Yeah the GCPD was very different in Batman’s early days. Almost every officer was on the take and worked for the mob to ‘keep the peace’ compared to later years where they work alongside with Batman. It also shows how aware Barbra was about the ‘status quo’ and why she looked to Batman as away to better the city she knew the corruption ran deep and saw Batman as a hope for Gotham.
59:19 The best part is that he still has Santa hat on. Developers: We've got to make sure the players understand/remember who this guy is. I've got it, Santa hat.
It's the only line you can use NAT 🤘🤘 I could never understand the negative reviews it's a joy to play & with a fabulous story as you're finding out 🙏 you're doing a splendid job & it's always a something to look forward to, merry Christmas 🎄🎁💖 thank you & jonesy for all the positive energy & happiness to supply us with 🤗🌻🐝
Hey Nat great video, that is a great title, this one is one of my favorite batman games its so dark and gritty compared to Asylum and City wish they made a remaster of this one, but really enjoying the playthrough, have played this game a few times but you have made it relaxing to watch, hope you have a cosy and relaxing christmas
1:00:13 Branden is actually from the comics. Not a major character but he is one of the main examples of corruption in the GCPD during Batman's early years.
I also don't get the hatred for this game, I absolutely love it. Enjoy it, don't listen to people who never played it and just based their opinion and comment on what other people said just because they try to fit in. Enjoy!
1:40:30 Yes you knocked Gordon out, but you also got him out of the line of fire. And given what you read about Brandon in his bio it wouldn't have surprised me if he just opened fire once the smoke was dropped and if Gordon got killed in the crossfire, he wouldn't have felt bad about it.
Replaying this for Christmas. It is a Christmas-themed Arkham City that doesn't improve much and has some glitches (one of which once forced me to restart the game over from the beginning), but I like the story and the upgraded crime scene investigation. Could really benefit from a remake to iron out all those glitches.
19:57 It isn't. But I won't tell you how because I don't want to "backseat game." Or is saying that it isn't already backseat gaming? Sorry if you think that it is Nat.
I think Origins got a bad rap because it came out so soon after Arkham City which at the time was considered one of the best games ever made it seemed like. Then you add that this game was done by a different studio, it had a mostly different voice cast, they recycled the map from City with only a few changes, and it was kind of buggy, so it felt to some people like little more than a DLC that they paid full price of a game for. There are other reasons, but I can't get into without possibly spoiling something, so I won't say any more. But I feel like if this game had come out on its own it without Arkham Asylum and City preceding it this would've been considered one of the greatest superhero games ever. It was just the success of the previous games that made it less liked. In my opinion however I think it's a great game and a worthy addition to the rest of the Arkham series, and I think it's getting more appreciation as time goes on.
I’m so glad you were able to use that quote for the title. The chuckle I got when I saw it was very much needed.

Indeed, you can really see the difference between their role in this game and Arkham Knight.

Really liking the more detective approach and Brutality of Batman in this game. Glad you're having fun
