It is only after the fact that I realize I forgot to show or even mention the rear nut that goes inside the AK's receiver for the brace bolt. Yes- there is a nut that the bolt threads into...NOT just the rear trunnion. If you do this mod, you need that bolt. Please don't think you can get by without it! My bad, everyone. My bad.
Hey man! Thanks for the vid. Considering doing this versus the SB adapter that you put between the receiver and the grip. How has it held up? Also does the screw you put through the rear “self tap” itself into the drilled hole or do you put a nut behind it within the receiver? Let me know and thanks again, great video and awesome AK
@goon_time lol happens to the best of us. My fault for not calling it out in the video proper. Yes! It is as stable and secure as the first day. There was a mysterious time there during the brace ban that it disappeared, but it just as mysteriously reappeared. Weird. In short, the brace is absolutely solid.
Given, that is an imported “pistol” adding a brace… do you think under the new rules, you can’t SBR it, and you have to either destroy it or turn it to ATF ?
Excellent question! This was recently clarified by the ATF. In the clarification, imported pistols will be treated the same as domestically manufactured pistols.
It was actually a pretty common modification to this pistol prior to the pistol brace rule. Too bad that still hasn’t been struck down. I miss this thing.
There is a Nationwide Injunction on the rule at this time. Meaning, by Supreme Court order, it cannot be enforced. Gun companies are selling braced pistols again. Take that information however you wish (I am not a legal expert).
@@PhantomLlamasDen thank you. I do not agree with the NFA or Hughes Amendment but I also am not about to risk prison. Can you give me the key words to look up or a link so I can read further. I don’t know if Google/RUclips are suppressing the information or what. Best I could find were the ruling from t last year and the more current Texas ruling for NRA members but nothing straight forward. All the videos I look up are so vague.

OMG, had me at the intro with you drilling INTO a gun!
Lol yeah. Not the best way to do it buuut AK. Lol
Very cool video
Great job 👍🏾
Thank you!!!

Derp, didn’t read your pinned comment - thank you, anyways, how did I last? Still stable and sturdy as it was day 1?

@@PhantomLlamasDen what adapter did you use ?
"The comment section is going to be soooo...."
You're not wrong. Watching you free hand that process was a bit oof.
Yup! Turned out okay, though. Thankfully. I have a bench vise now. Lol..

I hope so 😅
I’ve got the same m92 early model as you , so which variant did you order, the M92/M85 one?
That is correct- the m92/m85 model.
@@PhantomLlamasDen Thank you Sir, By the way, it looks nice.
Most welcome, and thank you! I enjoy it, and it shoots quite accurately for being a pistol!
Pic rail or non pic rail version?...which way do you think after this I should go?
I prefer this variant, personally. But at the end of the day, you have to go with what you prefer!
Oh man. Someone's actually gone and done it...
It was actually a pretty common modification to this pistol prior to the pistol brace rule. Too bad that still hasn’t been struck down. I miss this thing.
So if I got the ZPAP85 that’s predrilled then do I need to still drill a hole for the 1913 adapter pice ?
No sir! You would use that hole. Unless something has changed. My m92 was an older model (the reason I had drill the hole).
@@PhantomLlamasDen okay so all of them new ZPAP85 just need the 1913 adapter in no drilling hole ?
As long as the hole is pre-drilled, yes.
@@PhantomLlamasDen so basically all pre drilled mean is that it’s a hole ?
That is my understanding, however you may want to check with Zastava. They have excellent customer service.
Are braces still legal?

ATF has been slapped down 4 times by the Supreme Court
@saurelius5217 indeed they have. We just talked about this in our podcast haha. It’s been great to watch…especially in the current climate!
Perma Blue that shiny bolt carrier and make it more tactical
I won't lie that I've considered having it blued. But I also like the overall look it as it is. I'll keep mulling it over!
Bad timing
Truer words never spoken 🤣 already have a plan of action if this doesn’t get overturned.
Plus I have video evidence this was done prior to the rule! Haha
