Great dress!!! You look fantastic in it! Love the fabric. It's so feminine without being too fussy ---- You could wear it to a summer party, an evening out or with a little shrug top, to church! To buy a dress half as nice it would easily cost at least $200.
3 years late, but you've inspired me to buy this pattern ,hopefully i can get it before 2023 is over, looks simple enough for me to tackle, regards frm South Africa, happy sewing 😊
I can't believe that you sewing since a few years. I see since a few years too. But your sewing is way better than mine 😂. Your work is so accurate. I love it to watch you sewing 😍
I am so glad you did this video! I just bought this pattern along with a rayon polyester puckered fabric in white & pastel pink! I am soooo excited to start! I'm cutting out my pattern pieces first and then as soon as the construction on my office/sewing room is finished, I will be cutting the fabric and sewing! I planned on doing View B length with View C sleeves w/ the Belt and I may or may not do a thigh high slit.
Britney your dress is so beautiful and you look so beautiful in it I really love it I have the pattern too..... I’m going to make it and I love the material thank you so much for posting your beautiful video and your dress we love you as always and you look beautiful as always.....🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Yippee! I just bought this pattern yesterday at Joann's sale! And I have some black flowery fabric that I was thinking would be perfect. It seems it would cause it is a rayon also. This will be a good break from making kitchen oven mitts and curtains. And I will be sewing with a friend! Thank you for this video!
This is my first time watching your tutorial, well done!! Your instructions were clear and concise, the visual sewing examples were clear and well positioned as to be easily understood!👍👍 I would definitely recommend you to a new sewer!! Thanks for the good work!🤗🤗🤗👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆
You look gorgeous in that dress. Everything about it is perfect-the fabric, the print, the style, and especially your smile! You always send out joy. Thanks for everything you do for the sewing world.
It's quite early in the morning here in the UK, rather grey and raining and you are the perfect antidote. I love your work, thought the dress beautiful and always learn from you. Thank you x
Thank you for the clarification in this video☺️! I'm making this dress but Step #2 in the pattern instructions was misleading. It was shown in the illustration to sew the top portion of the sleeve. When I went to attach the sleeve it was wonky but glad to have found your video. Time to get the seam ripper😩🪡.
So relaxing, but I'll be stuck a quilter and mask maker forever. This is too much talent for me, lol. :D Wonderful video and you look so pretty in your new dress.
That fabric is great! Your tutorials are always so easy to follow. You anfd Mimi G always pull your pins out of a cup/bowl....how are you jot getting poked every time you reach for one? I get poked reaching for one in a magnetic pin holder🙃 love the finished dress!
The dress is super cute! I always wonder if it would be possible to give a rough estimate of how much time it takes you to make those projects and what you think are the more challenging bits for a beginner. Then I could multiply by my level (of incompetence) just to have a rough idea of what to expect.
@@brittanyjjonestv Yééé! Thank you so much in advance! In the future.. Brittany:This dress can be done in 2 hours. Me: OK so that means I'm going to need 2 hours..everyday for a week. Minimum. Got it!
Thank you! You're an amazing teacher. I appreciate you taking the time to share your skill. As a beginner, I'm pretty convinced I could make this... that says more about the video than me. 🤣 Is rayon a challenge fabric with which to work? I'm afraid it'll slip and slide all over the place. I've only used linen or cotton. Any tips for a newbie using rayon? Thanks again!
Just bought a lovely viscose fabric and looking for a pattern - think I just found it! Do you think the dress would work with a tier around the bottom to make it maxi length?
Such a pretty & easy dress, but so dynamic because it lets bold prints speak for themselves. Curious, what dress are you wearing in the intro? Did you make it as well?
I have a pattern by Simplicity S9454, I’m sewing view B (children’s) as a beginner. First it’s telling me to stay stitch the neck line, then later saying to gather the neck line. I can’t figure out how to do it with the stay stitch already there. Do I need the stay stitch? You are so wonderful at explaining and teaching that I just had to ask.
Brittney, what are your thoughts on this fabric after wearing and laundering? I purchased because I loved the print, washed, dryed before sewing made a sundress, I thought it was too sheer so I fully lined the sundress (double the fabric to purchased), by the time I finished sewing it was all stretched out, so laundered again and now it’s too small, short to wear in public. The last time I will purchase crinkle rayon. It is a very cute shorty nightgown now. Agh!!!
Thank you so much! I'm a beginner so this is very helpful. I was wondering if you have to press in a certain direction when you are pressing your seams? Thanks again (:
Hey! I'm so glad it was helpful! When I have my seams finished together, I tend to press them towards the back. You can also finish the seams separately and press it open, so it's flat.
Hi! This machine comes with it. It's call an Intergrated Dual Feed (Husqvarna Viking Epic 2). The walking foot is attached onto the back like you see in the video and I can engage it or disengage it depending on the project I'm working on.
Brittany, I have recently sewn with a crinkle rayon (from Joann's) and I found it to be a bit shifty and slippery, and also, with the "crinkles" a bit stretchy. Did you have any problem with that? - it didn't appear that you did so maybe it's just me. LOL! Cute dress on you, and great instructions!
Thank you so much! I didn't have any issues with it. I've sewn with it a couple times and I know what you mean with it being shifty. I didn't do anything special to stabilize it, in this video though, I had my walking foot engaged, maybe you can try that to help when sewing.
Hi Brittany I just found your channel and I am so glad I did. I am a fuller woman and struggle with dresses to look good on me. To be specific .........my tummy 😅 may i ask what kind of underwear you have. I know this is a very unusual question but I am just desperate to wear dresses i sew. Hope i did not offend you I apologize if i did 😔
Is there a video for even more rudimentary skills like how to read the pattern? How to cut the pattern out? How to know which way to cut the fabric, etc? I have no understanding of garment sewing at all
Hi! You know I didn't even realize it, but I had my dual feed engaged which acts like a walking foot attachment for other machines. So yes to answer your question.
And I like to add that your cutted parts fits exactly together. If I cut my pieces out they don't match. There are one centimeter or a few millimeters to much or less 😥.
I LOVE your fabric! Just beautiful! Crinkled Rayon is my favorite fabric for dresses!!! You look beautiful in the Dress! 👍Great sewing lesson!

Thank you for telling where you found it in Joann’s! I tend to not know where to look in there, for things that aren’t quilting cottons or polyester.
Oh you're welcome! Thank you fo watching!
Your dress really suits you, lovely material, and a good video.
