Hey Wanderbots, thanks for playing the game again!
Since last time we added a lot of new stuff and we've been building some core systems for the future as well!
I have to agree with you on the Upgrades part, we're currently in the middle of making new upgrades! We have completely changed how we think about upgrades internally so you can expect much more interesting upgrade in the future and a bigger sense of "builds". This is one of our next biggest points to tackle!
About the currency usage, right now in the Demo there's no unlock system so we just let you use the in-run shop freely. As the game evolves the idea is that the in-run shop will be a late-game unlock, so during early game you'll only have the Mementos Shop to spend your pebbles currency. The in-run shop will be unlocked later on when you have bought most Mementos Upgrades and then you'll go from spending in the Mementos Shop to spend on the in-run shop, and that'll function as kind of a "limit break" where you'll be able to get stronger then what the Mementos shop lets you.
We're also working on more events that will spawn during the run that will give you different rewards and offer cooler challenges :)
Leveling is a bit slow because frankly we don't have a lot of upgrades in the upgrade pool to work with, but as the game progresses we will keep reworking our XP Curve.
Yes, you do get iFrames and the upgrades that influence DURATION increases all your iFrames duration as well
Proc Chance works on ANYTHING that has a random chance of working, so Blood Bag, Critical, Chance to Explode, Archer's Keychain...
Little Mac might be getting some new skills soon as well 😉
Also you didn't try do Dodge and Press Jump after. 😉
But thanks again for playing the game! Please please please wait until we release the game before playing again! :P
(Spoilers: There's A TON of stuff we haven't released and we're keeping for release)
- Atomic's Creative Director
Will this game be on multiple platforms (Xbox, PC, and PS4/5) when it fully votes out?
@@dadeholmes8439 we will do our best to release the game on as many platforms as possible, I just can't confirm any platform right now since we're still developing the base game!
That ok, I'm just happy to get an actual response👍
Why is it lagging on high settings on my rtx 4070 ti and why is it so hard to win the first game lol
Looking good, can't wait to check it out. Two things seem weird to me - no pause during the upgrade selection screen (why is it on a timer at all, at least in singleplayer?) and no pause when pressing ESC. I thought, ever since Vampire Survivors came out, that was already the industry standard for this genre?
I get it if you don't want pauses in multiplayer but there really is no reason for a permanent pause during upgrade selection process when playing alone.
Risk of Rain 2, is what I immediately think of. The game in the video here seems like a simplified version of RoR2, which could be a good thing for some.
This game feels like a diamond in the rough. Core gameplay is fun, but the upgrades are... painful. I agree that the numbers don't feel very impactful for how slow the leveling is, but more than anything they feel so plain. There should definitely be some upgrades specific to each weapon, and more upgrades to your secondary in general
We're working on more upgrades RIGHT NOW! :p
@@adgd I'm glad to hear it! It does feel like all the upgrades are tuned for the assault rifle and the upgrades only go towards "shoot better". The most divergent upgrade is the Teddy Bear's aura, which isn't particularly flashy at all. Just would be nice if upgrades could do different things, like something with your dash or double jump or whatever else.
@@adgd One thing to consider is that any damage upgrades should be measured in break points-how many shots or reloads does it take to kill a thing-because that's what a player will actually feel. If an upgrade doesn't cross a break point, it's not an upgrade.
flying enemy's that shoot continuously is annoying, i hope it have an option to "disable flying enemies"😅😂
i dont like the genshin impact graphics seems too generic at this point tbh the gameplay looks really fun tho
If I got a penny every time Wander says "Nah, let's go for the damage" I'd have a few bucks by now :p
Game's looking really nice!
Thank you for the nice words about the game! :D
The currency thing is basically a dealbreaker for me. If the game wants me to choose between more fun and dynamic runs or metaprogression then it doesnt feel like a tradeoff it feels like Im being artificially slowed down. The game looks a lot better than the last time you played it so hopefully that kind of stuff gets fixed up.
I played the demo and it's very very fun, I think there are some bugs or quirky interactions that I have found, but overall a very fun game. I am excited to see what they add in the full release.
Thanks! Let us know if you find any bugs so we can fix them 🤣🤣
Im a bit worried about this game, back when you did the previous video it didn't seem to have any "bullet heaven" at all, it's just risk of rain but with more stat ups and less "cool effects" type of items, and as you said, just minor stat upgrades doesn't cut it.... Doesn't seem to have improved that aspect since then. You either need many more often levelups and faster progression (more bulletheaven) with interesting automatic weapons that just blast everywhere just as you walk... Or you need many more interesting effects and wierd combos (more risk of rain). This middle point seems, honestly, like the worst of both worlds.
