Thank you so much Doug for mentioning me. In our videos on Bauforum24 we use to say "Haben ist besser als brauchen" and you absolutely got the meaning. I should send you a T-Shirt with that Motto as soon as we get them in. But I also have another one which you seem to live: "Du weisst erst was gut ist, wenn Du weisst was gut ist" which I would translate into "You don't knpw what's good until you know what's good" ;-) Keep up the good work! Best Regards, André
Andre that's so kind of you I love the sayings. I see more signs coming in the future. And I would love to have one of the shirts. I truly truly love the expression on you guys face when you were doing the video that was beyond awesome.
I’ve been watching nothing but woodworking videos on RUclips for 13 months now and can’t believe it took a year until I stumbled upon you. Your shop tour video was the most emotion I’ve felt in a long time 😂😂. I love the ingenuity in the organization as well as all your woodworking projects. Working on a ton of Doug blocks as we speak! You make fantastic videos chalked full of information. Never change!
Matt. That is so kind thank you buddy I'm so glad you found it. I hope you enjoy all the videos.. I'll keep em coming . Thank you my friend thank you so much. I hope the Doug blocks work out great for you. I know they will they worked good for me. Thank you buddy thank you so much. I won't change anything. Thank you buddy happy holidays from Doug
Levi that's so kind of you thank you my friend thank you so much. And you're absolutely correct buddy. Thank you so much for reaching out I appreciate that I sincerely do. I hope you enjoyed the video and all the videos thank you buddy thank you thank you from Doug
Thank you for saying that your shop gets dirty and dusty. I thought that I was doing something wrong all of these years. LOL Thank you also for sharing your passion with us. Your shop is amazing and it is fun to see you enjoying what you love. Peace and sawdust to you my friend.
Thank you my friend thank you so much for watching. And taking the time to comment that makes it all worthwhile to me. It's so nice to hear from you and I'm so glad you like the shop. It's my little piece of heaven on Earth and I love it that way and it's my honor that you do too. And thank you my friend a million thank you from Doug
I watched the shop vid first...I’m glad I did...your explanation and planning where perfect...you have an honest way about yourself and it comes across...thanks...I’ll check out some more of your vids.
Donald you were so kind my friend thank you. I'm honored my friend I truly am and thank you so much. I appreciate that my friend I truly do and I will keep the videos coming and thank you thank you from Doug
I have to say, you are the kind of guy RUclips needs. Funny, respectful and showing what you love. Thats very rare to find guys like you on this platform. Those haters are here since RUclips started...don`t get stopped by that "hate". Stoked for your future content...I will be there to watch and learn. Btw if you need help with editing and stuff, let me know.
That is so so very kind of you. thank you so much. I understand what you're saying completely understand. you go through all this work to make the videos put them out there and then all some haters can do is find something bad to say. I'll never understand that as long as I live. Besides from being the nicest person I possibly can. every video I watch whether I like it or not I give them a thumbs-up they made the effort. So even if I don't agree or like I'll still give them the thumbs up. and I'm so happy to hear you think the same way. And I appreciate the offer from the help. I will probably be taking you up on that. if you get a chance and you don't mind saying please let me know your name please. I just feel that's more. Polit when you talkin to someone you want to consider a friend. And thank you again so much from Doug
That was my first thought about this shop it's to clean must not be much work going on I know what a mess it makes when you get a project going glad to hear you say what a chore it was to clean it up extremely impressed with your setup and organisation I can only imagine how much work it would be to setup a shop like this atmosphere means everything to be creative some things may seem unnecessary to some people but a shop like this would be a great place to feel like nothing is impossible to create not to mention the tools to do it
Brian thank you my friend thank you for watching all the way through. I can't tell you how many people actually think it stayed clean all the time. I would have never thought so many years people would not realize that I cleaned the shop up before I made the video. So glad to hear you did. And yes buddy I've been working on it a very long time. I've been working in and on that shop for over 20 plus years now. But more importantly thank you thank you so much for taking the time to comment and say so. That means a lot to me from Doug
Thank you my friend thank you so much that is so kind of you. I sincerely appreciate that. May I please wish you and your family a very happy New year's. Thank you again so much from Doug
Thanks for the additional detail from the tour... Santa is certainly envious of this shop! My mind was blown on the last video when you slapped that saw blade back in the drawer. Thanks also for the blueprints. I was thinking just that about the time you mentioned you were including one in the video. I had the shop orientation much different in my head. Also also - love the philosophy of just getting everything you need before you need it. I absolutely despise looking for screws and bolts at the hardware store.
