I like how the main villain is basically an alternate version of the protagonist. If Changge had continued to go down the path of taking revenge at the cost of warfare and people's suffering, then she would've become exactly the same as Yicheng. It makes everything more realistic and relatable.
ASHILE SUN is a character I’ll never forget and the actor that portrayed him did a marvelous job and he’s only 21. I can’t wait to see what he has to offer in the future.
I've watched alot of dramas before but this has definitely touched my heart. The characters were selfless and it shows alot of critical thinking and strategies, the romance was not too much and their morals. It's shows friendship and brotherhood and exciting actions. By far the best series I've ever seen.

I just love how smart and independent ChangGe is- not a moment where she depended on Asun to do anything for her (except when she forced him to fight She’er during Leyan’s marriage duel which he refused😂). Also how Asun grew to respect her decisions and protect her when she needed to be. When he was given the chance by the emperor to change their identities, he didn’t decide for her and rejected the offer because he knew she wouldn’t want it - that scene really stuck with me. Both lead characters are heroes in their own right and they’re a perfect match❤️🔥 All the minor characters were also worth investing time into, there was never a boring moment!
Changge and A’Sun, I will never get over them, they have come so far from the war enemies they once were. They are both so willing to sacrifice everything to save and protect one another, their love is so beautiful and pure ❤️

Overall the story was good but... Am I the only one who thinks it took a while for them to show believable romantic affection for each other? The ending lacked that affection together instead we get an eagle and her looking up at it (what about that drink with his brother?) Didn't feel believable romance wise but more like really good friends. Love both actors especially Dilreba since eternal love/eternal love of dream and more but overall the romance lacked believability at least for me.🤷♀️
I feel like this should end with ep 50 where: _ they get married _ great khan wake up and talk _ they go visit the little princess _ Sun and Sher fight then drink as they promised

I can't belive there would be a day when I would feel 49 episodes would be too short for me. I have always avoided Chinese historicals bcoz of length but this hit me pretty hard 💔
I also avoided historical dramas because I always end crying like I am crying but it gives many advice for us how to get how to make every inch every step our life understandingly. Life is very struggling and every word and person of it is worth of it.....
General Li is very intimated to Ashile Sun, and Ashile Sun is very open minding to listen to him; however, Ashile Sun has no intention to fight any war any more. He only wants to be with Li Changge.❤ True warrior know when to make peace.

The two flawed beings with their fate intertwined, became heroes for each other, for their people, for their loved one, for their country and for peace. They've fulfilled their journey and accomplished their mission. The Eagle flying scene with the drums beating was one of the best scenes :3

The Long Ballad is easily one of the best series I have watched. The sets, costumes, the animations! I was constantly immersed in this world. The sweet, funny and heart wrenching moments are going to stay with me for a long time. Perfect ending for a perfect series..

A number of viewers expressed their disappointment with the ending as it didn’t show the cliche, common ending of them kissing.... I actually prefer this ending as it depicts Ashile Sun watching over Changge and making sure she’s happy and safe with him! Much better than the cliche ending of couples kissing and people cheering & applauding them......
Everybody else in the series kissed. The only thing he did was kiss her forehead once. Big deal! Did you see the scene where Mimi and mujin kissed? Wow wow! Now THAT was a passionate kiss.

