I truly like your style of explaining what and how gets done next. Because you renewed my belief that proas as a micro cruiser is a doable project for people like me dream to get sailing again, but hours away from their closest great body of sea water. Don't change your style of explaining of what your doing. I'll be watching ! Great Work!
Have been watching and rewatching these building videos, getting ready to build this summer. I have built several. Cardboard models, and put together a proa from an aluminum 16' canoe and an amazing made from pvc conduit and a large foam pool noodle, glassed together. It works very well, but needs more freeboard, fretboard, it takes on water! Good luck, keep the great info flowing ! DAN S. from Michigan & Texas USA
Nice Rael . For the guys that have not done it before , its a great help , I`m sure. I`m a crazy boat builder too ....no chance of rehabilitation for us guys haha.....
Great channel you have for what i believe is the most practical boat for everyone by far - for its simple rigging, low cost with big deck space and fast sailing. I'd like to see you try a sof (skin-on-frame) and scalable size version, designed with and built using take-apart sections for easy storage and transport, so that those without workshop spaces could construct and enjoy also.
Thanx Robin, Boats can be built anywhere, beaches, garages, living rooms........ etc. you dont need a workshop. Many people live in houses with gardens. I live in an apartment, so I rent workshops. I would be better living in a house and not paying for a workshop....... Skin on frame, frightens me.... Anyway, you got it brother, for sole sailors like me, for low income people like me, proas are the best, stay tuned I will prove it. All d best. Balkan Shipyards.
Best explanation of the stitch and glue process. wish I would have found your channel a few weeks ago. My next project will be similar to this. Keep doing your thing
Boat building is like a walk in the park. You know when and where it starts, but where it will take you, who you will meet and when and where it ends, you never know... At times the path leads you directly through hell, at times you sit back and look at her wondering how you made it this far... She amazes you, almost alive... dreaming of that first splash...... You go on, A mistake, an unseen detail, sends you back... sometimes you wonder why??? Problems are to be solved! Boat building? Building a boat?? is it worth it??? Hell yea, for she will become a creation, otherwise she will always just be a dream..... just build it........... All d best.
Rael Dobkins thanks for the inspiration! After watching how you did your Ama to iako connection I cut mine apart today and going in a different direction. I'll send you a pic in a few days when I am complete
Since you appealed for comments...blah blah blah Thanks .... love your perspective on boat building. Sorry about your finger... forgot to mention on other video.
It is easy to fiberglass the inside of the bow. Cut the tape to length, wet out the inside of the bow, wet out the tape on a piece of plastic, use the brush to push the tape into place.
Here in the "wild east" I cant find tape, so cutting cloth leaves loose ends that fray in a very annoying manner.... I have had trouble with them every time... so I gave up. Still, I admit I didn't think about wetting the cloth before pushing it in ether..... Thanx Paul, will give it a shot.
Happy u like our stuff, anyway I still do add fiberglass over the important joints... But yea, if the outside is getting glassed then inside the fillet can go bare. Welcome to freestyle boat building, Keep shunting man. BSY

I cut my own strips as well, yes the stringy stuff is annoying.
a lot of people like to use fiberglass tape over the stitching for re-inforcement , I'm with you wire ties and epoxy is less expense and good.