Thank you my friend thank you. Again I'm honored that you like the shop I truly am. And I hope some of my layout and details help you out with your shop. and I'm honored that you take the time to watch I truly am .thank you thank you so much from Doug
Hi Doug. I have been looking at what you have on your chanel , and i have to say that they are interesting, but most of all , you seem to be a kind and generous person to my eyes. Keep it up! :-)
roy that is so nice of you thank you. I appreciate you watching my friend I truly do and thank you thank you so much that is such a kind thing to say. You make it all worthwhile my friend you truly do. And thank you again so much from Doug
I get it Man, it’s a whole lot easier to have 2 saws, or 3 drills, instead of wasting time doing a setup, I have more fun creating than I do setting up a machine, I would like to shake your hand, and mister Berto’s , maybe some day, you never know. Thanks again for sharing.
JAMES IM AM SO SORRY IM SO LATE REPLYING TO YOU. YUOTUBE PUT YOUR COMMENT IN MY HELD FOR REVUE SECTION AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY .AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT ON THE TOOL SET UP .IT WOULD BE An HONOR TO SHAKE YOUR HAND.AND THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH. FROM DOUG
My first impresion from your first video was that you had built a woodworkers doll house. There was no sawdust to be seen, and everything was just perfect!!!! I'm very happy you produced this video because now I understand and admire you for not only what you do, but more importantly , how you think. Like you, I love my tools, but still need to improve my skills.
Robert that is so kind so so very kind. thank you so much and I'm so happy to hear you like things neat and organized and a place for everything and everything in its place. And we all have to keep improving our skills. I don't think you can ever truly reach total perfection. Every time you turn around there's something new to learn. But I'll always do my best. And thank you so so very much again from Doug
Your mannerisms and laugh show the genuine joy and happiness you feel while working in your shop and when making your videos. Keep the fun and videos coming. Al the best 👍🏻
That's so kind of you. I'm sincerely humbled. Thank you so much I sure hope you enjoyed them like the videos. And I'm truly happy you appreciate my little humor 🤪🤪 thank you again so much from Doug
I had a small shop back in the 90s - a divorce later and now apartment to apartment - could not tell you the piece of mind it was just hanging out in the shop - God bless you Doug!
You don't have to tell me that Kelly I completely understand. I truly truly do period and the same to you my friend God bless you to my friend. And thank you . Thank you . From Doug
Dave thank you again that's so nice of you to say so and I sincerely do appreciate you taking time to do that. That means so much to me. I hope everything's great over there in Ireland we just dodged a big hurricane over here in Texas. But other than that all is good. And thank you again so much from Doug
Hello Mr. Doug in addition to the tools that are the main parts in your workshop, the personal touch that you build each countertop, table and support is what you really value and shows your love and care for them, I think it doesn't matter the size and quantity of tools you have, but the pleasure you have with them. Much health to mr.
Jose that is so kind of you and you are absolutely correct. I consider my shop my little piece of heaven on Earth. And I'm truly honored that you took the time to watch and that you enjoyed it. And thank you again so much from Doug
Sorry I hit the button too soon. Mars hits Cypress North Houston right by barwood bend. Move there in 70 I think it was.. sometime in the late 80s I bought a large 8 acre piece of land on Grant road right near Perry. I sold it off to a home developer a few years later. Nowadays I live in the spring Branch area. Let me know if you ever come back around. From Doug
Camille thank you so much and you took the words right out of my mouth. I endede consider you a friend and thank . Stay safe out there please. I'll be Sending more out soon. Thank you again so much from Doug
Andy you are so very welcome is my pleasure when I hear from such wonderful nice people like yourself. That is so kind of you and thank you so much. From Doug
John I'm so glad to hear that. And I'm so glad to hear from you. I put a package in the mail to you did you by chance receive it yet it was coming through the mail
@@fleetswoodshop3339 No, I have not seen it yet, but that's not surprising as all shipping seems to be very slow. You didn't have to do that, but I really appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing your Videos, I enjoy looking at the different ideas, I am always thinking about improving the efficiency and convenience of my work toolbox, and my shop at home. You’re shop is a 100, on a scale of 1 to 10!!! Can’t say enough about how impressive your shop and person are, Top Notch, please keep the videos coming?
