Abominable SnowDoug - Metal Detecting Silver Coins & Depression Relics at the Field of 1,000 Holes!

- Опубликовано: 11 апр 2022
- Preparing for the live stream we did this past weekend took up so much of my time that I didn't get to finish editing the video that I wanted to put up. I did save this video from earlier this year when Dog-Tag Doug, Rich, and myself hit our amazing Field of 1,000 Holes, even though it was blanketed with snow. Swinging the coils 4" above the ground makes metal detecting a little harder than normal, but this field is so unique that not only was the ground underneath not frozen but depression era relics and old silver coins were still being pulled up just the same!

I started watching your channel in the past 2 months and even with me being on the other side of the pond in Scotland I am enjoying watching your adventures in the USA.
I watch your show every sunday. Sometimes it motivates me to go out and detect myself. So today I did just that, and I found a 1907 barber dime. So awesome.
Wow that’s great Jank, congratulations! Now that’s motivating me to go back out so it’s coming full circle! lol

Wow, the field of dreams there!! Makes me wonder if the person living there collected tokens. Such amazing stuff there! The live stream sure was crazy but it was a blast! Can't wait till the end of the month! Thankfully there's no more snow around!!
Think he said it was a 1920s dump site
Great video as always guys. Can each one have their own video and show off the best finds they have found over the years. Jason can have his own, Hug a Doug (AKA Ralph's little brother off a Christmas Story) can have his own. PA Pirate 🦜 Paul.. & so on. Thanks for all the great videos. I can't get enough..

Another fun video. I missed the live event …. Sounds like it was crazy fun have to catch a replay.
Enjoyed the live event!!!
I missed the first 1/2. Freaked out when i realized it. Loved it. Thanks to Doug for answering my question about finding a "dog" with the tags. Strange question but i wonder about the bones, and how things end up where you find them. Can't wait for the next live!!!!
I missed the Live Stream 😭
Sounds like it was as good as the Original Live Streams with even more laughs.
I was there at the start last Sar and saw Mr. Murphy in all his glory! You recovered well and really held your cool. Great job and the next one will be better!
That place is awesome for sure. Carl
Always great to see you guys. I am shocked theres still stuff out in that field. Lol. Yall have been out there many many times. Good token day. Its funny because RIGHT after you found that 1926 wheatie, I found one in a penny role. Mines Philly though. I look forward to your next hunt.
Live chat was super crazy but fun!
Everyone got silver!!
Awesome Hunt my friends. I can’t wait to come back to hunt with you guys again.
I have read that the Buffalo Nickel has the likeness of Chief Two Moon. He has a really cool story. Worth looking up if you like history.

Awesome hunt. Just moving into winter down under, haven't done a hunt in the snow. I suppose at least you can see clearly where you've
been. Good luck for your return visits.

Awesome hunt
Doug is still the man great fine.
Absolutely the first time I have ever Live streamed...Good times...Good to see all you guys and some wives....Nice job on the tokens and silvers....👍
Missed joke opportunity when you found the chit😁
I for sure felt like I seen a date on the buffalo nickel in the first rub on it before the brush down!!
Livestream was awesome!!!!!!!
@@dogtagdoug6751 Of course! Thank you!
I called in sick from work this weekend so I could actually participate in a live event for my first and only time...I enjoyed it and at least can have some sort of an idea what I miss when I'm working. If you ever have a non weekend live event I will definitely be there but otherwise I have probably seen the only one I will get to see...P.S. The blizzard has arrived here and it's heading your way, keep some warm clothes ready.
I have an actual lead pencil and it's much thinner than a no2 that we use now. That coke bottle sharpener would fit that perfectly. I have no idea when that lead pencil is from, but it was in a handmade box I got from my great grandfather.
Hey! Matchy matchy...I also found a Popsicle movie token...mine is Gary Cooper in Honor Bright!
I have that same exact one myself! We gotta be in an inclusive club for that sucker! Lol
Chief Running Nose was on the nickel that cold "dog nose day" as Doug so aptly coined it.
I thought the Livestream was a blast!
Excellent video and hunt ! Congratulation to everyone for finding silver and all ya`ll finds ! Good luck and best wishes on ya`ll next hunt !
Saturday was definitely a great night. The Livestream chat was moving. Another great day at the Field of 1000 holes. Happy hunting and be well
That stream was Crazy! Glad you made some more mods I was feeling bad for Wicked Digger being the only one haha. You did a great job none the less Brother! I wish the field I'm working would turn out as much as that one lol. Have a great one!!!
I worked out what time you had your live stream last Saturday which was Sunday morning here in North Queensland, Australia. I got on my PC & when your channel came up it said you had started your live stream 2 hours before. I could have kicked myself as l had missed it. Nevermind l do it right on your next one. Cheers Mate, Pete in Oz.
Live show chat was Off the Hook!
I was there !!
@@dogtagdoug6751 in the chat! I’d love to go into the field with you dog tag Doug!!!
Over here across the pond I still use my from new in 2005 Minelab Explorer II. In the winter with snow on the ground I put the detecting coil in a plastic carrier bag and tie it to the stem this prevents snow build up on the coil weighing it down. 🙂.
@@dogtagdoug6751 No problem. I always like to help if I can. 🙂.
great live thought i was going to have a seizure lol
Grants cottage is in NY. They do tours and it is all original. Very pretty place to visit.
As a cock a cola collector. That is the most spectacular find . My brother I have a 1650 Chinese coin I found here in Wyoming but that is so much more to me here and we have those here. Not Spanish reals. Bless you all
Had to google it
"The U.S. Mint believes that the Native American figure depicted on the Buffalo Indian Head nickel is a composite image of Chief Iron Tail of the Lakota Sioux, Chief Two Moons of the Cheyenne and another unnamed American Indian. The coins were designed by James Earle Fraser."
its a little to late, but could ya # your videos to save some of us hunting the 1000,s we have not seen yet ? Either way awesome videos and we all appreciate what you are doing JASON AND CO.
To answer Doug's question, the indian was a composite of 3 individuals on the Buffalo Nickels.
The field of dreams keeps on giving. Where the heck has Jeff been? He just seem to disappear. Is He coming back? Great livestream almost to great. You guys didn`t seem to have enough time for questions? I hope you do another one a little more sooner.
Put a plastic bag over your coil to keep the snow off
It is thought that Chief John Big Tree was the inspiration for the Buffalo nickel
I watched your livestream as a replay, during the week we get up at 4 am, we kinda have to keep our same schedule on the weekend too. Hi Doug, I waved at you but you didn't see me! P.s. I still love you 💝
