How is the state of this game? I just started and it seems like an extremely fun game but it seems like there’s not much content on it. Is the daily players lower than it should be? What holds it back?
@@sukkisukki7663 It just introduces most basic events you don't want to miss as an f2p player. There is plenty of things you can do outside of story mode. Like memory rescue (it's one time event tho) Golden wortex, Norman stages, graduate operation, hidden chapter (basically some things happening behind the scenes), events other than the shown ones, editional chapters that refers to some events outside of struggle against punishing virus

And reach serten level is not something that will hold you back for long if you follow the advice and do your guide missions as each will increase your lv by one at a time no matter how much exp you need.
@@sukkisukki7663 And basically if you reach lv 60 all activities should be unlocked but you would be able to clear it all around lv 70+ and lv 80 should be the last threshold to your construct max battle power. extra tip: once you get one strong-enough character, you can do the coop entirely by yourself, by just choosing the easiest difficulty and defeating the boss solo, its not required to have 3 players for that. Its really not that hard there and still counts towards 21-count toward weapon shards. You only need to enter at the right hour
now as long as one of your dps char has total bp >5500, u can literally solo boss on nightmare difficulty without any problems. Another good thing is you can pick any card at the end of match without other players pick first. It's a pain when you see others pick a 5 star weapon while you have the blue one.
Extra Tips: if you miss a Warzone stage due to being busy, etc. you can use suicide method to get all the BC rewards for the week. But note this only works for the first 2 stages of a warzone stage. You can repeat this suicide method as many times as you need. (deploy 1 weak af unit and get them killed, this will count as 1 successful warzone clear for the weekly mission) For Pain Cage, you can also do the suicide method with weaker units, so you can save the limited attempts of your strongest team for Chaos and Hell stages which give higher scores in general.
Some extra stuff I have learned/been told since starting last patch. Gacha rates are low, but pity is also fairly low, and the new character has a 100% chance to drop if you hit a 6*. This means that can you will generally expect to ALWAYS hit pity when rolling, but you'll never get the wrong 6* character. This makes rolling fairly consistent in a way, since you know you probably aren't getting lucky, you can just plan on spending 15,000 cards to get the new character to begin with and forget about RNG screwing you over. (Expect 15k per new 6* character, and 10k per 6* weapon. Banners do transfer pity, but only within their own banner type. So for this patch, say you only get to 40/60 pity for some reason, and miss out on Liv (oof that'd suck), you'll have 40/60 sitting for the next Themed Construct (Dark Selena). If you are starting during this patch though, do your best to get Liv if you can. She's pretty fun to play with :D You have some opportunities to reset a novice missions into an easier to accomplish one. Take advantage of that so you don't miss out just because you haven't gotten high enough to unlock war zone or pain cage for instance. I had that happen my first 2 weeks since I wasn't able to play much. One thing that not many people ever mention in these guides is event content from the perspective of a new player. So to keep it simple Yes, you do participate in new events as much as you can as a new player. You don't need to touch the new story content added, you can do that content as you catch up in story and no you don't miss out on any rewards from having not skipped ahead. The farming stages where you obtain event currency can be cleared extremely low level and are always more efficient then the Resource stages. This event currency, as mentioned in the video, is how you gear your characters with memories (and upgrade your memories with duplicates of those same memories). In any case, if you need some sort of resource like cogs or upgrade materials, the current event is the best way to get them. If you want to know what memories to work on for a character, the website mention in the video (greyravens com) has recommended sets for every character. Sometimes there is more then one depending on what you are using them for, and even if we've gotten to a certain patch or not. Fully leveling a character to 80, maxing their skills, leveling their weapons and memories will take a bit of time per character. Expect to only have a handful of maxed characters within the first couple months. This guide actually taught me about Co-op btw, I didn't realize there was a way to get 5* weapons without gacha... That's all that comes to mind rn. Goodluck and have fun! Oh and if you have any questions feel free to ask. EDIT: One more thing At some point you unlock this thing called Simulated Siege, it's like a board game where you land on certain tiles to get rewards. Try to get all the rewards shown on the bottom left every week. You get get more turns to move every day. This is one of the ways you get currency for the Base R&D banner, the standard banner. It's located in the Missions screen, in the bottom left, called Operation Guardians. Click on that to get into it. (I had trouble finding it after my first time...) EDIT 2: One more thing The CN server is 1.5 years ahead of our server. Yes you did not read that wrong... So if you see a new character announced, then expect not too see them for quite awhile. I remember when global came out and I happened to see Pulao gameplay and thought about trying the game out. I didn't have time for a new game back then, so I put it off until recently. Turns out, that character I saw a year and a half ago that I thought was really cool...isn't even out for another another TWO patches. Lmao
@@Lifeath_Heavell You think its horrible? What about a chinese game that doesn't support chinese input language for the global server. As a overseas chinese player its just felt like we r abandoned by the dev
Dude, thank you for making this video, it is really helpful. I didn't fully follow it as (I) usually when beginning we want to pick characters we like for their design, rather than for meta purposes; team building turns being important later in the game. And (II), I found Memory equipping to be very useful, specially considering Alfie's matrix inducing skill and Da Vinci's QTE skill; I believe these would be worth mentioning for beginners. Other than that, I agree 100%. It allowed me to (in 3 weeks) reach level 75, having leveled up 4 characters to SS and another 2 to S, all fully equipped at 5 star and level 35, and getting 7 of my favorite 8 characters (available in current patch), using your advice and the rewards available for beginners. Thank you so much. The info, editing and narration you put into it is also top tier.
This helped me a lot, I dropped before cause I couldn't figure a way of getting stronger, now she's at least a thousand BP stronger and I can progress story
There was another game i played for like 2 months that had almost the exact same stuff and layouts as this game. Can't even remember the name anymore. So i'll be fine. Thanks for the recommendations.
This seems very well put together, but considering it's for newbies I'd have to reccomend Karenina : Ember, because of her simplicity and later on(roughly chapter 8-9) you get 4 5* memories that enhance basic attacks from the mission, meaning that on top of her playability, she gets a massive mid-late game buff
Karenina is deff easy too play but she's the weaker S rank tbh, even Lee palefire will be better dos than her once he gets his ascension buff, but honestly I recommend going for anyone you enjoy playing, you can't go wrong with having fun. Thank you very much for the comment, I have more quality PGR content coming soon, next video will be up hopefully next week 😁
Just my opinion, but when you create a beginner's guide, then immediately drop 20+ terms that a beginner doesn't know, you instantly lose your audience. Didn't watch past the 3 minute mark due to this...
you don’t understand how helpful this was 😭😭 i literally got into the game because the characters were SO FIEHIDIDJS and the amount of stuff there was to comprehend 😭😭
Makes me so happy to know the video was able to help, I know it’s a lot of info but the game is a lot simpler than it looks, just takes time to understand like most things but if you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to ask ♥️
As a retuning player (I played on launch and lost tablet due to age) I'm also waiting for a certain character to get (Alpha Crimson Weave, also if I can Noan Auberge), but this is very helpful.
ADDITIONAL ADVICES: 1. Event character banner & their respective weapon are started ONE DAY AFTER the maintenance, don't rush or confused if you didn't see their banner. 2. DO NOT be hasty and pull event character in fate banner; check twice before pulling. Noob mistake, glad I'm lucked out. 3. DO NOT forget to change weapon wish priority to what you want. Again, noob mistake. But again, it has 80% droprate, so don't be surprised if other 6* weap dropped. 4. A rank construct aren't inherently bad per se, and Support class often used even in near future. Even more so if you don't have the DMG dealer. 5. Guides are everywhere, make use of it, but I'd recommend to watch from the very beginning to avoid misinformation. 6. Consider buying monthly pass, aside for supporting Kurogame, it's nice to have spare BC in case you fail to complete event stage or simply for pulling character. 7. IF you're a spender, consider buying battle pass starting from Selena patch (next one), the rewards are increased & you get BP currency to buy character shard; it starts with only S Selena, but other character added later on. 8. DON'T bother buying other packs, as they're generally expensive & honestly inefficient.
@@jairogarcia6857 we got Surviving Lucem ongoing right now; great event for good construct S Liv. However, if you just starting right now, I'm afraid you won't be able to pull ALL of available character. BUT. As beginner, it should be easy to gain 15k BC to pull on her as early as, at worst, in a week. Surviving lucem event will last for ~10 more days. Every patch right now usually follow rule of: S construct > Transcendent > S construct > Transcendent > rinse & repeat. As general rule, pull new S construct, then save BC on next patch, rinse & repeat. However, there are times when this rule is broken, and it's exactly in next event where there will be another S construct; if you're new, don't bother pulling for her, you can grind her later. Btw, there's no dead week in PGR AFAIK, there's always event back to back, but you'll still given enough gacha currency if you only plan to pull one copy.

