I think the question is about Schupen belt which stretched from Tizit to Digboi Assam where there is lots of mineral crude oil, coal etc. It is locally pronounce as Sangphen something like that

Nowadays Naga UPSC aspirants are so fortunate... The mainlanders are following an inclusive "Act East" policy that has been making it easier for Naga and other Northeast people to pass UPSC Exams. The Korean wave also plays a role .. It's observed that mainland Indians are now proud of having Korean-looking people as Indians. 😅
So, it's the Act East policy that is allowing the Naga aspirants to clear the UPSC CSE exam?

act east is a foreign policy for eastern neighbours. I don't think UPSC will recruit any one just because of looks. It may be right ythat UPSC want to give some chairs to tribals and North East so for proper share of nationalism into them.
Champang or Changpang oilfields is in the district of Wokha where the ONGC drills for oil resources ! at 2:02 seconds !
Champang may not be a range,but it is a name of an administrative sub divisional hq presently known as Aboi. In nagaland, "Range" can mean several villages comprised within a definite geographical area. Champang is a term given by local inhabitants but preferred to change into present day Aboi.
His answer was satisfactory with regard to Nagaland and NE region but seems that our brother is not so well versed or prepared with his major subjects.

No! There is an ADC town called Aboi, which in olden days called “Champhang” under Mon district. Still older people call Champhang.

Champang is the oldest name of Aboi Town (presently). The Post office of Aboi Town is still known as Champang Post office till date. But the interviewer is talking about Suppan hill, not those towns.
