These steps ensure that I'm always prepared and am able to bring only a carry-on without having to sacrifice style. I've also linked a printable PDF of my steps below so that you can use them for your own upcoming trip. Thanks so much for watching xx Audrey

Two things I would add are flip flops or travel slippers because I hate to walk barefoot in the hotel room, and a packable weekender bag or Longchamp Pliage bag that folds up to bring new purchases home! Luxury goods cost less in Europe, especially when you get back V.A.T.

Audrey, you could have a career reading audiobooks! Your voice is so pleasing. I will be referring back to this video when I go to London next year. Do you take a little folder with your travel paperwork? I must say I couldn’t leave my sneakers behind... while it’s not too chic my feet can’t handle the long days of walking! Thanks for sharing Audrey!

Hi, Audrey - I wanted to tell you that this is just my favorite video. I have watched it so many times - I love the music, the outfits, your system, your travel capsule. I have been watching it during COVID during this time of travel bans, planning for the day when we can once again explore the world! Also, I think your channel is by far superior to other fashion-focused channels. I especially love your videos on restyling clothing you already own and your focus on sustainability, natural fibers and utilizing responsible brands without breaking the bank. I look forward to your videos every week.

I'm in awe of the quantity of clothes that went in to the carryon. I have a similar bag, and no way can i fit 3/4 of those! I don't use packing cubes; they must be effective. Your tip on small toiletries rings very familiar. Thanks Audrey for the great strategy of planning the trip wardrobe!

You have a great sense of style. I lived in London for 17 years and the thing I always saw visitors struggling with was stairs! My recommendation would be to make sure you can lift your suitcase comfortably. There are some underground stations with stair-free exits but not all of them so if you want the most flexibility to move around and not have to take taxis, pack lightly.

    • @clairedriscoll8628
      @clairedriscoll8628 3 года назад +1

Putting your carry-on bag on your suitcase handle I have found is a no-no in London because you'll have to keep taking it off to go up and down the stairs on the underground. I would suggest (because I regularly travel with a little dog to London) a belt bag with your essentials credit cards cash change tissues wipes soap leaves hand sanitiser and a small suitcase that you can actually carry up and down stairs. I travelled once with a cross body bag which I presumed would be practical but every time I bent down to pick up my case or my little doggy it swung back and forth. I usually travel with a larger backpack with room so I can fit things in like packets of sandwiches drinks etc or any items that I may buy on my trip. Hands-free is the way to go. London is wonderful and so easy to get around. X

    Enjoy London...my home town...
    Your outfits look just right...
Years ago there was a saying " Never wear brown in town" only country folk ( Think Lord Grantham in Downton Abbey) would wear tweed but never in London...is what that means. Tweed back then was like "sports wear " is today ...
As to looking at a weather app ....don't bother...our weather changes hourly..
    Carry a folding umbrella...and a Pac a mac ...maybe.

I love your capsule! If I were to adapt it for myself, I'd probably exchange one of the black long sleeve tees for a B&W polka dot (or striped) one, and one of the black pants for tan or camel trousers. I'd leave the rust blazer behind and bring a B&W dress with a large print that would go with all the jackets, including the glen check blazer (I like mixing patterns.) All else I'd keep pretty much the same. Thank you for sharing. Have fun in England!

When I travel it's often for 2-8 weeks, I never take white anythings. Too hard to launder and keep looking fresh and white. Like you, I organize on a rolling rack before making decisions. Scarves are the real wardrobe changers for long travel. Totally agree on using travel-size liquid toiletries that get refilled before each trip, my liquids 3-1-1 pouch is just like yours and it fits a LOT. This is one of the better packing videos I've seen on youtube.

Great tips here! Yes, definitely working with a color palette is one of the best packing tips ever. It makes getting dressed while travelling so easy, to be spending a lot more time out and about not trying to figure out what to wear. Also, scarves...yes! I tend to pack either black or dark blue clothing because I'm away from our doggies, so no risk of dog hair! 😁

Watching this in March 2019. Super helpful! Bringing mix and match items, plus limited toiletries and 2 pairs of shoes is definitely ideal. I think I usually bring a pair of walking shoes (sneakers) and a pair of sandals and that is usually fine because I travel in the Summer usually. And don't forget you might want to buy 1-2 items wherever you go.

Have an absolutely wonderful trip! Thank you for sharing, I don't know if you'll have a chance to film while you're on your trip or if you'll be enjoying some time for yourself (as you should!) but I'd love to see how you end up styling all these pieces and for what activities :) I always travel in fall/winter because my husband is in construction management and is always busy during the good times of year to travel, so I only ever travel when a coat and layers are a must. I did 8 days in a carry on when I went to Paris in February a few years ago, and it was a pretty fun challenge!

Absolutely love the boots & so pleased to have found a recommendation before our two week trip to Paris & London! They were so comfortable and I had searched for weeks without finding anything appropriate. My daughter and I each managed to squeeze into carry-ons only but I’ll definitely change some things next trip. We were unfortunate to have nearly 80° weather in Paris (and a day at Disneyland) and mid 50’s and rainy our last couple of days in London, so having to pack for multiple climates was rough! Any advice for managing that in a carry on and still having cohesive styling? Love all your videos!

I have just done two weeks over 5 countries(ranging temperature-wise, between(7-24C) on only hand-baggage 25x20x40cm, and a self-added hidden pocket in the lining of my Winnipeg polar extreme jacket, for my tablet and a pair of light trousers.
Could you please do a video like that (with or without the jacket).
With Ryanair, carry-on is not free, so many people would appreciate a hand-luggage only video.

I can not watch it now, later on in the evening I will. Looks interesting and chances are that I will get some tips from you.

I so wanna travel but due to the covid situation. Don't think it's a good idea to travel now, even though the restrictions have lifted slightly. But your vids keep me entertained until it's safe for travel. Thank you x

Are you planning on writing a book? It would be great to have all these tips in one place. I take notes on your videos, and my notes are everywhere! Thank you! Love your videos!

Perfect outfits but that's a lot! But yes I couldn't travel with less than that. Beautiful clothes!

I just returned from Europe (10 days). I thought I packed light, but now realize that I could have done better. I did use packing cubes. Your video gave me some great ideas. As for the white shirt, do you recommend Brooks Bros or any others? I need to replace mine.

    Great video!
Curious where you get all your nice t-shirts? I love the simple, scoop neck kind, but have a hard time finding...