I've gotta say.. i think Hao Du's and Leyan's love story was more engaging and sweet to me, i absolutely adore their character development together! I didn't like Hao Du at first, but he quickly grew onto me and now he's my favourite character.
Before I thought that Hao du's father is a bad guy but after a long time until this episode, he waited for his son to bring back the victory, to make sure that his country is safe and peaceful, so he can leave without worried. It shows that most of them always put their country first and more important than their own life, their happiness as long as their people can live happily that's enough.
I like the love story of li changge and ashile sun its not the usual love story that weve seen ,their love is pure and unselfish that they respect each others freedom and support each others decision they are not forcing anything for themselves for as long as they knew that they love each other nothing else matter just like what they both said "its enough to have you in my life" and also changge already accepted asun marrige proposal and claimed that he is already his husband .. I love the message left at the end of the episode. When A'Sun let the eagle fly, it means the Eagle Division is free. How wonderful The Long Ballad is.
Well, it was said that the princess saved his life. That's a life debt. Just like A sun can not go against Khagan, he can't help but obeying the princess either. The same case for Hao du. They just happen to stand on different sides and if it's not for Le yan, Haodu might have not started to think and decide on his own either. It was Leyan who woke him up with her slap, that someone should not be like a puppet all his life and that there are many ways to be loyal. For A sun's case, it was also Changge who told him that he does't need to betray Khagan to follow his own conscience. That's when he decided to disband his troops and fake their death. It's actually a good thing that Khagan is paralyzed now, otherwise it wouldn't have been easy for A sun either. Because Khahan was still his life saviour and the one raising him, despite his harsh treatment.
This is one of the best historical dramas I have watched. I learnt a lot from here. This basically portrayed reality in so many ways.“THE ENEMIES OF A MAN ARE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD” This is different from what I usually watched and I loved it so much. Congratulations and cheers to the entire cast and team. You all did well. I don’t regret watching this definitely going to recommend 😚😚
I completely agree and a special mention to all the kids' actors/actresses, in a good or villain role, they were all so good; the one playing the spoiled crown prince captured all the emotions so well , annoying, fussy, arrogant cute, and sweet in the end. This is in my top three dramas, along with The Rebel Princess and Who rules the world. A brilliant script and good acting make all the difference.🙂
Kudos to the whole cast..Their acting are all superb..Even the kids act really well..And let's not forget the director who also worked hard to squeeze out the best performace from the actors..I highly recommend this show..👍👍👍

Kudos to the writers, not just for creating a great story, but especially for the portrayal of character development. One of the best examples of it that I have seen. I really enjoyed the cinematography as well. Acting was top notch by all. Congrats to cast and crew for an amazingly well done job!

Everyone on the show from oldest to youngest, villains and protagonists acted so beautifully and my I add they were all so gorgeous. I am so glad Sher and Sun didn't kill each other and remained brothers. Nevertheless I wondered how is the war general Li Jing related to Li Changhe and the king since his surname is Li? Is he her uncle, far relative or just happened to have same last names

Plz the male lead deserve a big award..he acted the eagle well..NVR was there default in his acting,even wen he was sweet with his woman..the way he walks,no fear..his words comes out with power..the female lead has always being a legend..our funny favorite actress wasn't funny here but was sweet zhao...I love everyone,the writer, director,crew members..I will surely rewatch this again

Wu Lei is such a versatile actor. I've been binging his dramas and films lately and what I'll say is that he can convincingly carry any type of role...down to earth, youthful, funny ones...all the way to super mature, serious, and cold characters like Ashile Sun and Ling Buyi. Amazing actor. He's athletic, has great form/great energy, and is so fantastic in action sequences. His horsemanship is also noteworthy.

