Been to Newark my buddy !! Gloris was the hit 🎉🎉 ❤only a dollar for a halla!! Got pulled of right when we rolled in RI.😮83?hurricane gloria!! Hurricane partyri😅
Masterful is exactly how to describe not only this lesson (clearly I refer to Mr. Vignola's playing and technique) but also his approach to teaching. I tuned in because I've always loved this song and I found that this lesson was presented in a manner that was easy to follow and fun to work on what I've learned. I'd like to see a 30 minute analysis & Jam on Speak No Evil.
Absolutely thankful for your positive teaching concept of sharing your wisdom with those who wish to learn from the master at a comfortable pace. Thank you so much for highlighting the important points to note and to understand the relationships within. God bless your soul Frank ... Thank you so much!!!
I developed a keen inner clock for these kinds of changes from playing bass. Talk about getting lost. Eventually I heard a lesson with a bassist who talked about playing some 2-5s now and again to box out two and four bar phrases. That totally did the trick. I didn't even need to play them for real or maybe just threw in a few passing notes to imply them but not really make them land. It really helps every other player at the session, too.
I haven't played this tune a whole lot, but I do remember getting lost a few times. You laid it out and paced it well, and got me thinking maybe I could give this composition another try. Thanks for that!
Liked “the more melodies you learn and internalize, the easier it is to improvise”!

Masterful! Such great teaching; a concise, structured, and paced delivery with plenty of repetition, context, and humility, with no waffle. Perfect. 👌

Always loved Wynton Kelly.
oh man, sounds so sweet
Great tutorial. Listen to Ronny Jordan's version for some beautiful solo ideas too.
Frank, the melody sounds great on a 7 string where you got the low D at the fifth fret … Relayed compliments of John Pizzarelli 😂
I hear it as Dm and Ab7
