    Okay, so now I know it's called a scabbard ... not a holster 🤣 how did you find this video?

    The "holster" is called a Scabbard or sometimes a Sheath depending on construction (scabbard is wooden or metal core covered with leather, sheath is just leather)

      Ah perfect, it's funny as now you've said it, it rings a bell. It's rather embarrassing but I like to keep the vocal parts raw so you get my initial reaction, opposed to read from a script 😂

      @@paintingpanzers I get it, if you’re used to doing “modern” military stuff then you get locked into that mindset lol

    What a shame Legio Heroica stopped, I know it's because the original owner and sculptor passed away but still :( I would've loved to get some of their crusades stuff.

    Nice idea with the gold and painting another colour beneath, I found vallejo metallics annoying because they were too thin, might get more use from them now :)

      Haha yeah, I'm in the same boat so that technique just helps with spreading those metallic paints 😁

    Nice figures, it will be a shame if Legio Heroica doesn't work again. Good job, thanks! 👍

    Good job on these knights, agreed that painting black uniforms is hard. Those are some good looking 15mms, better looking than some of my 28s lol. You have been putting up some great content. I also really like the waffen ss camo you did recently, exactly right between readability on the table and "accuracy".

      Thanks a lot for the lovely words and feedback. I'm so happy you found both of the videos mentioned useful. The Oakleaf in 28mm was fun and meant for something quick and easy 😊

    I've found that glueing two painted surfaces together is weak bond. Ot's better to glue metal to metal, prior to painting, for a better bond. Alternatively paint figure and shield seperately, and then scrape back to bare metal at point of contact, before glueing.

      That's a fantastic point you make, I did have a couple break away because of that very issue. I'll be sure to follow your advice in the future 😉

    Interesting and enjoyable but I doubt if I'll be using your other tutorials as I'm a medievalist not a tankie! Armour - yes. Internal combustion engines - no.

      maybe he will do more medieval miniatures if these get him hooked, he wouldn't even have to change the name of the channel because Panzer means armour in German lol

    • @paintingpanzers
      @paintingpanzers  Год назад +1

      Thanks Peter, I appreciate that 🙌 the channel name is something that shouldn't be taken literally which is something I probably should've thought about when creating the channel 🤣 I have lots of Medieval miniatures to cover and as I said in the video, I have two armies to paint for the Crusade. So I'll be painting both armour and internal combustion engines 😋

    WW II not really my favorite subject but... I would subscribe if you added more of this period (and Napoleonic s).

    • @paintingpanzers

      I've got plenty more planned. I've got two Crusader armies that are full of different units which I'll be painting over the year plus some British and French Napoleonic infantry (1/72). I like to move away from WW2 at times just for something different and perhaps a bit 'cooler' 😉
