Hey guys! Let me know if you want to see more mommy related videos! I hope you like this video and make sure to check the description box for some products I used when my son was small!
I do not have children of my own, but when flying you are pretty much guaranteed to have at least 1 child/baby on the plane. My recommendation if you are seated beside someone with a crying child (like bottle/sippy cup age)... offer to assist them. You may be denied but I know the lady I was beside was very appreciative when I offered to help her when she was preparing the formula for her little girl, they had a long flight (Europe to the States and then to Canada). So I was more than happy to help, they were both tired and sick of being on planes/traveling. It might just make their day too, knowing that there are still nice people in the world.
That is so sweet! My daughter has been pretty calm on the many flights we’ve taken (she’s 3 now), but someone’s help when you are anxious and overwhelmed means the world!!!
Yes! I did this too when I flew from Japan to US. I offer help to a grandpa (probably 65 years old) traveling alone with a 1-year-old girl. He takes the baby so the family can meet her since the parents can't travel because of their work. I feel bad for him so I help hold the baby sometimes and there are times that he use the bathroom and he will leave the baby on me. The baby was very good though and barely cry. I am glad I was able to help him.
Stephinachan13 this is the best comment I’ve read. I was flying home alone with my two year old who was tired, cranky, and throwing a fit. The man sitting next to us was so incredibly sweet and bought a movie on his phone and allowed my son to watch it. 💜
I was on a 2 hour flight from Houston to Denver, and it was a very quiet flight. There was a toddler on my plane, and he didn't cry until we touched down in Denver. Very fun moment when people applauded and laughed that the kid didn't cry until landing and said good things to the mom because she felt embarrassed but everyone near the kid was very forgiving and in a good mood. Love your videos btw!! Watching you makes me eager to soon become a flight attendant!!!
Kids will be kids. They maybe nervous to be on a plane . Just how you described your kid he sounds so nice. I think you did the right thing to keep safe by not showing his face . I love your videos!
Great tips! I know kids cry including my own and that doesn't stress me out because it's a normal thing that can happen. What is stressfl is other people that will make some stupid comments! xx
Yes! This affects me more than my child acting up. I’m used to it and can deal with her tantrums but it’s when other people tut and give dirty looks that I feel ashamed and bad and start to question my parenting skills. the thing is, every kid is different. Some are quieter than others and some are harder to control than others. Some people can be not very understanding
Good idea not showing your child on RUclips! I think it can be detrimental to them especially when they get older and maybe see these blogs and what people say. I respect you for respecting your privacy!
My number 1 tip for kids on planes is take care of their ears! Pressure changes are especially painful for their thinner sensitive eardrums. A lollipop, juice box, bottle, or gum for take off and landing helps a lot!
LOVED this video. I'd be really happy to see more content specific to life as a FA with children and how you manage e.g: childcare, routines, being away from your child etc, etc.
Thank you for these tips! I felt the weight lift off my shoulders when you said not to stress if my kid cries. I’m worried he will be a disturbance on the plane. I mean he’s a good boy but I’m just not sure how he will be in a plane filled with strangers..well, fingers crossed his first flight will be a great one! Thank you again!
Thanks for this video. I'll be flying with a 2 year old next week and I'm more nervous about the flight than the whole trip. My problem is, I tend to get overwhelmed if my little girl is throwing a fit. When people start to stare or make comments I cant help but get over worked myself and then I start crying because I'm embarrassed and feeling defeated.
Best advice I heard if you're getting overwhelmed stop take a breath remember you're doing everything you can and doing a great job kids will be kids and sometimes they cry for no reason too but once you're calm it helps calm your child as they can sense when you're stressed (if somewhere safe walk away just take a second to calm down) everyone has been here trust me there's times I feel like everyone's staring but no matter who you are, what you do someone will always judge you so you might as well ignore them I dunno if this will help when my son started throwing tantrums like this child has some vocal cords I tell you I started bringing him to a corner, wall getting down to him level lowering my hand making a shhh, hush sound lowering my voice slightly and he'd start getting quieter which somehow started calming him. Hopefully it might helps also worked for getting him to lower his voice but I did say inside voice so inside shops, home, bus etc when in the street park etc he can scream his heart out I do get looks when he starts screaming but better outside then inside. Hope this helps though
I would love a video on how you balance being a mom and being a flight attendant, and like tips to keep things as structured as possible for them while you're away. I want to become a flight attendant in a couple of years when both of my daughters (5 and 2) are in elementary school. It is my dream job, and I just want some tips on how to make it work! I love your vlogs, thank you for the awesome videos!
