You are a legend. In Asia, there is no fishing expert could explain it in such a detailed way. Thank you, master. I am gonna beat the Asia anglers with this tips.
do you have a video about your catfish rigs? I see in this video you have a bobber down by the bait below the weight. what is that rig called and do you have a how to video on that rig
Hello! I love everything about the whisker seeker rods, but there are no places near me I can have one in hand before purchase. I love the idea of a longer rod like the 9'6", but I don't know if it's not too heavy of a rod for me. The 7'6" models offer lighter rods, but a bit short for my liking. I fish for channel cats from the bank, big carp from the bank on big rivers, 30lbs +, and I know the linger rod will be able to handle them, but I don't know if it will be too heavy of a rod or not. Any advice is appreciated. Tight lines!
Hey Chad, how are you? I noticed on your video that you have a Orange float just up from the hook, my question is how does it work and how far from the hook is it? Enjoying your video's too.
Lately I've been hitting the red river for channel cats fishing with 6/0 circle hooks. I used to let them get a big run in and it would hook itself, but lately they aren't picking it up and running. They just give a few solid tugs so I tried setting the hook and that the only way I've been landing them. I don't know if it was the time of year that's making them act different or if I'm doing something different but it's weird.
I've noticed that in December and January, the were slow like your talking about. Just pecking at it. But now they are mote aggressive. Yesterday, i go to my normal spot. Usually a couple"shakers." But this time they were grabbing and taking off fast. I must have caught about 10 fish!!! Thanks for the video...circle hooks work pretty darn good. So far...
***** Man, I guess you got the reel because your sponsored. I gotta wait till September 9th. lol I am looking forward to this reel. What is your oppion on the Berkley Lightning rod shock series?
Loved your videos I never dreamed of use ing such big hooks I thank u so much I am still learning God bless u and your family be save don’t catch all the fish leave a pair ha ha
I personally don't like circle hooks, the fish i go for are usually shy and don't entirely grab the bait. i tried out circle hooks for a while and i missed a ton of hits compared to treble hooks. i tried treble hooks and i very rarely miss hits. like i almost always catch the fish hahaha it takes forever to unhook them but at least i wont lose them during the fight or miss them entirely.
Circle hooks don't work on fish with teeth like the Wallago Attu in India and Pakistan. The hooks is unable to slide to the corner of the mouth . learnt it the have d way.
Catfish Edge thanks for the reply, I'm not fishing for the gar, they just steal my bait while I'm fishing for catfish. Gar must not be in real deep water. Do you ever have a problem with them?
I somehow had a circle hook go through a catfish's head! I had to take the circle hook out to get my swivel out of its head. The catfish was fine, but it was crazy seeing that happen.
What is your (or any here) opinion on circle hooks vs Khale hooks? I have had a lot of great hook sets with Khales and they work similar to a circle. Opinions?
***** Thanks for your replies. Why do you lean towards circle over khales? I'm not knocking circles. I'm new to circles but khales seem to do the same thing.
Sorry my previous post ? didnt post..phone issues..i was asking if the bobber really keeps the bait up off the bottom..my cut bait pieces gotta weigh 1 1/2-3 ounces..be nice to see the rig baited underwater say a pool with clear water to see
Too big of a circle hook for a channel catfish will set the hook in there eye, 2/0 - 4/0 is all you need for channel catfish! I am saying this because to many folks are catching smaller blues and channel catfish with missing eyes, not cool! We the catfishermen need to be the ones who care about the game we seek to go after! THANKS
InKa4484 I use team catfish circle hooks and I set the hook same as I would with a J hook and I've never pulled the hook out of their mouth. I get more hook up since I started using circle hooks. I bank fish and use bait clickers.
The Crusader, baitfeeder reels have a flip switch on them that engages a very light drag with an audible clicking noise which allows the fish to take line without feeling resistance as well as sounding an alarm giving you time to set your beer down and pick up your rod. They work well with circle hooks because all you need to do is turn the crank on the reel and it disengages the baitfeeder and sets the hook when you reel up the slack and put tension on the line. I have an Okuma Avenger ABF 65 on a 12' medium/heavy Daiwa Beefstick. My only complaint is the clicker on this reel is not very audible and seems rather quiet, if I bought a new baitfeeder today I think it would be the KastKing Sharky III 6000, the audible clicking feature on this reel as I've seen on RUclips reviews gives a much more satisfying "click" hope this helps, both reels can be found on Amazon, but try your local mom and pop tackle shop first before you give your money to a big box store or online retailer.

Thank you that was very helpful
So using a rod holder with a tight line do I use a tight drag or loose? For the first two methods
You set your drag normally/correctly.
Brand new to catfishing, LOVE your videos and site. Any solution for only having fast action rods? I'd hate to have to plunk down money for new rods.
Charles, use what you have and learn and adjust from there!

May be, sometimes they do that here also when the water is warming

Do you keep the drag tight or very loose? I’ve heard the latter so they can run with it.
Normal drag setting for the line you’re using
Great video. I missed three the other day before I figured out how to catch the fish. Are you related to Perry Stone? You talk just like him.
+Rad Reeling Fishing no idea who that is. Sorry
how can i cast the reel further because if i do it a little hard it tangles
Adjust the spool tension. There's a video on our channel explaining it.
let me find it
Yes Brandon Harris it is the new Abu catfish reel.
***** Man, I guess you got the reel because your sponsored. I gotta wait till September 9th. lol I am looking forward to this reel. What is your oppion on the Berkley Lightning rod shock series?

Yes
Have not ever used my Bait clicker will try now
Hope it works well for you!
What kind of hook is that?
HOTexasCatfish That's a Daiichi circle chunk light
How do you hook a gar with a circle hook? Tired of them stealing my cut bait
Use a big treble hook
Catfish Edge thanks for the reply, I'm not fishing for the gar, they just steal my bait while I'm fishing for catfish. Gar must not be in real deep water. Do you ever have a problem with them?

Happens sometimes depends on type of circle hook and size.
Is there a real good advantage to using circle hooks??
Yes, when used correctly they're highly effective,
what if im useing a close gap hook
I'm not sure what that is.
Good info. Thanks. Just Sub'd
Thanks
