Please please please do more Nobu recipes! It's such a good show and it feels like no one knows about it. Thank you Chef! (Edit) Can you show us how to do their pickles and Katsu Sando???
MAKE A KISU TEMPURA NEXT!!! Edit : In Thailand(my neighborhood, at least) we have this kind of fried tofu. The kind of tofu used in this was those springy, slightly dry ones, and you eat these along with some sweet and spicy sauce usually garnished by a hearty amount of Thai Parsley and some roasted peanuts. Those were my mom's favorites and the daughter if her favorite stall used to be my classmate as well
BTW isekai Nobu has both Light novel and Manga (Sadly the English manga chapter stops before it reaches 40) so if you more to the story. You can just search for it
eyy this is nice! how about something not stinky, not spicy, not sour, not bitter, not hard, not bread, not tubers, not porridge, not eggs and not stew but something tasty next?
@@CHEFPKR Yay! senpai noticed me! lol You should read the manga "Addicted to curry" it has a BUNCH of curry recipes you can try ranging from more traditional curry to modern twists and even curry bread
A school I used to go to sold this dish where they deep fry the tofu with a very light tempura batter. They then put it in a bowl and topped it with either this ankake sauce or teriyaki sauce except the sauce is super thick. The tofu was still unseasoned in the middle and the tempura batter will act like a sponge for the very thick and intense sauce. Being unseasoned meant it was the perfect vehicle for the sauce and the textural different really gets you.
I'm SO happy that you put this up! It's great that Izakaya Nobu is now finally getting some recognition! The top three dishes from the anime I hope to see you recreate is the Oden from the first episode, the pork cutlet sandwiches and Gernot's Spaghetti Neopolitan! I was also considering Menchikatsu but since it was also featured in Isekai Shokudou, that might be problematic. But another dish that I've been dying to try out is the Karaage! I personally love fried chicken dishes, so that's a personal dish I would want to make myself when I get a deep enough pan to fry them in along with plenty of cooking oil.
I have not had much experience with tofu growing up (90s Poland) but my mum-in-law is a vegetarian, and I have made up a stir-fry for her once substituting tofu for chicken meat. It came out pretty well, I think - it's really not too different from chicken breast when it's cooked.
It looks delicious. At first I thought you would let it simmer until most of the water evaporate. I'm not used to using starches to thicken things. I think I'll try it this week end. I just need to buy tofu and I'll have everything. I'll probably add rice to soak the remaining sauce after eating the tofu.
Never had tofu like that, but here we have some kind vegetable soup, usually spinach, yellow pumpkin, , cabbage, corn n tofu. Eating it with rice, fried fish n chili paste. So delicious.
we have a dish like this in here Indonesia, but instead of using savory dashi broth, we use warm ginger + palm sugar + other spices for the broth and silkier tofu. perfect for winter time and rainy day
About the star-shaped carrots, normally they don't cut them with knives, but rather the used star-shaped cookie cutters to make them. I don't know if you have a Daiso close to you, but they sell a set of them for $2, if you ever wanna give star-shaped foods in future videos another go.
Oh Isekai Nobu, that’s quite the series, not often talked about, a little odd at times (those end segments are very lifestyle-ish) but it’s short, adorable and the food looks good. Side note the part that makes the isekai world so foreign and nothing like the pre-Victorian Europe it’s stylised after is how accepting the populace is of Japanese cooking, like seriously 20-30 years ago my grandparents would never eat raw fish.
Cold silken tofu with any sort of sauce that floats your boat (i like soy, mirin, sake, hoisin, green onion, grated garlic mixed together and spooned ontop). Great on a hot day, very refreshing.
I am a new subscriber to your channel I stumbled across it while looking for an episode on food wars and by a happy accident found your food wars reacts videos I have since binge watched every food wars episode that you made and love your cooking videos! Also I just wanted to say that you have Re-inspired me to cook again after I felt that I had lost my passion for cooking working in a restaurant and I now thanks to you and you videos I am happily playing with my food… Tonight I used leftovers to make a deconstructed stuffed cabbage roll by using leftover cabbage meatloaf Prego spaghetti sauce and rice from earlier in the week. Again thank you so much for your videos and helping me to “play with my food“
This is a great way to unwind after a hard day's work. Thank you for the video! I really loved the anime so seeing you make a dish from it makes me very happy. I can't help but look forward to seeing more lol
You should react to Sweetness and Lightning. Its a very wholesome cooking anime about a single father learning how to make tasty meals for his six year old daughter.
Well this is perfect timing considering I've been re-watching Isekai Izakaya. I haven't been a big fan of tofu so far, but I do want to try doing more interesting things with it than my stepmother did(the limit of her use of tofu was adding it to soup). Maybe I'll learn to like it, which would be nice since I'm trying to eat healthier.
The two cooking shows I think you should watch are, Sweetness & Lightning as well as Gourmet Girl Graffiti (both are on Crunchyroll last I checked). Sweetness & Lightning put all the recipes in the manga so they should be easy to find. Gourmet Girl Graffiti didn't get its manga translated so I'm not sure. But, there was a blog in Japanese where they made stuff from the different episodes and someone translated those blogs to English. The first set of dishes I posted the link to in a comment reply to someone else.
@@CHEFPKR Between the two, I think Sweetness and Lightning is a better anime, but the food in Gourmet Girl Graffiti looks amazing. It's a decent anime, but Sweetness and Lightning is excellent.
Haven’t had this before. I just started looking at ways to eat tofu outside of soup; all I’ve done is pan fried it with tsuyu base and sesame oil, then serve with rice and steamed peas. It was good, but I cut the tofu too thick and large.
Why do I want this? Like it looks super light and unappealing, yet I'd try it. Also caught your stream a bit last night, almost got me wanting to get a VR headset for Beat Saber........almost.

This anime is so entertaining the food looks great funny to see how much the customers love the draft beer and they call it what's on tap haha the more I think about it the more it seems the god did not put half ther restaurant in a different world it was placed back in time to a kingdon in medieval Germany