U dont really need Transcendat as new player, mostly they jst used in Babel and Norman war, both of which is endgame content, and if u need it for SS or guild mission , my crew (CultOfTuru) discussed that actually all trial is better then SS Trans without 6* weapon. Jst ignore transcendant till u are at a stable endgame (tldr ignore them till u build main 4 element of construct team) 2. SS tier priority ( In my opinion) First SS priority is mostly Tank line before anything else since they either provide additional def shred or def shred on Qte which is a better modifier for dmg output for entire team (Vera is exxeption, but then again she is very awkward to play at base S rank and she is strong enough for main dps anyway).
I play to enjoy the game, enjoy the story with the characters I like But the problem is every character provided by the game is so appealing, their designs, and movesets are so cool
Be careful of recommending ppl to use black card on standard banner around 3:50. It's okay to use blackcard for maybe last couple pull but if ppl use blackcard for like 10 pulls or something, that's a bit dangerous.
I recommend it for the last few pulls and it really depends on the patch the player started playing on but most likely they'll have to spend some bc to be able to hit the first pity of 40, wait til free base banner ticket which can take very long or new players can buy the beginner bundle which I don't like recommending so they will be able to hit pity without spending bc.
nice guide. there's been an influx of newbies and returnees since Nier rerun. now if only they'd stick around and i can finally have a student of mines graduate.
Thank you! And yesss I know right lol, what's helped me find students that stick around is to look at the character roster and coating, usually if they have the debut character or coatings for characters they are more likely to stick around and continue playing.

