Dave is a superb rocker, he knows Rock n Roll sound and how to recreate it! He produced Shaky & The Sunsets first album - A Legend - totally authentic 👍🏻
was a nice little sub-chapter between Punk and New Wave - I arrived in London April 1981 and these guys were huge along with Polecats and Major Matchbox, older dude Shakin Stevens was No1 with Greendoor. Me? I went to see The Specials!
Vic Arnold Dave's single of this was released in 1981 on Led Zeppelin's SwanSong Records label. This also marks the first American release for The Stray Cats as well.
Yip the lads weren't wrong there he produced the stray cats well. That's why they came to the UK as they didn't make it in the states as it had already been done in the 50s and that's when the British rockabilly scene erupted and came out of the under ground but unfortunately short lived but never died off as its still running today another 40 years on what music has survived that long yeh keep pushing out the one hit wonders judges £££$$$$. Lol
Dave made them sound just right and launched them properly. I always think it's interesting how Brian Setzer has that cute lisp when he speaks but it barely comes across when he's singing.
Wow, I never realized that the Stray Cats who played with Edmunds were the same Brian Setzer & the Stray Cats. I mean I guess I should have realized that but I never made the connection. :/
Andrew Gent Nope, edmunds aint shit when you've got vastly superior producers in L.A. in that time period. Brian was smart to go after the uk market though so hats off to him for taking the brits money.

Thank's Dave for appreciating The Cats, and producing them.
Dave is a true musical craftsman who you just know is always going to ‘do it right’.

Simran Persic ;-)
+monsterjazzlicks I'm all for Brian and I certainly love it😍
Dave (along with Nick Lowe) will always be my top musician though💕
SarahDBaker This helped me kind of appreciate a bit more how important finding the right PRODUCER is.
They all look like they're having fun with this video. I like this better than the original from George.
Bloody Fantasic! Sofa king kool!
Andy Williams recorded this back in the day.

Great song from 1981 Shame it wasnt a big hit
It was for George Jones in 1964.
Yeah great song .love it
If Dave Edmunds can't make you sound good you may as well go home!
This song was recorded by Led Zeppelins Record label, Swan Song Records.
That was Dave's record company for many years.
I never knew Edmunds was a lead player...
+slide4180 McCartney hired him for Give My Regard to Broad Street.
Check out his first 3-4 records!
Listen to him play Mozart 's forte!

I know this comment was six years ago, but where had you been until then?
The first guy’s accent is interesting, it’s dead now but it sounds pleasant
Dave kinda looks like George Jones with longer hair in some of those shots...... Possum! hehe
SlipKnotRicky No!!!!

Dave is gorgeous ❤❤

Brain is not bad either
man kann sich auch verschlechtern
he was on sctv... i wasa teenage comunist for the fbi...
dave edmonds is..........OVERRATED. They could have had billy idol record it and it would have sounded even better.
Andrew Gent Nope, edmunds aint shit when you've got vastly superior producers in L.A. in that time period. Brian was smart to go after the uk market though so hats off to him for taking the brits money.
@@genxr9553 charming.dave put these boys on the map.end of.

@Langelier Fabrice agree
Edmunds in a different class from Idol on every level,be serious.