Khatun how much ever scheme she planted she planted on her own she is a strong lady afterall. She led the whole country herself that's also a bravery. She even suffered 30 years for her kingdom for her so called adopted family. I really liked her acting. Strong character needs to be applauded.
Damn sun saved changge for atleast infinite times..but the love between changge and sun is unique, pure and unconditional...The way changge becomes shy when Sun said sweet words..the way they risk their lives for one another and they are two warriors and the love story of warriors will always be like this..
Loved the setting of grasslands and the background music during the scenes of Eagle Division. A beautiful story so well portrayed, sweet and simple. Ashile Sun and Emperor Li Shimin, these two characters in particular were my favourite and the actors did justice to the role. The relationship between Du Hao and his father was also beautifully directed and likewise that of Ashile Sun and Sh'er. As for relationship of Ashile Sun's with his father Great Khan, I wish they had gone a lil more in detail, it would've been more satisfying. Journey of Princess Leiyan was also inspiring. And Sigh! Thank God! Li Changge gave Ashile Sun positive response, cuz having watched many Chinese period dramas I was afraid Li Changge, being a warrior and rebel, might not reciprocate Ashile Sun's feelings or restrain herself from getting into relationship or something. But it didn't turn out like that which I'm glad for. Most importantly, the lesson was so beautiful and an utter truth which we need to learn. We need to let go of differences, hatred and revenge to live in Peace. Love the team Long Ballad and Thank you! Thank you for making this project possible. She's not just beautiful but a super good,talented and unique actress...After watching Eternal love of dream and the long ballad, I super confirmed she's EXTRA GOOD! I was expecting to see Dijun's baby and her baby voice but to my astonishment, I saw a fierce woman disguised as a man...I live in Nigeria and believe me Cdrama fans here don't think less of Dilraba..So I don't know the reason some Chinese do not like Dilraba and see her uniqueness...Perhaps because they've really bad taste...I rate this movie 101%.The leads and the minors all did well💛 After watching this drama,I've decided if I see anybody say Dilraba isn't good or insult her,I'm not gonna take it easy on that person... You have a right to choose your favourite actor/actress but being toxic towards my fav is a no no for me... Long ballad casts and characters... Li Changge's message: "It does not matter who governs China as long as China is governed well." Yicheng's message: "It is all about who governs China." + loyalty + self sacrifice + self pity Interesting. I am fine with the ending. But in order to set up the final stand-off 26:46 between the protagonist and antagonist, they had to massively deviate from real history. Sticking to real history would have been better, partly because Yicheng is a rather weak villain. I also feel sorry for the real historic Yicheng, who does not deserve to be portrayed in such a manner. In fact, the historic Yicheng helped to save lots of lives and had a hard life herself. All in all, the second half of the entire show clearly lags behind the first half, which was truly epic. But it could have been worse...
She saved lives of many by marrying into Eastern Turkic Khaganate and spend 30 years of her life with them. Maybe she just wanted to be acknowledged not because she got married to save the country but because she is, afterall, a princess.

Without her sacrifice, their citizens would have been massacred during war.. it was known that the nomad tribes were cruel to the commoners when they occupied the cities. Changge is actually lucky to meet great people through her journey, people who can open her mind and keep her from going astray driven by hatred. Yicheng was not so fortunate like her. She's just a delicate princess who can only rely on her beauty and wit, physically weak and without support in the foreign land. Without Leimeng's help she was powerless to do anything. She had to suffer humiliation marrying 4 different men for her own survival. Considering the confucian's teaching she had in mainland, it was a disgrace. Her suffering is what changed her into a scheming merciless woman. Sheer's father sounds like a rather nice father and husband, but that was probably also the reason why he didn't stay long. Sheer is probably taking after his father, too naive that made him easily to be deceived. He was already the 3rd man for Yicheng, so her personality has already been twisted by then. Experiencing such things for 30 years... it is not so easy not to have a personality disorder.
@@Anakiwiify Yeahh... for those years of sufferings... I can't really imagine anyone being that brave. If I'm going to re-watch this series, I probably end up understanding more the villains. Villains may be villains because of their selfishness, but those selfishness has a story to be told.

They didnt give us the cliché ending (getting married, kids, life away from the palace) in return I will never forget their sweet moments and just assume what their happy life will be.😂

Wow..This is just the best I have watched in a long while. I laughed, I screamed, I cried and it all boils down to Love! For country, for oneself, for family, for acquaintances and the desire to see us grow. I understand the ending. Sun and Changed gets married and still watch over one another. I didn't really like the fact that Mimi died. It really Hurst me but it's part of it. Shout out to all the team. Sun, changed, mu jin, sher, Mimi..I love you big
Accidentally caught on to this series and it is by far the best one out of many I have watched. All the actors and actresses were superb and I love the young spoiled prince and the young princess of Monan. Absolutely recommend this!

