Imagine being a german soldier and seeing literally a mountain of 1.8 million corpses in the city your officer just ordered you to go into
Most of those would probably be German troops surrendering but the game says they all died. I like to think there is a prison in Warsaw with 1 million German troops or something but the field where the fight happen would be blood stained

@@RuiRuichi I think that same goes for Axis, I played with Germany as Greece and formed Byzantium and alied them in order to attack Soviets. They got D-dayed by US and crumbled in months shortly before we managed to capitulate Soviets...
Imagine being in a city perpetually under siege and deciding the best course of action is to go on strike for the third time in one year
I mean, I guess they weren't very well paid. I don't think it's the guys crafting ammunition who went on strike, it's workers further removed from the actuality of war - but still important to running the city.
Also, it may have been protest strikes to get the leaders to quit the Allies nonsense, and ally with the SU already. The propaganda was constantly drifting left (to allow for comissars).

if you're struggling to take the capital that might be because of a penalty you get for not having good divisions. You need combat width in multiples of 10 so you can attack with more divisions with those divisions still being strong.
Found this vid by some miracle. Very informative and concise. You would get 400% better youtube range from fanatical Poles if you included 'poland' and '1939' in the name or tags as well.

Funfact: Hel is a peninsula in Poland in which there were still fights weeks after the fall of warsaw.
Kind of like jappanese soldiers stuck on malaysian islands still defending them long after ww2 without knowing it ended.

I did this achievement in my first try.
Started the civil war, joined the German faction and destroyed the Soviets with them after they wanted East Poland. Then I stayed in their faction but didn't join the war against the Allies and just focused on building up my army.
I built up a very defensive army with 120 20-width divisions, built level 5 forts around Warsaw on rivers, important cities and woods and then left the faction when I was ready. The Germans instantly started to justify on me and attacked me. They lost like 2 million men in 1 month because they threw all of their troops against my well defended position and never had a chance to break it.
Surprisingly easy achievement for me.

How do you win civil war? I only get 15 divisions against 50. It's not enough time to get civil support
@@MeinungMann You have to delete your whole army before you start the civil war. This way the German troops will win the civil war for you in a few days and you will get all your territory back. (Even the provinces Germany wanted before the war, haha)
After this you can build up your whole army again.

Hi, I just tried (20 times now) to do it. I'm playing 1.9.1 version with all DLCs except resistance. 20 times I tried, the 20 times, the AI in my game looks slightly smarter than in your game, but more importantly, I basically never have only 1 german unit next to me, on average it's 3. Therefore it seems much harder than in your video. Why so? Did a patch changed that somehow?

Yeah, they definitely patched it. When I tried it (a few times earlier today and right now, in 1.10.8 [I haven't moved on to 1.11 because of some mods]), the Germans NEVER took that one tile between Warsaw and Łódź, no matter for how long I kept it undefended. It's like the AI finally learned how to recognize potential encirclements and decided to keep away from them.
They also surround me with like two to three divisions in each tile, a third of them light tanks.
Nevermind, in my latest attempt right now, they just marched into the Box of Pain™ after declaring war on the Netherlands.

The Germans just wanted to help the pols out with their new hot pocket recipe.
The even better one is to take Sicily, then push one tile onto the Italian peninsula, watch as the Axis AI repeatedly shove 30 divisions on the one tile wide peninsula, then repeatedly naval invade behind them and kill 30 divisions each time.

I just imagine the ss forcing soldiers in, and then they can hear the arty strikes of their flanks breaking until the poles rush them out of the forest and snipers pick them off from the city outskirts.

I followed Feedback's advice but had a very different run - I think much closer to the dev's who made the achievement. I did encirclements until France capitulated in late 1941. At this point the Germans started flinging divisions at my three fortified tiles while not re-occupying the "pocket" tile. After a few months, they gave up on two of the three tiles and just kept bashing Warsaw over and over again - for two years. I microed retreating divisions back into Warsaw whenever they got back to full org and kept the battle outcome hovering between 20-40. By the time I got the achievement, I had stripped Lodz and the other tile of half of their divisions. All of my forces were at 30-60% strength, and the Germans took Warsaw the next month. I got to 1.8 million but could not have gotten to 1.9. I don't know how much of this is RNG vs. changed AI. But thanks Feedback! Couldn't have done it without you.
I tried doing this achievement with a larger area several times, held out untill march 1942, however by that point I had run out of the manpower reserves I had created at the start of the game through less usefull units and ended up with only 700.000 kills. So yeah the shown way does seem to be the only way of actually beating the 30 minutes of hel challenge. Though I would recommend staying with grand battle-plan, because the new patch has downgraded the first 3 superior firepower techs.

My answer to Trivia: I'm Polish and I know there were lot's of uprisings and partissant movements. My Great-grandfather was a partisant in the Gorce mountains.
The biggest uprising was staged on the First of August 1944, in the capital city of Poland; Warsaw.

Say you have 30 Factories producing Inf1.
Reduce it to 29. Start a separate, single Factory on Inf3.
As the efficiency builds, move over a factory. so 29/1, 28/2, 27/3 ect, this way you keep efficiency on a lot of your Inf1 factories as you build up inf3 efficiency

I failed this every time I tried it on Historical (Germany and Russia didn't go to war). First attempt at non historical and it went fine. Thanks to Feedback for doing the hard work and providing clear instructions.

Tried to do this achievement in „la resistance“.
Unfortunately it does not work anymore (at least for me). With the spy-system, and germany having 100% intelligence over my army, you do not get any planning bonus anymore (the max i got was 30% for about 2-3 weeks, when they probably did an operation and the intelligence dropped).
Tried to get an intelligence agency so that i can recruit a spy myself, but it does not work.
Any solution to this problem?

@@evanoconnell2597 If your game crashes or you terminate the process it cant save so you can reload the last autosave. This way you can roll back to the beginning of the month.
The city of warsaw in 1944, is the answer they captured two german panthers and held the city. My grandfather fought in the resistance.

The first was the uprising in Warsaw gheto in spring of 1943 and it was caused by the deportations and a disposal of the gheto The second happend in august of 1944 and it raged in the whole city. It started to prevent the soviets from “liberating” the city and therefore establishing a communist regime in Poland. During the uprising Warsaw was heavily bombed by Luftwaffe and the city was nearly completely destroyed, since Himmler ordered to destroy the city completely. The uprising was defeated after two months, mostly because soviets refused to send any help except from support equipment and ammunition.
I just did this achievement using your set up. Advice I would give is just keep being alive, you will get your chance and keep putting on the attack pressure for early game. The more stacks you kill the more Germany has to drag out wars everywhere else. You are hoping your annoying hold out stops Germany for keeping his eye fixed on you long enough to an all out attack. But once Germany is bogged down in fighting Russia it get really easy. That is all the advice I will add to this that was not stated in the video from my experience, it took me 12 trys. ALSO I got around 4.3 million kills by the time Germany was defeated, you will not run out of bodies to kill, even if you kill 1 or 2 stacks in the pocket keep doing it, so Germany can never set up.
