It's sad to admit, but the 2k8 dunk contest looked the best for presentation and game play. I would say that I suppose developers preferred to focus on other aspects of the game, but from what I've experienced with the 2k series, that's not the case.

The modern 2ks feel so barebones in comparison. Pretty much myteam or mycareer and everything else is ignored and neglected. Even still live had the better dunk contest mode in live 05-09. If I remember you could do backflip dunks, the 720, throw the ball off the shot clock or a camera that was like 25 ft up and do a cartwheel into catching your self lob and do a double under the legs with a 360 lol. Some of the craziest dunks and it was easy once you mastered it. Miss those days practicing the dunks over and over

NBA 2k10 was the first 2k I ever played on the wii I remember playing it. If you win the dunk contest a challenger will appear for a bonus round and it was so hard to beat him. I think it was Tracy Mcgrady
I still play nba2k14 on my laptop, its not the same game as you were playing. No scenes in mycareer, the menus are different as well. Also, I cried several times at that dunk contest because on keyboard the keys are far placed, I cant hit many keys at the same time, which is why I had to do simple dunks and CPU always won.