Appreciate the guide, even though all the information is overwhelming. Hopefully by getting familiar with the game, I'll be able to put this info to use. I have two questions, if you could answer them. I started playing the game yesterday thanks to seeing Alpha and some Crimson Weave clips and wanted to ask if it's possible to get Alpha and how effective she is to getting me through the majority of the content in the game. I assume she's a gacha character but I can't really find when she reruns, unless she's a standard roster character.
You could potentially get her from standard banner if your lucky, but like you said you'd have to wait for her rerun, her last rerun was I believe 2 reruns ago and Alpha is deff good enough to get you through most of the content but you'll want to build a team around her and also work on building more teams of different elements
So there is one thing you need to know There is two Alpha one is first version currently running on global server and other is latest version currently on chinese server. Chinese server is one year ahead. Right now we have only crimson abyss with us. But you seem to be wanting crimson weaver the one with blue eye. You can get her 100% if you start now and even duplicate her to evolve to SS, SSS, SSS+
@@tatarigami-no-kami Back when I wrote this comment, I was talking about Crimson Abyss, as I knew that CW hadn't released yet. I started playing the game a few days later and I've been playing till now, so I'm very aware of everything you said already.

Day 1 player, made a hiatus after the first NieR collab (and came back online for The Last Spark). Who was Alpha "replaced" for? The to-be-released Bianca on Global? Despite having a built a2 SSS carry team, the alpha/rosetta/liv team still works wonders imo.
That is a lot of things to not do, never do and avoid. Was looking for something more digestible than a list of things from start to finish to not do with no explanation as to why. Now I'm feeling a bit more hesitant towards playing since it seems like any number of small missteps results in breaking these rules.

I'm a bit confused here, about the team building thingy. Most start out with Lucia, Liv and nanami and it takes time to eventually get those A tier characters. So to progress the story how does one exactly build up those base 3 characters until you get the others.
I’m a little confused with your question but I’ll try to answer it to the best of my ability. you don’t want to put to much resources into those 3 since the story at early stages are pretty easy, you’ll unlock R&D and that’s when you’ll be able to pull for other A rank characters and eventually pull a S rank at 40 pulls for beginners.
Not sure if you'll see this but I've got the budget dark team you recommend. Should I now try and grab extra copies of them to get XXI / Vera - Rozen to higher rank (there's a guide collaborative mission that requires me to get a unit to SSS), or should I try and pull for other A rank units to lay the groundwork for other elements? Thanks for the video btw, I keep coming back to it to make sure I'm not forgetting things daily/weekly ahah
Use serum on shards for your favorite A rank, the metas changing significantly with the new gen 2 characters - at this point just pull for A ranks you enjoy.
1 week player here. Followed your guide on using dark team and it worked very well!!. Reached lvl 50 today and managed to open the 40 pity-banner, I got S rosetta. Now I'm torn between developing that dark team or making a new one that revolves around her.😖😖 Any tips?
Wow lucky you, Rosetta is the best physical tank in the game, you should deff use your s rank selector on Liv Luminance as she’s going to be the best physical support when she gets buffed, as for a physical attacker you can use Karenina A rank for the time being and either pull for Alpha when we get out free s rank selector in May or just stay with Rosetta, Liv, and Karenina until S Rank Bianca Abystigma debut sometime in September, she’s by far the best physical attacker and straight up takes a dump on any other physical attackers. If you decide to wait til Bianca Abystigma banner, you’ll use Rosetta as main physical dps and Karenina as sub dps, Rosetta does some real good dmg herself even though she’s a tank and will also get a buff later down the road. All that said, I’d still work on dark team and then Rosetta, if you ever have extra Black cards, try going for her weapon, it doubles her def shred and is one of the most valuable weapons to get for a character.
@@AuronXigbar Cool!. I guess I'll try using rosetta first to see if I like the moveset, otherwise I'll stick to my dark team. Thanks for the guide, it helps a lot!!
9:34 is it wise to wait for events The Second Pain to unlock or even the Third one? Or is it that this purple event currency dropping in the same amount?
@@AuronXigbar he meant the event resource stages. the first stage drops more purple currency than the 2nd stage which has a chance to drop random 6* memo. The upcoming Second, Third and so on "pains" carries on your current level in which you can automatically claim the reward once they are unlocked.
"The First Pain": Stage 1 = Big amount Purple Currency, Stage 2 = Memory Drops and small amount of Purple Currency "The Second Pain": Stage 3 = Big amount Purple Currency, Stage 4 = Memory Drops and small amount of Purple Currency ... and etc. They are all the same events but the difference is that they have different maps and monsters in the stages.
spend them on event farming stages once you hit lvl 40, tbh you can skip the first 9 story chapters and honestly that's probably not a bad thing for new players since your not missing the best parts of the story and only can read it later if you want via the codex in game.
2B need A2 and 9s to be viable but if you enjoy playing her she's still viable for casual event content and story, she just won't be viable by herself if you are looking to score high in Pain Cage or War zone.

