    I lost two today. Very frustrating and I can appreciate all the work that goes into them.

      Angela Humphries we fish offshore a lot now and I rarely tie them for that. I just used the painted heads and gulps. We went through almost 400 last year. (Seriously!)

    Where are you fishing offshore from?

    • @scottnra
      @scottnra  4 года назад +1

      Jordan Evans It varies. We may go out of Lynnhaven or Rudy, Even Poquoson. Depends on weather and mood as well as where we are going to head offshore.

    Hey Scott. love your work I also tie my own buck tails. I am looking for a decent vise, what type of vise to you use?

    • @scottnra
      @scottnra  3 года назад

      Mr T It's a cheap one. Nothing special, just a generic AA vise like this one: amzn.to/3CPwNyK Probably just as well off with a nylon jaw bench vise really.

      To save going through thread, use it to secure the BT and finish off with floss. Very strong and bulky. Adds a nice shine also.

    Scott, what sized thread are you using on that bucktail?

    • @scottnra
      @scottnra  4 года назад +1

      Mark Keafer I use the D size rod building thread. Green Top used to sell it in richmond. Now the only place I can find it is Mud Hole's website.
