@@TheTroutFlyFisherman aye the season is done over here and it's not got any decent trout rivers and zero trout fisheries anywhere near me, so I get to test my flies when I get back to Sconnie Botland!!!
Great video as always I'll need to give this place a try the blobs are deadly! I've caught countless at rosslynlee with a bright yellow and wee bit orange size 10 they can't resist it😂😂
Thanks mate. Yeah for sure I will do a vid at some point on that tying - super simple but kills it for me at Swanswater. I should really try it at more venues, it’s mainly due to no booby rule at Swanswater and FABs being less effective than these 👍🏻🎣
The slowest figure of eight you can do is ideal, seems to always produce more fish. If you are drifting on a boat it’s different, as you need to keep in touch with your line 👍🏻
Hi, I only fly fish a couple of times a year, (usually coarse/carp fish) and like using nymphs and dry flies. Just wondered what the general consensus is on why they take blobs, as they don't look like naturals or the pellets they are raised on. Is it just curiosity perhaps?
Freshly stocked fish will eat anything, as they are curious. But also any rainbow is aggressive, and will take it at times. I have had freshly stocked fish, over wintered fish, and wild browns on blobs. They just work, for many reasons. Some also say they can be taken as a bunch of daphnia, but I’m less convinced about that.
@@TheTroutFlyFisherman Thanks for the reply, recently found your channel and like it's to the point but, informative style. Keep up the good work! Makes me want to get out there and fly fish some more!
@@ihcfn - glad to hear you enjoy it! Yeah it’s to the point, and really more giving detail to try and help beginners, rather than trophy shots and the like. You should definitely get out more!! 👍🏻🎣
@@TheTroutFlyFisherman As someone who doesn't fly fish often I've already learnt a fair bit so it's working. Will definitely try and get out a bit more this winter as the coarse fishing can go a bit crap and hopefully a few trout will be a bit more willing to feed.
Red bead on hook - tie in the Fritz just short of half way and tie off. Slide the red bead down with some superglue on the hook to set. Then tie in fritz ahead of the hook up to the eye. 👍🏻
Oh small world, that’s me in the boat!
Haha, love it! From memory you had a decent day too 👍🏻🎣
Another great video, well done
Cheers Darren, appreciate it 👍🏻🎣
Great wee video. Must get myself over the bridge to Swanswater. Also another couple of new flies to tie up.
Len
It’s definitely worth a visit mate, really well run fishery 👍🏻🎣
Been to Swanswater recently.
Great place to fish.
Thanks Chris, great wee vlog, venue looks great 🎣✊
Cheers Sam. It’s a cracking venue 👍🏻🎣
Excellent start to the weekend.
Just a short one due to the rain, but still had a great day 👍🏻🎣
@@TheTroutFlyFisherman Thanks, make a trip up to Harelaw and get out on a boat. That place is brilliant. I come over to there from Belfast to fish it!
@@bigaljack56 - it’s definitely on the list of places to go - I’ve heard great things about it but never been 👍🏻🎣
Great vid. That gold trout is stunning! Havent fished swanswater in a few years but always enjoyed it myself. Even met Shug when i was there
Thanks mate. Yeah the fish are great quality for sure, I always love a trip up there 👍🏻🎣
Nice video yet again mate. Be good to see a tying video of the cdc shrimp too.
Thanks Allan - I will add to the list for the tying videos for sure 👍🏻
Need to give it a go when I get back over!!!
Definitely worth a go mate 👍🏻🎣

Cheers Steven! Definitely worth a visit! Yeah blobs / FABs will always catch fish - I am just trying out some new ones to see how they go 👍🏻🎣
Great video. Do You always fish kill tickets?
Hi friend, do you have the tyings for the white blob..
If you look in the comments, Trevor luft asked for this and I have provided the details, save me typing it again 😊👍🏻🎣
Where do you get your fly pattern? I'd Ike to try them.
Great video as always , can you do a video on the tying of the shrimp .

When retrieving washing line with cruncher/daiwl back and fab/blob how fast do you retrieve. Can you mix it up or best fish static.

Class as usual. Is the bung static ?
Cheers mate. Yeah static mate 👍🏻🎣