Hello, I guess you already know this but just in case, Some planes are better in terms of making you refresh and giving you a refined and smooth ride. I really love your speech and your lovely voice its a very good opportunity to take young kids to fly on the plane while travelling to other worldwide destinations.
I know this is 4 years old, but thank you so much for this. This calmed my anxiety a little bit. I’ll be flying with my 4 year old for the first time next month 👏🏽.
Hi Ale! Great tips for sure! When my son was little and we traveled I would try to book flights based on his nap schedule. He was a twice a day napper, so I always tried to let him have his first nap at home that way I could load the car and make sure we weren't forgetting anything. The way I would book the flight is I would try to book it so that when the 2nd nap time came we would be taking off. I nursed him through the take off and he'd be asleep by the time we reached cruising altitude. Another huge tip, CHANGE your baby/toddler's diaper before boarding. When they do their first announcement, head to the washroom and take care of business. This is also the last chance until you get off the plane to really wash your hands really well.
I agree with changing diapers before the flight! I used to do that with my son and never had to worry about having to use the changing table in the lavatories.
I fly with my daughter about 3 times a year and have done since she was 6 weeks old (3 now) although the older she gets the more I find her needs change. She’s also quite an energetic and demanding 3 year old so sometimes flights can be tough, especially if she’s tired but she’ll refuse to nap and scream and get angry. It can be hell so sometimes no matter how much preparation goes into these flights, kids will kick off 😂🤦🏻♀️ but I always check these videos just incase there are any tips I would have never thought of. Thank you!
I will be flying from US to Philippines with my 6 yrs and 2 yrs old by myself and 5 mos pregnant... I watch every single vlog for tips that would help me on our flight.
Thanks for replying, we arrived in Liberia Costa Rica Saturday,, our family with our 20 month old granddaughter flew first class and the stroller was waiting when we got off which was nice.
You are so right about the ground crew being rough with strollers! I was traveling alone with my 1 year old son and found my stroller which WOULD have been a lifesaver ruined and completely useless & no one cared about what happened. Somehow I managed but that is why I never fly anymore (15 years later)
Just a little tip on the hurting ears, if you do a really big yawn, your ears will feel better immediately, it sounds weird i know but I personally think it works better than sucking on a lollipop or any other method
I know this is an old video but I wanted to comment anyway 🙂 currently stuck on the sofa pregnant and dreaming of far away places after all this quarantine / corona stuff. Videos like this help me keep up morale and hope that I can still do all that even though we know have a cutie on the way :) your tips were good and well thought through. Also liked how you didn’t judge anyone :)
Some people bring their child's car seat onto the plane with them for their 2 year old can the flight attendant help asset the mom if she needs help with trying to place the car seat on the airplane seat where the child will be sitting at and while holding the 2 year old in one arm if the mom is by herself. I am a new mom and never traveled with a toddler before. I need help.
I flew with my daughter for the first time since she turned 2 in October. I upgraded our seats to first class and I used her carseat on the flight cause it was a late flight and figured she'd most likely sleep in it. Nope she screamed and kicked the guys seat in front of her. I felt so horrible but it was just mean everything I was doing wasn't helping. I'm sure I pissed some people off but with covid I didn't want a 3rd person sitting with us since my husband wasn't traveling with us. I felt like I was a bad mom cause I couldn't get her to stop. I fly again with her by myself in the next 3 weeks. I'm totally nervous about it. But hoping for the best. I don't think I'll be using the carseat on the plane again not sure if it made it worse or not. I'm also hoping she's 2.5 now so maybe she'll be a little better.
Thank you for the pep talk we are going to be flying from PHX to PHL then to BOS with our daughter for the first time and I’m stressing I really appreciate it ❤️
Best video on flight guidelines for toddlers hands 🙌 down !!!💜this have definitely calm my anxiety due to the fact my husband and I have a 2 year old and we will be taking our first flight for vacation this month. Also my question have been answered about if strollers were allowed. I have 2 strollers but I was thinking about just taking a small umbrella stroller to fold. Thank you again your video was very helpful
Thank you so much for this video! Im going to Spain to visit family with my almost 3 year old and im so nervous and anxious for that long flight with him! Its his first time flying so I'm praying that everything goes well!
good for you for not showing your kiddo.. good parent.. My mom raised 6 she made sure I knew how to not spoil my kids.. they were mentored not to scream in public .. oh yes.. and so were we as kids.. and it was done with zero abuse .. there are many ways to discipline.. if the child is in physical distress it is what it is.. kids cry.. esp babies when the moms and dads havent figured out what their cries mean yet..