Overall the story was good but... Am I the only one who thinks it took a while for them to show believable romantic affection for each other? The ending lacked that affection together instead we get an eagle and her looking up at it (what about that drink with his brother?) Didn't feel believable romance wise but more like really good friends. Love both actors especially Dilreba since eternal love/eternal love of dream and more but overall the romance lacked believability at least for me.🤷♀️

_ great khan wake up and talk
_ they go visit the little princess

I've gotta say.. i think Hao Du's and Leyan's love story was more engaging and sweet to me, i absolutely adore their character development together! I didn't like Hao Du at first, but he quickly grew onto me and now he's my favourite character.

Before I thought that Hao du's father is a bad guy but after a long time until this episode, he waited for his son to bring back the victory, to make sure that his country is safe and peaceful, so he can leave without worried. It shows that most of them always put their country first and more important than their own life, their happiness as long as their people can live happily that's enough.
I like the love story of li changge and ashile sun its not the usual love story that weve seen ,their love is pure and unselfish that they respect each others freedom and support each others decision they are not forcing anything for themselves for as long as they knew that they love each other nothing else matter just like what they both said "its enough to have you in my life" and also changge already accepted asun marrige proposal and claimed that he is already his husband ..

Well, it was said that the princess saved his life. That's a life debt. Just like A sun can not go against Khagan, he can't help but obeying the princess either. The same case for Hao du.
They just happen to stand on different sides and if it's not for Le yan, Haodu might have not started to think and decide on his own either. It was Leyan who woke him up with her slap, that someone should not be like a puppet all his life and that there are many ways to be loyal. For A sun's case, it was also Changge who told him that he does't need to betray Khagan to follow his own conscience.
That's when he decided to disband his troops and fake their death.
It's actually a good thing that Khagan is paralyzed now, otherwise it wouldn't have been easy for A sun either. Because Khahan was still his life saviour and the one raising him, despite his harsh treatment.

I completely agree and a special mention to all the kids' actors/actresses, in a good or villain role, they were all so good; the one playing the spoiled crown prince captured all the emotions so well , annoying, fussy, arrogant cute, and sweet in the end. This is in my top three dramas, along with The Rebel Princess and Who rules the world. A brilliant script and good acting make all the difference.🙂

Everyone on the show from oldest to youngest, villains and protagonists acted so beautifully and my I add they were all so gorgeous. I am so glad Sher and Sun didn't kill each other and remained brothers. Nevertheless I wondered how is the war general Li Jing related to Li Changhe and the king since his surname is Li? Is he her uncle, far relative or just happened to have same last names
Li Changge is a daughter of Li Jian the Crown Prince of Tang and supposed heir to the throne.
I think general li Probably was her teacher. She had many teachers when she was young
They aren't related. It was just a common surname. You have to remember that the Li family that she belonged to were originally part of the military aristocracy and they rose up and overthrew the Sui dynasty. Wu Lei is such a versatile actor. I've been binging his dramas and films lately and what I'll say is that he can convincingly carry any type of role...down to earth, youthful, funny ones...all the way to super mature, serious, and cold characters like Ashile Sun and Ling Buyi. Amazing actor. He's athletic, has great form/great energy, and is so fantastic in action sequences. His horsemanship is also noteworthy.

Khatun how much ever scheme she planted she planted on her own she is a strong lady afterall. She led the whole country herself that's also a bravery. She even suffered 30 years for her kingdom for her so called adopted family. I really liked her acting. Strong character needs to be applauded.