James that is so kind of you. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos my friend. And I hope you find a lot of good ideas for your shop in the videos. And thank you thank you so much for reaching out. I've been working in and on that shop coming up about 30 years now. And I enjoy every minute in there. It's truly a pleasure to know that you enjoy it. My friend that makes it all worthwhile thank you very much from Doug. And I certainly will keep making those videos
James my friend how are you doing. According to RUclips you sent me a comment six or seven hours ago but it didn't show up until I checked my I haven't responded. Which is a setting in the RUclips analog screen. I can't respond to the comment there but I can read it. I don't know why it does that to me sometimes. But you are so right having more than one of a certain tool makes work so much easier. And it would be an honor to shake your hand my friend. Let me know if you're ever in the Houston area it would be a pleasure and thank you buddy thank you so much from Doug
A sign of a good man (despite having a magnificent workshop) - you are humble. It would be great to see a history of the shop, with old footage and photographs. If ever a "making of" was worth seeing, then here!
Benjamin thank you my friend so much. I'm so happy you liked the shop and I'm honored by your comment sir. I'm afraid as I was building the shop I didn't take too many pictures or video of any kind. The few pictures that I do have I put them in my question-and-answer video. And I would be honored if you where to watch it. And thank you again I'm so sincerely honor I truly am. And I'll do my best to keep more coming out and thank you thank you from Doug
We all aspire to have a well outfitted, well laid out shop to play in. Tools are for me, both visually pleasing as well functional toys to help me fill my days. Seeing your shop helps me to organize my shop better. Cam
Hey thank you my friend thank you. Yes over the last 2 years me and guy have become very good friends. We talked quite often. He's a really really nice guy. very informative really knows what he's talking about. His military background just an all-around great guy. And thank you again my friend thank you from Doug
Thank you my friend thank you I'm going to get to work on that side immediately you can Bank on it. I just got to find out how to not to misplace this. thank you again so much and you have a merry merry blessed happy Christmas. From Doug

I congratulate you sir, you have the attitude and manner that most people would surely be envious of. Best regards to you from an Irish man living in Finland.
Fergal you are too kind my friend. Thank you that is so nice of you to say so. I'm so very happy you liked the shop and thank you so much for watching. I truly appreciate that. From Doug
I’m sat in bed having breakfast in england and showing my wife the tour video saying how I want the same. She just laughed....and laughed.....and laughed some more. Absolutely love this channel and your presentation skills. Please keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you so much. That has got to be one of the nicest comments I've heard. Thank you so much I'm so glad you enjoyed the shop.and I'm honored you enjoyed the videos. I will sincerely do my best. Thank you so much from Doug
John my friend good to hear from you so good to hear I hope all is doing well. I'm glad you enjoyed it I sincerely am and thank you my friend thank you from Doug
Next time my wife says that I'm "obsessive" about my woodworking hobby and organization, I'll plan to show her your shop tour video. Seriously though, your shop is AMAZING and a testament to many hours, days, months, years, and dare I say DECADES committed to quality and efficiency in your craft/passion. Most will make excuses for why it's impossible to have their dream shop themselves (without a tool manufacturer RUclips sponsor of course), but you're making it happen. WELL DONE SIR! P.S. I've been watching RUclips woodworking videos for years and I have absolutely no idea how I've never come across your channel. You've got a new subscriber today and this may just be my first comment.
Adam I am so happy to hear you subscribed and I give you my sincere promise I will keep them coming as long as I'm breathing more on the shop and more projects everything. I don't put out the most videos in the world but I will definitely keep them coming by all means. Don't let your wife rough you up too much .and organize shopping a clean shop is the best funnest and most easiest shop to work in. And no I don't have any sponsors of any kind it's just me. and on the note of my videos I never really intended to do a RUclips video although friends have asked me for years .to make a video of the shop and put it out there I just never really had the time. When this coronavirus thing came around I figured I'd give it a shot. and a lot of people seem to enjoy it so I've been making a few more and now I guess I'll have to keep doing it. I've been watching all the videos for years and years too but like I say only been out about 4 months now I think. And you're the best my friend thank you from Doug
Thank you Pat thank you so very much you were truly welcome. And yes my friend it does get very dirty just like all shops. And thank you again so much for watching from Doug
Greatest respect for this discipline to organize your time and your surroundings in order to create something like this. You already gave me some ideas to turn my workshop into a tool oasis, too. Thanks for the inspiration!!
