Yes an error--- 400/100 ohms GOOD VIDEOS--- YOU DO A EXCELLENT JOB. It intuitively seems to me that the resonant frequency should be a highly desirable state for any circuit. YES/ NO?
Great job comparing and contrasting resistance, capacitive reactance, inductive reactance and impedence. I wish though he explained why the resonance frequency is important. At resonance, XL equals XC, meaning they cancel each other out. This leaves the impedance of the circuit to be purely resistive. As a result, the current that flows through the series RLC circuit is at its peak when it’s operating at its resonant frequency.
Thank you for this video. My basic electrical book didn't explain things in a way for me to understand the formulas. The definitions helped me out too. Thanks. 👍
Absolutely fantastic video. Thank you very much! Would it be possible to provide a real life example in the form of guitar amplifiers? Amp heads 'need'to match with the impedance of the cabinet (speakers). Could you please create a video explaining the reason why they need to match and what could happen if they do not match? Thank you very much Julio. You have been a great inspiration to me. A loyal fan from Belfast, Ireland
2πf is also known as angular speed in rad/s, the symbol is ω. Therefore you can write XL=ωL or XC=1/ωC. Dont worry about 400 or 100 ohms, simply put 100 ohms on the schematic and reply will be true.
It helps to think of impedance as a local quantity that relates to 2 sinusoidal quantities in the complex plane represented as phasors. Those 2 sinusoidal quantities being voltage drop across and current thru a capacitor or inductor or resistor. Because impedance is an ohm's law based quantity it's expression for inductor has j in it (voltage leads current) and has -j in expression for capacitor (voltage lags current).
An inductor with a value of 30 ohms, a resistor with a value of 40 ohms, and a 25 ohm capacitor are connected to 220 V, 60 Hz power supply. Solve for the Impedance and the Current.

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

thank you buddy

thankyou
thanks so much bro, i was freaking out like mad haha
Thanks bro i was about to destroy my calculator
Honestly, for as shitty as the internet can be, Im glad that it can be used in ways like this. Thank you for what you do Organic Chem Tutor.
Hi, in your first example the resistor in the schematic is 400 ohms but you used 100 ohms in the calculations.Everything else is perfect.
I noticed that. Simple mistake...yet confusing for my simple brain!
Thanks mate thought that was an error!
Yeah. And no explanation from this so-called"Tutor" as to why that is/was? Whoopsie! WAI
Yes exactly

thank you for being straight to the point. This helps alot as i found it confusing to understand what my teacher was explaining in class lol
My instructor made my head hurt. So I came to this video. And I'm very grateful that I did.

Sir thanks to you
I have understood Impedance
Your videos safe life sir ,thanks a lot 🥰🙏🤲
These examples are all in series. Does it matter if some components are in parallel?
VERY NICE EXPLANATION THANK YOU
Amazing explanation and examples! Thank you so much.
Thanks sir you really made it clear for me...am comfortable now

It's really helpful content
Thanks Professor✊u re the best
Its very helpful 🙏 thank you so much....
Great explanation, can you please do another video of power plant generator related to capacitance reactance and inductive reaction
I don't watch my prof teaching videos, instead I watch yours for a better understanding
why did you use 100 ohms instead of 400 ohms in the first example ? :)
i did notice that also.

is this formula valid when we have impedance in phasors or only if we don't have complex operator ?
2:45 where is this frequency coming from that will determine these things?
So if you plugged in the value of the resonant frequency into the formula for XC and XL would they both cancel out to zero?
2πf is also known as angular speed in rad/s, the symbol is ω. Therefore you can write XL=ωL or XC=1/ωC.
Dont worry about 400 or 100 ohms, simply put 100 ohms on the schematic and reply will be true.
Thank you sir good explanation
What about the j values? I was also taught to add the impedance when in series. I’ve never seen that formula.
Thanks a lot sir 🎉❤
How to calculate the parallel circuit with coil and capacitor and resistor?
A hard to understand and complicated explanation of something that is not really terribly difficult.
I'd like to ask if the current we find at 9:10 is the Irms or the Ipeak.
Irms
most likely the irms considering the Voltage we're using is the standard American Vrms, which is 120 Volts
In impedance is angle needed or not??
Hi, I like your lecture
Good video please explain about fR
Awesome video... Thanks!
Does it matter which comes first in the formula xl and xc? or does
@organic why using 100 instead of 400 in first example
I need to know how to get total impedence from just the R Xl and CL numbers froman RLC parallel?
Very helpful! Thank you!
I've seen the formula Z = R + jX before, is that similar?
Is there an example on how to calculate the impedance in an RLC parallel cicruit?
thank you very much
Amazing Viddeo Thank you!

Why is there a -6? How to get it
what about when you are not given the frequency?

Who are you, what are you, are you sent by god?! I'm .... bruh just thank you so very very very much
I don't understand why in some videos reactance of Xc is -1/wC and in some other just 1/wC. I even saw -j/wC...
Thank you❤

Why (XL-Xc)?
And what about capacitor and inductor in DC circuit?!! please help
in dc stuff isn't that complicated it's pretty much just ohms of the circuit added together to calculate the current U / R = I . it's really easy
How to calculate impedance in calculator
100 instead of 400 ohm , what will be the answer?
what does Vrms mean?
The average magnitude of the voltage. V_p/(root 2)
@@LukeLoveland thanks!
the answer on the first example should be 0.1806A or 180.6mA
Please finish Calc 3!!
yes only understand,but its correct
my answer is 180.61mA, i did not use (0-Xc)^2 but instead i used (Xc)^2 directly in finding the impedance. Can someone correct me though?
U could have used the formula for a circuit with resistance and capacitance only leaving out the inductance.
This is the 2nd video in a row with miscalculations. That is ridiculous!
The mistake of using 100 ohms i guess was changed from the original stated 400 ohm in the problem

An inductor with a value of 30 ohms, a resistor with a value of 40 ohms, and a 25 ohm capacitor are connected to 220 V, 60 Hz power supply. Solve for the Impedance and the Current.