Damn sun saved changge for atleast infinite times..but the love between changge and sun is unique, pure and unconditional...The way changge becomes shy when Sun said sweet words..the way they risk their lives for one another and they are two warriors and the love story of warriors will always be like this..
Loved the setting of grasslands and the background music during the scenes of Eagle Division. A beautiful story so well portrayed, sweet and simple. Ashile Sun and Emperor Li Shimin, these two characters in particular were my favourite and the actors did justice to the role. The relationship between Du Hao and his father was also beautifully directed and likewise that of Ashile Sun and Sh'er. As for relationship of Ashile Sun's with his father Great Khan, I wish they had gone a lil more in detail, it would've been more satisfying. Journey of Princess Leiyan was also inspiring. And Sigh! Thank God! Li Changge gave Ashile Sun positive response, cuz having watched many Chinese period dramas I was afraid Li Changge, being a warrior and rebel, might not reciprocate Ashile Sun's feelings or restrain herself from getting into relationship or something. But it didn't turn out like that which I'm glad for. Most importantly, the lesson was so beautiful and an utter truth which we need to learn. We need to let go of differences, hatred and revenge to live in Peace. Love the team Long Ballad and Thank you! Thank you for making this project possible. And Thank You the channel to upload on RUclips especially for international viewers to watch with English subtitles.

Sticking to real history would have been better, partly because Yicheng is a rather weak villain. I also feel sorry for the real historic Yicheng, who does not deserve to be portrayed in such a manner. In fact, the historic Yicheng helped to save lots of lives and had a hard life herself.
All in all, the second half of the entire show clearly lags behind the first half, which was truly epic. But it could have been worse...

She saved lives of many by marrying into Eastern Turkic Khaganate and spend 30 years of her life with them. Maybe she just wanted to be acknowledged not because she got married to save the country but because she is, afterall, a princess.
@@angeladelapena5555 That has a point too. Sui was weak at that moment. Without her sacrifice, their citizens would have been massacred during war.. it was known that the nomad tribes were cruel to the commoners when they occupied the cities.
Changge is actually lucky to meet great people through her journey, people who can open her mind and keep her from going astray driven by hatred.
Yicheng was not so fortunate like her.
She's just a delicate princess who can only rely on her beauty and wit, physically weak and without support in the foreign land.
Without Leimeng's help she was powerless to do anything.
She had to suffer humiliation marrying 4 different men for her own survival.
Considering the confucian's teaching she had in mainland, it was a disgrace.
Her suffering is what changed her into a scheming merciless woman.
Sheer's father sounds like a rather nice father and husband, but that was probably also the reason why he didn't stay long.
Sheer is probably taking after his father, too naive that made him easily to be deceived.
He was already the 3rd man for Yicheng, so her personality has already been twisted by then.
Experiencing such things for 30 years... it is not so easy not to have a personality disorder.
@@Anakiwiify Yeahh... for those years of sufferings... I can't really imagine anyone being that brave. If I'm going to re-watch this series, I probably end up understanding more the villains. Villains may be villains because of their selfishness, but those selfishness has a story to be told.
This series has been the most amazing experience. I loved each and every moment of it. From the cast, the heroes, the romance, the morals, the animation ...everyone did an amazing job on ; The Long Ballad... 49 episodes was totally worth it. Stunning, watching from RSA much love

They are together living the way they wanted free and happy in the countryside. She told her mum after reading his marriage proposal at her shrine that she she accepts him as her husband.
They didnt give us the cliché ending (getting married, kids, life away from the palace) in return I will never forget their sweet moments and just assume what their happy life will be.😂

Wow..This is just the best I have watched in a long while. I laughed, I screamed, I cried and it all boils down to Love! For country, for oneself, for family, for acquaintances and the desire to see us grow. I understand the ending. Sun and Changed gets married and still watch over one another. I didn't really like the fact that Mimi died. It really Hurst me but it's part of it. Shout out to all the team. Sun, changed, mu jin, sher, Mimi..I love you big
Accidentally caught on to this series and it is by far the best one out of many I have watched. All the actors and actresses were superb and I love the young spoiled prince and the young princess of Monan. Absolutely recommend this!
