Great video and new subscriber here. I just put down a down payment on Grizzly 700 se the other day and ordered the Megabites from Rocky Mountain on the same day and now have them stting in my garage, 2 days later. I'm taking them to the dealership on the day picking up the atv and have them mounted before leaving from there.
I have the trail troopers also. I got the radials and not the bias as the make both. They are a bighorn knockoff but better price. They are six ply but are durable and makes them lighter and more comfortable.
I considered the bear claws also but then I read so many mixed reviews where some people said they had a bad vibration that couldn't be balanced out so I didn't want to take the chance

@@edkowalczyk2375 honestly these are the biggest I would go unless you're not worried about power. Also an 11-in wide tire turning up front is really not going to feel good
Hi. trying to decide between two tusk tires for my grizzly. I'm in northern AZ and where I hunt is sharp rocks (lavarocks) and sharp roots. I want a tire that can handle sharp rocks and roots better than the zillas. Debating between the terrabites and the megabites. I think the terrabites would be more puncture resistant due to tighter lugs but I feel like they would throw rocks like crazy. I also feel like the megabites wont throw rocks because the lugs are more spaced apart but they have more open voids probably making it more prone to puncture from those sharp rocks. Since you have had both, what would be your vote?
I run lots of rocks .boulders in Pa I find Kenda Bear Claw Htr’s at 10 to 12 psi handle everything in similar terrain to you except for lava rocks we don’t have those in Pa. My friend runs Megabites and they also perform good his tires run lower psi 5 to 6 . The Kenda will last longer if you do lots of road riding . That’s the only difference I see between the 2. You didn’t ask my opinion but I do know picking tires will drive someone crazy. I will never run anything but the Kendas from now on they fit what I do perfectly . The Kendas 26x11x14 weigh 28lbs not mounted. Hope that helps
I was surprised at the Zillas on my 22 SE. Definitely not a great rock/trail tire compared to Megabite type tire but really performs better all around than I thought it would. While very nice wheels, I wasn't a fan of the 14 inch rim, considering first ride out almost pinched a flat and really doesnt have a lot of tire between the ground and the rim. I went with OEM yamaha Grizz 12 inch rims and went with Kenda Bearclaw HTRs for more tire between rim and ground. Rides like a dream.
Yes but as i explained i wanted same all around like factory for handling and being able to rotate them. Also the factory rims are wide and have no rim protection with a 9" wide in front on the stock rims because they are 8" wide.
@@OdysseyOffroad Great video. So the stock rims are 8" wide right? Unfortunately Rocky Mountain ATV doesn't sell the 27-10-14 anymore. You have to go up to a 28" for that.
@@hoopersbbq oh man that stinks. I wouldn't want to run 28s to me the 27th with these big 14x8 wheels from the factory are way too heavy. If I had to do it all over I would get 12-in rims by seven wide with a nice 25-in tire.
@@OdysseyOffroadGreat advice because my 2018 Grizzly SE came with 12” rims factory. Inspired by your video, I considered moving up to 14” rims but if you’re having issues with the weight of them I may stick with 12” rims.
@@hoopersbbq Yes the ones with the 12-in rims and 25-in tires are going to be much faster the grizzly 700 just doesn't have enough down low to move these meats if you like good throttle response and a playful power in the low RPM range.
I don't disagree that the trail riding will improve over the maxis units the vehicle ships with. I have a 2022 or 23 Grizzly (I cant remember, I've had it for a year) I was thinking Kenda Bearclaws for all around while making damn near any quad super nimble. I've had quads for 30+ years and I've tried many. The Mudlites I put on my vinson were fantastic but too heavy...I should have done the lesser of the 3 mudlites they had available. Wasn't and still isnt a challenge. Just a discussion on what could possible make my grizzly 700 even better than it already is...just like yours. I am curious on the rev limiter/top rpm before and after the change for you. @@OdysseyOffroad
@@mjethier I did a top speed run with the new tires on it I can't remember what it was but there's a short video on the channel. @@OdysseyOffroadand it was a piss poor factory choice. Too wide for a front tire. Fyi, proper inflated tire will provide same rim rim protection on an 8, 9 or 10 wide. The lip is still exposed. If the tire has a rim guard built in, that will protect it