Yes, unfortunately you're correct we haven't worked on the Upgrades part of the game since last time but this is because this game is extremely complex and our team is not super huge. What we've been doing was making a lot of the underlying systems that are required for our future plans. But since then work has started on newer and cooler upgrades, so you can expect more soon :)
game feels really intense sometimes haha havent seen wander sweat like this in a while
where this losses its bullet heaven roots is that it doesn't introduce new exciting weapons or abilities, you are left with the same starting weapon from the beginning to the end. maybe it could have another game mode where things get crazy and exciting based on the cards you pull with bibles or garlic or maybe even weapons from the ratchet and clank series where things turn into chickens and explode
Estalo, Chamusca and Friaca?!?! Fellow latin americans? fellow Brazilians?!
This seems like so much fun. I will try the full release.
Reminds me of Risk of Rain 2 although I have never played it despite the overwelhmingly positive reviews, I just played the first rish of rain nad it was a great indie already. But this looks nicer than Risk of Rain 2, if they sell at reasonnable price I am in.
@@kroooassant9899 nicer than risk of rain? I don't think so, at least not what I've seen right now. Less than 20 upgrades in a run and almost all of them are just 5% faster fire rate or 10% damage up... feels kinda boring in comparison to throwing random rockets, sparking electricity around, triple jumping, healing on crits.... Maybe it's different strokes for different folks, I guess, but imo this is inferior as is.
@@kroooassant9899 We'll do our best to try and be as good as Risk of Rain 2! We're huge fans of that game :)
@@Jonjon13Jonjon13 As the game's creative director I gotta say I agree with you, but the Demo is just a pre-alpha version of the game. We will work on better upgrades, cooler boss fights and more things to do in a Run. Even if the game isn't for you tastes right now, please come back in a couple of months to check our progress ❤❤
@@kroooassant9899 nope, just tried the demo and RoR2 is sooooo much better.
Definitely a diamond in the rough. I think the core gameplay is fun but needs a lot more work. The price of upgrades needs a readjustment. I think the upgrades need a rework. I think they should also implement like a shield when you enter the shop so you can actually look and read the items, but don't allow passive healing from upgrades to occur so people don't cheese it. Or either just have everything freeze when you enter and bring up a menu of the items in the shop. Right now, there isn't time to look and purchase unless you go from the very start when there's less enemies.
Thanks for the kind words! I agree with much of what you've said, and what I can say is that we are working on more upgrades and improvements to the game. Please keep checking in with us because the game will only improve from here ❤
Freezing doesn't work with Multiplayer. I'd say instead make any player within a certain radius of the shop take no damage, but also be unable to do damage. best way to give players the calm needed to think about that, while also keeping them from Cheesing it
This looks to take quite a lot of inspiration from Returnal and I'm all for it.
Huh, graphically looks very similar to Fortnite. Adding a third dimension to Bullet Heavens has the potential to shift things up quite a bit.
Edit: it looks like that damage aura would’ve been super good for just breaking those shotgun-refusing crystals.
I have not played it but isn't very much like Risk of Rain 2 after all? I like bullet heavens but this looks very familiar
@@kroooassant9899this seems similar, but nowhere near as good as RoR2.
@@kroooassant9899 This looks very much like Risk of Rain 2
Some hits don't do anything, it has happened with most weapons.
My problem with this demo is it works based on the number of enemies you kill. If you don't kill any enemies you can runs circles of the map grinding for hours. Your stats go up very very slowly and I was sure some things were only applying once or incorrectly and the meta progress is completely too expensive. That said I think the dev is on to something here, they can build it out and I wish them the best.
This game reminds me of that crab game which is insanely cool, this game looks like the kind of game I want to play right now, hope it comes out fully soon
where's a "magnet" item to attract all exp in the map 😅
Imagine Pokemon but with guns 😂
Third person bullet heaven is literally just Risk of Rain 2, especially modded
Ah see I thought this was going to be more of a shooter roguelike in vein of Gunfire Reborn instead of a bullet heaven game, not entirely sure what to think of that
Watching wonder get 1 kill away from his objective the first run and not realize it was painful
Risk of Rain 2 but not inspired...
lost me at staring at choices lols
Not a bullet heaven game.
Visually, this feels like a combo of Genshin and Slime Rancher.
Basically a Genshin Risk of Rain
Why does it looks so much like fortnite
My guess, its made with the Fortnite Unreal Editor to create custom games.
Basically an unreal editor using the fortnite assets.
Epic used to provide the Unreal Editor with the Unreal and Unreal Tournament series in the past, and this spawned a bunch of total conversion mods that later become their own games. So I feel this is perhaps the start of the same.
@@hyperforce It's not :P The game is 100% made in house with a different engine! The game is still in pre-alpha and our graphics will evolve over time :)
But Timmy, we already have Fortnite at home!
I guess anything 3d with guns and cartoony graphics is Fortnite now?
@@AscendantStoic a Fortnite is literally two weeks, I think its more about that (survivign two weeks, or something in that line?) And yeh, I ve seen that mode, it basically looked like a slightly different spin on Orcs Must Die... Which could be incredible. Then instead we got a cartoony battle royale, meh.