Your son is such a cutie (even from the back)! Nobody ever should be mean about him. He's FOUR. I sure hope people have more to say than criticizing a 4 year old .
In two weeks I will be traveling with my 9 month old who weighs less then 15 pounds and Im also 21 weeks pregnant, i will be 23. My baby will sit kn my lap since I didnt buy her a seat. Any tips at all? Im so nervous
I'm flying with a 5 almost 6 year old. I need to bring a backless booster seat. Does he sit in it on the plane, what do I pack it in? I'm not checking any bags, just personal and carry on.
Nice video. Question! So are you Saying don’t check the car seat with other luggage? Just bring it ti the gate? What about if we have a layover? Would you still advise that?
When you gate check a stroller, when do they bring it up to the door ? is it before the passengers get off the flight? if we are one of the first to get off, do we have to wait a while to get the stroller?
SanVic When we flew to Hawaii (and between islands) and back home to SF, the stroller was always waiting when we got off the plane. We sat first class so we were some of the first people off the plane and it was surprisingly always ready and waiting for us .
Flying alone with my 2 year old soon...have to change 4 planes and one of them will be a 10 hour transatlantic. NOT looking forward to it but thank you for the tips. The most that Im afraid of is being kicked off the plane ive seen cases online :(
Flying solo with my 2.5 year old next week. Thankfully we just have one 1 hr and 45 min. flight and then a little 25 minute flight. I booked the flights super early in the morning so she'd be more likely to sleep. We've flown many times together but she's getting pretty independent and I'm 6.5 months pregnant! I always pack so many snacks, hehe.
Yes that’s called gate checking. You can keep your stroller with you up until you’re walking onto the plane. Just make sure to get a tag for it from the desk near your gate ahead of time for it
It’s definitely really gross to have someone change a diaper in the cabin, but that’s gotta be a parent’s worst nightmare as well. I just had this awful, turbulent flight, everyone was rushing to the bathroom (I’m assuming nervous stomachs), and my baby was 1 of them. I always time her feedings and she’s never pooped while flying before.. the bathrooms were all occupied and I was freaking out bc I’m not gonna let my baby sit in poop and get a painful rash!!! Thank goodness the gentlemen settled his busy bottom right before I started crying from not knowing what to do, and I was able to squeeze my chunky ass into the tiny toilet, w/ my toddler, and change her poopy diaper while smacking my head around, bc of the insane turbulence.
Hi Ale, it’s my fortune traveling with a stroller, I have a connecting flight in ATL before I get to my destination. I’m confused on what or where I will get the stroller.
So we can always bring car seat and stroller for small children? My child is 3 years and 1 month old and we’re going to fly long haul with singapore airlines.
Have a 9 hour flight to Italy , will be lap child . My only concern is how will she sleep comfortably? She likes to lay down completely and is about 20 pounds . She’s a light sleeper too so I’m nervous about that . Everything else I think I’m okay . Good thing my husband is coming along .
Kids can sleep anywhere and in any position. Lol. Remember that kids can sense how you feel. Even in a bad situation if you are calm, your child will be calmer.
I’m flying with a 2 & 5 yr old in less then a month. Extremely nervous being by myself with 2 hyper boys. I’m bringing rear facing car seat (2 yr old) & booster seat (5 yr old) on the plane. Any suggestions on how to get through this flight successfully? Hoping someone can help me get through checkout to the gate with my hands full. 😨
Great tips! Thank you! Traveling is very stressful with kids. I have 3 little ones and yes all of these tips are super helpful and I've done them all....except investing in car seat covers. Big mistake. Ugh. Lol
Hi Ale! I have been looking for this information everywhere, but can't find it! Are travel system strollers (with the car seat instead of the regular basket/chair) allowed in airports and taken at the gate to be sent? I'm going from Norway to Brazil and really need to take the car seat with me, but I would like to walk around with a stroller in the airport and the flight company says on the website that they send either car seat OR stroller for free... I am confused to whether car seat with a separate set of wheels is considered a stroller or not 😁
I will be doing a big long hall flight with my 2 and half year old son and 12 year old well she maybe 13 wen we go. We going from Birmingham uk to Amsterdam to our destination in the usa. Carseats are a nightmare especially find one thats uk europe approved and faa approved for my 2 and half year old ive started to think i just take his stroller. And maybe forget the carseat cos in england im having job finding one 😳 but this video was nice to watch.... good luck to all those nervous parents with children i definitely know how u feel.
