I just found a consistent way of getting research parts pretty frequently at a fast pace. Wait at the traveling merchant at the Gale Cliffs until morning (6:00) then wake up, and immediately rest again until around 7:30 in the morning that same day. Check her wares, and more often than not she’ll have a research part for sale. Repeat the process over again, wait until next morning, wake, wait for another 1.5 hours, etc. Idk why it does this, but I have 4 research parts after doing only 6 cycles of this. EDIT: I’m pretty sure selling fish for a certain total of money will increase your chances of her having a part the next morning. Just set out a few crab pots nearby and check it every day or so or go farming for aberrations around the area for that achievement. Has worked out pretty well for me so far.
What were you doing at 5:50:00, farming for research parts? If that's the case, how exactly do you go about doing it? I've been stuck not being able to research stuff since I did all the side quests and dredging spots and no matter how many times I rest, the wandering merchant doesn't refresh until I play the game normally. How do the mechanics for this exploit work?
the farming process was annoying. I tested at twisted strand, but it wasn't that effective, so i went back to gale cliffs. you must keep waiting there for at least 3-12 days for one research part. Also, the save and quit didn't work, i did it the hard way by waiting and more waiting.
@@dragonesseather Agreed. Considering Insym did a Dredge run walkthrough as well. If he didnt add commentary or play around a few times he would have a "Speedrun" viable walkthrough. Even with all that though he still 100% the game in 8 hours and 35 minutes. Though I will say he wasnt efficient with the engines lol, that takes a CHUNK of time.
