Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has reached a verbal agreement in principle with Liverpool, according to Sky Germany.
The 39-year-old is said to have discussed a three-year contract to become Jurgen Klopp's successor.
Sky Germany report that a deal is still to be finalised between the two clubs.

As a portuguese (and a Benfica fan) I think is a good choice. Ruben Amorim likes long term projects and his personality suits it. He is generally a good guy (like Klopp) and I believe he can create an emotional connection with the club and fans, much more than other more famous coaches (like Mourinho, Tuchel etc).

And also, they are able to beat our press very well, it seems our press are not that effective, they can progress through the middle after a few passes.

Jota and Gakpo are Ideal I love Nunez as well he is a wild card but he will put it together eventually . Liverpool Fan in Japan here! There is no smoke without a fire, but it is still early days and I don't think any confirmation will come soon. Ruben Amorim however is an outstanding manager and will be a great signing by Liverpool and I made a dedicated video on how his Liverpool would look. Alot of the Japanese Liverpool fans like how he looks literally and in terms of play style! Nah, the impact of this will be minimal on the matches. The players already know Klopp is leaving. Even if Ruben is confirmed, the only doubts coming to the players mind about their future will be during the transfer window. No player will have any problem regarding their future until the end of this season. Anything problematic will arise after the season ends.
Assuming this is confirmed, maybe some players will step up to show the new gaffer what they're made of so as to hold onto the first 11.

Amorim will be the real deal at Liverpool. Klopp is elite at building a structure, harnessing emotion and being an elite manager. He has been stretched thin over the last couple of years and don't think his coaching has been as elite anymore. Now Michael Edwards is back, the new coach (hopefully Ruben) will get to concentrate on tactics, player improvement etc and will squeeze more out of certain players. He'll be inheriting an amazing squad, one which only needs a few buys (e.g. left wing-back) and sells (maybe Gravenberch). Plus some of the loanees like Carvalho and Sepp could get a real chance to shine.
Klopp used to play 4-5-1 when he had lewandowski in BvB but changed to 4-3-3 when he came to Liverpool. Discussing formations is a bit too early.