Hello thank you so much for doing this! Question I have 2 toddlers and a 9 month old do I bring the stroller&carseat on board or just stroller for 9 month old?
Hi aly I am 7 years old and went on my first flight, it was a very long flight, just before take off mum put my seat belt on me quite loos but the flight attendant when she walked past she pulled it very tight so it had no slack in it at all (I couldn't wiggle at all) arfter take off mum let me take it off, the same flight attendant she saw me unbelted and she straped me in again just as tight so it was just digging in to me, she told me that I was not allowed to take it off and I had to leave it alone, and every time she came by she double checked it and she told my mum children have to stay straped in for the whole flight, and she had adjusted it and it was fine. So mum told me to stop moning and leave it alone. I really really hate that seat belt it was so uncomfortable and so tight I could not move at all please please give me a good comment.
I will be traveling with Delta on the 26th of February 2020 with my 2 and helf years old and wondering if car seat is a must? Praying it is not 😩🙏🏻 Ps. Minnesota to Ohio.
We are flying with our 4 kids to Canada in 6 or 7 weeks. We’re from South Africa. It will be their first time on an airplane and I am not sure how to prepare them for that. We have two boys, age 6 and 10, and two girls, age 4 and 3. Because we will be immigrating, we need to pack our lives into your 12 suitcases and 6 backpacks. I don’t want to overload the backpacks .....but I don’t know what to prepare for. Any advice?
I've been looking for something to use to help keep my child safe, jic there's a turbulence? I thought maybe we can just use his baby carrier, but I'm not sure if the flight attendants will allow that. Maybe you know an FAA approved harness or seatbelts for babies. Thank you!
Best way to keep baby safe in turbulence is to buy them their own seat and bring their car seat. You aren’t supposed to wear them in a baby carrier when the seatbelt light is on. I do think some airline have a seat belt thing that attaches to your seatbelt and wraps around baby but I don’t know how common it is.
Thanksfor the tips. I will travel with my 3 years old girl to Peru by myself , is a 12 hours flight , so I hope she will be fine... but sincerely I'm so scared!!!! is her first time traveling!!!! if anyone has more tips i will appreciate. thanks
We are traveling with an 18 months old from Canada to India. Do you recommend buying a seat for baby, it's not required as he is under 2 yrs. Also is car seat compulsory for babies under 2?
For the first time ever, My fiance and I are taking our first family trip to visit family in Ohio and we are taking our daughter. I love your videos and what kind of essentials should we bring or would we need especially during layovers and during the flight itself?
I was searching for a video on how to travel with a baby and i clicked on your video and im half way and realized that i know you from church when i use to live in California ..
My daughter will be 3 yrs in one month, our flight is in 2 weeks. Does she need a car seat on the plane? Or can she sit in her own seat? We’re traveling to my dads and she has a car seat for while we’re there. We paid for her own seat on the plane also. Flying Allegiant if that matters. Also do you happen to know the best cost friendly place to get a bag for a jogging stroller? Sorry for all the questions, lol, you seem so nice and Ive tried calling Allegiant but no luck, and it sounds like your son is close to my daughters age. :)
Hello i will be flying this week and my baby does not have a seat he will be on my lap any advice you can give me ? I am a first time mom traveling alone ?

Thank you for the pep talk we are going to be flying from PHX to PHL then to BOS with our daughter for the first time and I’m stressing I really appreciate it ❤️
Have a safe flight!
Thank u so much for the reply ❤️
Best video on flight guidelines for toddlers hands 🙌 down !!!💜this have definitely calm my anxiety due to the fact my husband and I have a 2 year old and we will be taking our first flight for vacation this month. Also my question have been answered about if strollers were allowed. I have 2 strollers but I was thinking about just taking a small umbrella stroller to fold. Thank you again your video was very helpful
The tip about leaving the stroller on the side does that also apply to the car seat
What about having a stroller with layovers? Will I be able to get my stroller at the gate if I have a layover?
Thank you so much for this video! Im going to Spain to visit family with my almost 3 year old and im so nervous and anxious for that long flight with him! Its his first time flying so I'm praying that everything goes well!
Good luck to you! Snacks and entertainment help tremendously!
How was the trip???? Im flying with a 3 yr old soon alson
@@tashfeenzaman2809 how was your trip?
Your such a good parent for not using your kid on RUclips mad respect
good for you for not showing your kiddo.. good parent..
Thank you! You'd be surprised the things people with nothing better to than to be mean to people on the internet can say!
