  • (2*) Do you get to roll twice if your creature is double blocked?

    A: No. This ruling is the same if the attacking creature has trample and damages a blocking creature and the defending player.

    And a 2/2 grizzly bear (with a +1/+1 counter on it) with double strike can get the ability to trigger twice even when it's blocked by 2 1/1 if you assign combat damage intelligently

    I'm glad you mentioned Giant's skewer. That interaction used to come up during games of Throne of Eldraine limited.

    Now, all Amy need to do is have the creature be "Extremely Slow Zombie" instead of grizzly bears to have a 3rd combat damage step, in Last Strike damage

      or Three-Headed Goblin, which gets you all three of them

    This title is hilarious out of context, it reads like "vs one silly guy" memes. Great video.

    Your Felix Five-Boots trigger wouldn't happen if Nick blocked with his two 1/1s though. Felix only triggers if combat damage to a player occurs. There was no damage that happens to a player unless the creature had trample... unless I am missing something. Side note: love your videos

    >If you had some way to give the grizzly bears double strike
    Or triple strike!

    I have one for you, it involves Breaker of Creation and Kathril, Aspect Warper.
    Now Kathril has a ruling that reads
    "If cards in your graveyard have multiple hexproof abilities (such as hexproof, hexproof from white, and hexproof from black), a counter of each variant kind will be put onto a creature"
    Does Breaker of Creation's "Hexproof from all colours" count as 5 different versions of Hexproof or just one?

      Since it's one ability you should only get one counter.

    I'm curious if you could do the interaction between Arena and a creature an opponent controls with Ward. I know there's interactions where there's a big difference between you placing counters on something versus the other player choosing to place counters on something via your own effect in order to get Kros, Defense Contractor to trigger. So all of this to say since Arena states "and another target creature of that opponent's choice..." Does ward trigger since I'm not technically making the target the owner of the creature is

    • @seanheath4492
      @seanheath4492 28 дней назад +2

      Pretty sure it still triggers ward because it's your effect that's doing the targeting, even if the player with the warded creature is picking the target.
      "Ward [cost] (Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, counter it unless that player pays [cost].)"

      Kros has you put a counter on a targeted opponent's creature. It functions no differently than if you had an ability that put -1/-1 counters on targeted creatures.

    • @seandun7083
      @seandun7083 28 дней назад +1

      Kros doesn't say "of an opponent's choice".

    • @tatebenson2375
      @tatebenson2375 28 дней назад

      @@midn8588 there might have been some misunderstanding, I am fully aware that something like contagion engine will still trigger him because it's you that is placing the counters. However, something like the background Noble heritage you are not the one placing the counters, it is the opponent who is. They're just doing it through your effect but in terms of Kros, he does not see that as you placing the counters. That is what I'm referring to

    I had a question about how cipher works with roaming throne like if my creature deals damage does the spell get copied again thanks to roaming throne

    • @seandun7083
      @seandun7083 28 дней назад +1

      Cipher creates a delayed trigger from the spell so it won't be a trigger from the creature it was ciphered onto. That does have the upside of making it so Cipher won't be removed by Dress Down though.
      Edit: I'm wrong. Reminder text isn't rules text and the reminder text for Cipher is misleading. It does actually grant a triggered ability so Roaming Throne will affect it.
      Ruling:
      The exiled card with cipher grants a triggered ability to the creature it’s encoded on. If that creature loses that ability and subsequently deals combat damage to a player, the triggered ability won’t trigger. However, the exiled card will continue to be encoded on that creature.

    • @JasonOshinko
      @JasonOshinko 28 дней назад

      It's a triggered ability, so yes.

    • @stellatedhexahedron6985
      @stellatedhexahedron6985 28 дней назад

      yes. cipher works via the encoded card granting an ability to the creature its encoded on

    If I have a Thalia, guardian of thraben in play and cast village rites sacrificing Thalia as it's aditional cost, do I still need to pay 1 mana more for Thalia or not?

    • @egoish6762
      @egoish6762 28 дней назад +2

      You still pay, the costs are calculated before you pay the costs so thalia is on the field when you cast the spell.

    Unfortunately felix is a "go face SMOrc" kind of guy so he doesn't care if your sword holder gets blocked, and also doesn't care if your giant skewer wielder deals damage to a creature (unless that creature is also a player? unsets can sometimes get weird.)

    • @syrelian
      @syrelian 27 дней назад

      Throw in some Trample and pump, then you're dealing combat damage to EVERYTHING
      Doesn't fix Skewer but does fix Hours
