Phinehas has about 3 or 4 previous albums that are fire. Their preceding album is their best, far and away.
The random moments this song comes on in a playlist, I'm just blown the fuck away at the musicality and the overall composition. it's really an excellent track in so many ways. It covers a wide array of metal fans and will reach others who are not as interested in metal. This song is just so fucking mind-blowing.
i need to listen this 20 times a day.. it's matching perfectly everything you can put in a metal song: solo, fatty riffage, double kick, paused riffage, lead guitar, old but gold 0s, scream, sing, breakdown, emotions.... wow
The intro and dual vocals before the solo were beautiful
This song is so unique man. The long super melodic, almost like power metal intro with the super unique bridge with two clean vocals layered on each other, while also smashing with some breakdowns. This track is definitely a song of the year contender.
I can hear what you mean by power metal, but melodeath is a closer comparison in my opinion. Much closer.

You should really really really take a trip to early 2000s metalcore. If Hope Dies, Bloodjinn, Cannae, Himsa, Phinehas, Wolves In The Throne Room, Threat Signal, Unearth, God Forbid, All That Remains, Phinehas, I mean this was a movement that took over the world of metal and for good reason. I think you love it without even realising.