Flying for the first time. Is it possible to store extra things in the car seat? Like a boppi?
These tips are so good! Especially the sanitizing wipe!!!
Thanks Ale, very helpful video. Would have never thought of any of these tips...thank you.
Thanks so much for this video ! I'm about to travel from New Zealand to Greece 36hours flight with my 18month old and I'm so stressed about it !
That is going to be brutal.
Oh man! That's a long flight! Safe travels!
How was the trip with your 18 months old I am curious!
In two weeks I will be traveling with my 9 month old who weighs less then 15 pounds and Im also 21 weeks pregnant, i will be 23. My baby will sit kn my lap since I didnt buy her a seat. Any tips at all? Im so nervous
You will be fine. Your baby will g to sleep with eh sound of an airplane. Just have her bottle ready and warm thats it.
Thanks for all the tips. Love and absolute love your last tip. Thanks a lot.
Hi ale
Were flying with our 2 year old for the first time . What do you recommend?
The flight is 3 hrs and 50 minutes long.
Thank you!
The most that Im afraid of is being kicked off the plane ive seen cases online :(
you will be fine. Safe travels and enjoy!
hello which stroller allowed in flight ? i have kinderkraft trig . can i take that in till flight door ?
please reply...
Hi what about collapsible wagons are they allowed for gate check in
Flying solo with my 2.5 year old next week.
Snacks are great! Def life savers! Have a safe trip!
Hi-
Does every airline let you check your stroller in at the entrance of the airplane? Thanks for all of your videos!
Jesse Torres I was wondering the same
Yes that’s called gate checking. You can keep your stroller with you up until you’re walking onto the plane. Just make sure to get a tag for it from the desk near your gate ahead of time for it
And it’s totally free
Hi can I bring a wagon instead of stroller?for my toddler
It’s definitely really gross to have someone change a diaper in the cabin, but that’s gotta be a parent’s worst nightmare as well. I just had this awful, turbulent flight, everyone was rushing to the bathroom (I’m assuming nervous stomachs), and my baby was 1 of them. I always time her feedings and she’s never pooped while flying before.. the bathrooms were all occupied and I was freaking out bc I’m not gonna let my baby sit in poop and get a painful rash!!! Thank goodness the gentlemen settled his busy bottom right before I started crying from not knowing what to do, and I was able to squeeze my chunky ass into the tiny toilet, w/ my toddler, and change her poopy diaper while smacking my head around, bc of the insane turbulence.
...thanks for the Video and all the info. My son is a picker when it comes to food. Is it OK to prepare him what he likes and take it on board?
Ugh. Lol
Oh no! Hope the situation was resolved!
Hey girly we miss you 😘 thanks for updating for us
@wonderfully ale by any chance are people allowed to but inflatable air mattresses in their luggage to travel with
Thank you. very helpful❤
this video is super helpful thank so much
Thank you so much for this!
Hi. Great video took many notes! I was just wondering the check gate for stroller or carseat. Is that for most airlines? I'm traveling AA. Thanks
Not a mom but I absolutely loved this video and all of your videos💕
Not a mommy yet, but these are very good tips :) I'll keep these in mind just for myself for now.
My kids are 2 & 5, is it compulsory they must have car seat aboard, though they got their own seat? Thanks.
Praying it is not 😩🙏🏻
Ps.
Any advice?
Sound advice!!
Brilliant ♥️
Thanksfor the tips. I will travel with my 3 years old girl to Peru by myself , is a 12 hours flight , so I hope she will be fine... but sincerely I'm so scared!!!! is her first time traveling!!!! if anyone has more tips i will appreciate. thanks
...also, we are family of 4 and flying a long haul, what is the suggested seat for a family with todlers? Thank you.
Thanks so much
What kind of snacks are allowed through security and on the plane?
I'm not a mom yet but I do agree with you 😊
Great video! I appreciate the suggestions.
Hi I'm very bad at taking off have you any ideas on how to cope?
We are traveling with an 18 months old from Canada to India. Do you recommend buying a seat for baby, it's not required as he is under 2 yrs. Also is car seat compulsory for babies under 2?
For the first time ever, My fiance and I are taking our first family trip to visit family in Ohio and we are taking our daughter. I love your videos and what kind of essentials should we bring or would we need especially during layovers and during the flight itself?
I was searching for a video on how to travel with a baby and i clicked on your video and im half way and realized that i know you from church when i use to live in California ..
Ale I totally agree with you
Can we take multi perpose cart in plane
Also he is 3 months
