      I experienced corruption from rcmp in Alberta.
      There is even a youtube video of an rcmp sheriff saying "I do it because I can", in regards to a request of Passport from a passenger in a car during a traffic stop.

    The RCMP are now "reviewing" that Officer's actions.
    There is no denying it.. Anyone who honestly reviews that video can clearly see the Officer actually LEANS in to essentially shoulder butt Menzies!.. like wth is this nonsense.
    Whether you like Menzies or not is completely irrelevant here. That Officer clearly attempted to orchestrate a false arrest (for whatever reasons) and this needs to be investigated.

    He wasn't charged? Then he was illegally detained on a pretext, which is pretty obvious from the video. Accidentally bumping into someone is not "assault", but what the police did to Menzies, without grounds for arrest, is.

      What's worse is it wasn't accidental. The RCMP officer intentionally and suddenly put his arm in David's path. The officer intentionally caused the initial contact, and then the officer assaulted David. The officer refused to identify himself, further blurring any clarity on whether David was legitimately dealing with law enforcement. The officer should be personally named as well as the government in a lawsuit.

    That RCMP officer definitely entrapped that guy. He purposely walked straight towards him and bumped him then immediately accusing the other guy of assault. Absolutely dispicable. It's all on Video. I'm no lawyer but I would think this guy has a great case against that officer. I respect law enforcement 💯 but not when they pull stunts like this. At the same time with all the wackos out there in the general public I understand politicians and their security being a little paranoid and extra careful but come on that was just a dirty stunt.

    look at the actions and body language of Freeland's aide. She moves out of the way of the Officer and then glances at him as if to signal for him to move in and deliberately barge into Menzies. A clearly contrived and pre-planned strategy to which Freeland seemingly is well aware of. This action alone should secure a successful prosecution.

Of course, I don't condone this bust, but it's not entrapment. It's a false arrest with the cop making false statements for why David Menzies is being arrested. His statements make no sense. David Menzies walks into the arm of a plain clothes cop and doesn't even know that the guy is a cop at the time. How can that be "assault of a police officer"? Someone says David Menzies is under the influence. If he was, then, the cops could have easily arrested him for being intoxicated in a public place and easily make that charge stick. Obviously, then, David Menzies was not intoxicated.

    Not a fan of the reporter, but come on. The guy did absolutely NOTHING wrong and didnt even touch her. He then gets assaulted by her security goons and arrested while she walks away smirking, as does her assistant. He is 100% within his rights to sue the rcmp.

    Since when did Uncle Fester get a job with the RCMP? The only reason he was released without charges is because they realized the whole thing was filmed, otherwise he would've been charged with assault and it would be Uncle Fester's word against the reporter. Shameful policing!

    Why did the York Police Department willingly go along with this sham arrest. They knew it was unjustified and without merit but participated in the arrest only to take Menzies away and release him with no charges. If they recognized this was a false arrest they should have told the RCMP security detail to immediately let him go and possibly looked at charging that officer with assault based on his actions.

    No matter how you feel about this reporter personally, you should be very concerned that someone can be jailed for attempting to have difficult questions answered.
    The morality of a person/group can be determined by their ability to treat someone they hate fairly.

    It appeared to me that the RCMP officer moved in front of David and bumped into him. The police were obviously following instructions and the only question is instructions from whom? My guess is the orders were sent down from the PMO's office.