It's located in the Missions screen, in the bottom left, called Operation Guardians. Click on that to get into it. (I had trouble finding it after my first time...)
EDIT 2: One more thing
The CN server is 1.5 years ahead of our server.
Lmao
Man... I though Arknights 6 months CN ahead than global is suck, but what the hell is 1,5 years

This is one of the best beginner guide videos I've ever seen, thank you for the effort you put into this
Glad it was helpful!
I literally started playing today. Thank you for the guide!
Welcome to the game, hope you have fun, just an FYI the story gets really good after chapter 8.
Oooh very nice! This is gonna help new players alot! 102 here myself, always good to see the community helping out!
Glad we have a vet with us in the comment section, glad you enjoyed the video, i have more quality PGR content coming soon!
I started playing today. Your guide is very helpful since I tend to get confused with what to do at the beginning of some games. Thank you for help!

Thank you so much for this guide it helped me graduate in less than a month.
There was another game i played for like 2 months that had almost the exact same stuff and layouts as this game. Can't even remember the name anymore. So i'll be fine. Thanks for the recommendations.
Very thorough video! Since the game is launching on PC this coming Monday, this is exactly what I was looking for, cheers!
i am late for this video but thanks alot, i have just started pgr and i really needed some help on what to do so yeah
I’m happy I could be of help, thank you for the comment.

It's my second day on playing this game this guide somehow eased my mind because somehow I'm not doing any stupid decisions when i watched this
Just my opinion, but when you create a beginner's guide, then immediately drop 20+ terms that a beginner doesn't know, you instantly lose your audience. Didn't watch past the 3 minute mark due to this...
I had zero issues understanding. Must be you.

Ngl This guide is clean 💯% recommended
ADDITIONAL ADVICES:
Bro i want to start, Is there an event these days?
@@wisdoom9153 so i grind and pull on the new Liv? The one on the banner right? Thanks for the help

@@AuronXigbar Thou if i had to say
1. U dont really need Transcendat as new player, mostly they jst used in Babel and Norman war, both of which is endgame content, and if u need it for SS or guild mission , my crew (CultOfTuru) discussed that actually all trial is better then SS Trans without 6* weapon. Jst ignore transcendant till u are at a stable endgame (tldr ignore them till u build main 4 element of construct team)
2. SS tier priority ( In my opinion)
First SS priority is mostly Tank line before anything else since they either provide additional def shred or def shred on Qte which is a better modifier for dmg output for entire team (Vera is exxeption, but then again she is very awkward to play at base S rank and she is strong enough for main dps anyway).
I dont really understand yett . But can i join the yowai stuffs

Damn this was kind of nostalgic. Haven't touched the game in months.

nice guide. there's been an influx of newbies and returnees since Nier rerun. now if only they'd stick around and i can finally have a student of mines graduate.

So there is one thing you need to know
There is two Alpha one is first version currently running on global server and other is latest version currently on chinese server.

That is a lot of things to not do, never do and avoid. Was looking for something more digestible than a list of things from start to finish to not do with no explanation as to why. Now I'm feeling a bit more hesitant towards playing since it seems like any number of small missteps results in breaking these rules.
I’ll look into it, I really appreciate the comment

Subtitles: you’ll unlock noob mission

@@AuronXigbar he meant the event resource stages. the first stage drops more purple currency than the 2nd stage which has a chance to drop random 6* memo. I believe there was a patch recentl, after 1-6 i have no option to do the student/guide/mentor stuff. It seems to be locked now.
You can find it in the lobby section of the game
It unlocks further in the story now.
