking for something, you hide the tapes, make sure your not being followed by anyone, try and peice together who your coworkers are, kill off coworkers 1 after another whale acting as if you too have something to hide to try and blend in which works perfectly. Items you get in game: tapes, animatronic parts, tools, etc.
Somehow the animatronics from the burned location look pretty terrifying. They already looked uncanny to begin with, I don't know why they always look like that. But their burned faces somehow make it look worce, as if the more human and living features just vanished into smoke, leaving behind what is now a husk of a body.
Animatronics have always freaked me out way before FNaF, and now because of it, I always expect a jumpscare whenever they film an animatronic way too close for my liking.
The abandon Fun Town Rock afire Animatronics were sold to Jack Turner, after the purchase of Fun Town, you can see the animatronics fully restored, in a Video on the Channel Tested where they interviewed Jack and showed off the animatronics.
Somebody (I can't remember their names) repurposed the Rockafire Explosion for their personal use and actually had the full set up in running and immaculate condition. I believe they either just let them slowly fall apart or they received a cease and desist letter. I think they were abandoned though because I don't see how Showtime Pizza (which doesn't exist anymore) would be willing to threaten legal action.
are you referring to Chris Thrasher? he had his own Rock-Afire show set up near his house, though he was unable to maintain them due to financial issues and had to sell it, where it ended up back to Aaron Fechter and then to a park in Korea. quite sad how he was unable to maintain them because now they're not in the best condition :(

there's a few interesting facts about the Clown animatronic: i believe it was originally made for a kiosk at the IAAPA convention in the late 70s, where Fechter's other animatronics like the Wolf Pack 5 and the Shakespeare-reciting gorilla were shown off. you can actually see him in the background in an old video of the convention, though he doesn't appear to move. the original Clown animatronic is currently stuffed and non-functional. additionally, there was also a retrofit of that animatronic at a theme park in Chile called Mundo Magico at one point. he was retrofitted to look like an older man with classes, complete with his own unique mask and all. the only footage of this character that i can find online are clips from some promotional ads where you can see that he has a mouth movement. there's no audio available of this animatronic and it's unknown where he is today or how Mundo Magico acquired him. there's some other neat animatronics in Fechter's warehouse as well, such as a Wolf Pack 5 show, the Moonrockers, three Wizard Of Oz animatronics and a New Rock-Afire reboot show with the rotating stages. also, Singing Sam, while not made by Creative Engineering, is quite similar in concept and mechanics to Fatz Geronimo's original incarnation in the Wolf Pack 5, both being positioned to the side while playing a piano and being able to turn their heads towards the audience :D

Things are found here quite often, and while we aren’t sure why, what we do know, is that they can be used for parts, which can mean a much-needed revenue boost before starting your next day. Of course, as with everything else in this line of work, those benefits come with risk. The safest thing to do is to throw it back outside, but then, you get no money for the salvage. Choose to keep it, and you run the risk of certain negative consequences, namely death, should the item in question not be as docile as it first appeared. If you do decide to try to salvage it, then you must complete the Maintenance Checklist. During this testing phase, check on the animatronic frequently. If you feel that it is becoming unstable, use the taser provided to you. You can use it three times without damaging the hardware. Every use over three however will decrease the item’s salvage value

Things are found here quite often, and while we aren’t sure why, what we do know, is that they can be used for parts, which can mean a much-needed revenue boost before starting your next day. Of course, as with everything else in this line of work, those benefits come with risk. The safest thing to do is to throw it back outside, but then, you get no money for the salvage. Choose to keep it, and you run the risk of certain negative consequences, namely death, should the item in question not be as docile as it first appeared. If you do decide to try to salvage it, then you must complete the Maintenance Checklist. During this testing phase, check on the animatronic frequently. If you feel that it is becoming unstable, use the taser provided to you. You can use it three times without damaging the hardware. Every use over three however will decrease the item’s salvage value
