Camera's a little better than Sonic Adventure 2 but it's not without its issues. Camera control was something this game never seemed to grasp. At this stage I think I've adapted to its...nuances but it's less than ideal.
This is probably my favorite stage in the game. The first two sections are exciting and the music adds to it. If the first part of Speed Highway lasted longer I'd probably give it to that but the nature of running around on the outside of the Egg Carrier as it changes altitude is hard to match.

This game was not meant for linearity, whenever Sonic is in enclosed spaces the camera always bugs out. Look how well the camera adjusts and how good Sonic controls when he is in more open sections, 1:32 for example. It shows in this stage especially on how this Sonic specifically, wasn't meant for linearity. One of the reasons I don't like the stage, is mainly because of the reason that they didn't use openness to their advantage.
I've seen a lot of deaths at the second half of Act 2, the top of the wing after the strong winds part. It's actually an escape sequence, but it's really easy to just not notice. The camera should swing around after you go up the ramp to show you the strong wind section breaking off, but the player here just kind of walked around the trigger or something. Even if you see it, it doesn't really say "the wing YOU'RE ON is falling, run!" so much as "the wing you WERE on is falling, good job!". In the escape itself, the wing falls away in blocks, but there are also square elevators for fighter jets moving up and down, so you can only really see that the blocks aren't coming back up once you've already fallen under the wing. The easy fix here would probably be to have Tikal just show up and tell you "The wing is breaking off! Keep on going!", but there are multiple small changes that could also help. The part where the camera shows you the wing falling could be more strictly enforced; a one-second cutscene where you don't have control. More obvious audiovisual cues could be used to clarify that the blocks falling off the wing aren't working as intended - Everything's already exploding constantly, but maybe some klaxons and exposed pipes/wiring where sections are breaking off would communicate danger. Better yet would be having the damaged parts collapse at diagonal angles rather than serenely sinking away as if everything is fine.

The soundtrack is so kickass, It almost makes up for how hard the stage is...
If they ever remake this game, they HAVE to do something about that camera.

I love how the size of this stage is much bigger than the Egg Carrier hub world, same can probably be said about Hot Shelter
