Yes an error--- 400/100 ohms GOOD VIDEOS--- YOU DO A EXCELLENT JOB. It intuitively seems to me that the resonant frequency should be a highly desirable state for any circuit. YES/ NO?
For everyone's reference the first example should have an impedance of 664.4 due to the resistor alue being 400 and not 100 ohms, hope this helps! the coressponding current value should be 0.181 A

Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a short Introduction into Impendence in Applied/Engineering Physics. Impendence is really tied to AC Circuits. Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thanks to the viewers for finding and correcting the error(s) in this video.
2πf is also known as angular speed in rad/s, the symbol is ω. Therefore you can write XL=ωL or XC=1/ωC. Dont worry about 400 or 100 ohms, simply put 100 ohms on the schematic and reply will be true.
Absolutely fantastic video. Thank you very much! Would it be possible to provide a real life example in the form of guitar amplifiers? Amp heads 'need'to match with the impedance of the cabinet (speakers). Could you please create a video explaining the reason why they need to match and what could happen if they do not match? Thank you very much Julio. You have been a great inspiration to me. A loyal fan from Belfast, Ireland
Psalm 22:14-17 Authorized (King James) Version "14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. 16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. 17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me." Isaiah 53:5 Authorized (King James) Version "5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." This is prophecy from the Old Testament. This is talking about The Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins on the cross, and His blood pays for our sins, and with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection we can be saved. Repent and believe the Gospel. Call upon The Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23-26 Authorized (King James) Version "23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 Authorized (King James) Version "9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Authorized (King James) Version "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" Romans 10:8-13 Authorized (King James) Version 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Great job comparing and contrasting resistance, capacitive reactance, inductive reactance and impedence. I wish though he explained why the resonance frequency is important. At resonance, XL equals XC, meaning they cancel each other out. This leaves the impedance of the circuit to be purely resistive. As a result, the current that flows through the series RLC circuit is at its peak when it’s operating at its resonant frequency.
In the diagram you show -400 ohhs resistor but you use a 100 ohms resistor to do the calculations when had to be 400 ohms to get the correct impedance ....the procedure is correct but the calculations are wrong....... any how nice video tnks de Kp4 BP...P.R
Thank you for this video. My basic electrical book didn't explain things in a way for me to understand the formulas. The definitions helped me out too. Thanks. 👍
It helps to think of impedance as a local quantity that relates to 2 sinusoidal quantities in the complex plane represented as phasors. Those 2 sinusoidal quantities being voltage drop across and current thru a capacitor or inductor or resistor. Because impedance is an ohm's law based quantity it's expression for inductor has j in it (voltage leads current) and has -j in expression for capacitor (voltage lags current).

thanks so much bro, i was freaking out like mad haha
Thanks bro i was about to destroy my calculator
These examples are all in series. Does it matter if some components are in parallel?
Yooo
Hi, in your first example the resistor in the schematic is 400 ohms but you used 100 ohms in the calculations.Everything else is perfect.
I noticed that. Simple mistake...yet confusing for my simple brain!

is this formula valid when we have impedance in phasors or only if we don't have complex operator ?
I don't watch my prof teaching videos, instead I watch yours for a better understanding
5:36 When you can no longer read your own writing, then it's time to write more beautifully. 100 is wrong, it should be 400.^^

A hard to understand and complicated explanation of something that is not really terribly difficult.
The mistake of using 100 ohms i guess was changed from the original stated 400 ohm in the problem
I've seen the formula Z = R + jX before, is that similar?
Error in second example. For the calculations of XL.
Is there any subject that you don’t know

How do I calculate Impedance if the power taken by an inductive load when connected to a 120V, 50Hz supply is 400W & current of 8A

in, the first example, you take R=400 Ohms, but in the calculation you substituted 100 Ohms. Plz correct it
Excellent video! Made this really easy. Thanks!

resistance is 400 ohms and not 100 ohms on the circuit
I need to know how to get total impedence from just the R Xl and CL numbers froman RLC parallel?
I don't understand why in some videos reactance of Xc is -1/wC and in some other just 1/wC. I even saw -j/wC...
You’re the best professor I’ve had! My physics and chemistry classes simply waste my time!
my answer is 180.61mA, i did not use (0-Xc)^2 but instead i used (Xc)^2 directly in finding the impedance. Can someone correct me though?
What about the j values? I was also taught to add the impedance when in series. I’ve never seen that formula.
Great explanation, can you please do another video of power plant generator related to capacitance reactance and inductive reaction
U could have used the formula for a circuit with resistance and capacitance only leaving out the inductance.
Thanks sir you really made it clear for me...am comfortable now
the answer on the first example should be 0.1806A or 180.6mA
It's really helpful content
Never thought my Electrical Engineering course will be saved by an Organic Chemistry tutor.

Awesome video... Thanks!
thx bro . quick and actualy useful explanation.
You lost me after "Impedance is like resistance"... :/
thank you very much
thank you for being straight to the point. This helps alot as i found it confusing to understand what my teacher was explaining in class lol
Amazing explanation and examples! Thank you so much.
Sir thanks to you
I have understood Impedance
Is there anything you don't understand, or are you just a computer ?
bro on the first example u used 100 ohms not 400 ? lmao
Thank you for this video. My basic electrical book didn't explain things in a way for me to understand the formulas. The definitions helped me out too. Thanks. 👍
Answer should be 664.4
My instructor made my head hurt. So I came to this video. And I'm very grateful that I did.
And what about capacitor and inductor in DC circuit?!! please help
in dc stuff isn't that complicated it's pretty much just ohms of the circuit added together to calculate the current U / R = I . it's really easy
what about when you are not given the frequency?
VERY NICE EXPLANATION THANK YOU
R=5,Xl=36,Xc=24 ho to Z kasa nikala
There was an example where you accidentally put 100 Ohms instead of 400 Ohms
You're literally the only thing between me and failure