You are so very welcome and I'm so happy. That you enjoyed and like the. If you have not seen it yet I have a full shop out there on the channel. and I'm so happy you found some things that you could use that's what makes me the happiest. Thank you from Doug
Love your sense of humour and your Shop. Took the full tour and am truly impressed by your abilities! Take care...Gary from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Keep thinking Big Doug!
Gary that's so kind of you to stop and say so I appreciate that my friend. I sincerely do. I have lots of in-laws that live in Canada and I get up there quite often mostly Quebec or Montreal. Beautiful country up there I really love it. and thank you again so much from Doug I appreciate you very much
Pfff i knew the whole thing was made out of card board just for RUclips! You have the most amazing shop i have ever seen. Not because of the insane amount of tools but because of the love you put in it. Can`t wait for more videos. Totally subscribing.
Evul you got me smiling from ear-to-ear my friend. Thank you so very much. I can't tell you how much the subscription means to me that is so very kind of you and I am truly truly honored. I'm so happy you enjoyed the videos and the shop and I'll do my very best to keep it coming I promise. Thank you again so much from Doug
Doug your an interesting fellow my friend and your blessed as i am with doing what you love to do rather than doing what you have to do- when your lucky enough to have that, its not work. I'll figure out something to send you to display in your shop, talk soon stay safe.
Michael so good to hear from you. Thank you my friend thank you very much. I'm so glad you get to enjoy your passion also. I would be honored I mean honored to have something my friend. That would be a blessing. and I'll be looking forward to it thank you buddy thank you very much
You have an amazing shop. Thanks for taking the time to answer some personal questions that I’m sure lots of people have thought about. I enjoy your videos and look forward to more.
Chuck thank you so very much. Always my pleasure to answer any questions I can. And thank you so much. I'm working on more . Thank you . Thank you . From Doug
Tim that's so nice of you to take the time and say so I am truly honored and appreciate that so much. And I'll do my best to keep them coming and thank you thank you from Doug
Doug, when I shared the video with my friends, here’s what I wrote: “If you didn’t see this, it goes into the details of the shop. Just as amazing as the shop tour.. The guy is just a rare combination of so many things: intelligence, ingenuity, creativity, time, organization, etc. Also, obviously a successful businessman and he’s still a humble guy. Fascinating.” You are amazing, my friend. BTW, been going crazy looking for those storage trays. Source would be great. Take care, stay healthy.
Hey John thank you so much. I think I got this message a little while ago I'm not absolutely certain but I believe I did. But if I'm in Dreamland and didn't thank you again my friend thank you so much that's so kind of you. I'm so glad you like the shop I really am. And I'm so sorry I wish I could put a link for the storage trays I truly do. But I don't know how to do that but I did get them at northern tools. They also sell them on Amazon you have to buy the trays and the case they don't sell the trays separately. Home Depot also has them. I sure hope you can find them my friend I truly am and thank you again so much and a merry Merry Christmas from Doug
Grecque. Thank you thank you thank you I appreciate you taking the time to say so my friend I really do and your kind words how thoughtful of you. you're the best I sincerely mean that and thank you again from Doug
Beautiful shop. Thank you for the kind words you had for my shop video. I have a ways to go, but I am only a hobbyist and just started setting up my shop 10 months ago. I look forward to seeing your future videos.
Andersen. You are so very welcome and it's so truly earned. and thank you again for taking the time to watch I am so happy that you did. Always good to hear from you. Be safe out there and I'll talk to you real soon and thank you now. From Doug
Andrew thank you that's so kind of you. I might have mentioned it sometime in the past I was born in Louisiana New Orleans to be exact. How did y'all fare through that last hurricane. I have some good friends in lake Charles and they got beat up pretty good
Fleets Wood Shop yes, Lake Charles is still picking up the pieces from Laura unfortunately, they really got hit hard. As for Delta, God truly blessed us on that one, not a single shingle was blown off our house. However, most everyone else did get some damage. The power companies worked hard too and got everyones power back on in record time.
Andrew awesome that is great to know my friend I'm glad y'all are okay and came out so well. We go down to L'Auberge in lake Charles now and then and I've been going for many years and have made a lot of friends there. Hate to say it but a couple of the bartenders. And my host and some very very nice folks work in the office and they all got hurt pretty bad. Thank God y'all did great I'm so glad to hear that
Great videos Doug, I appreciate the shout out for the wood I sent! I recently came across a couple more woods from the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. I will hold a couple of pieces back for you - will be a while before I send them.
John that is so good to hear from you thank you so much. I'll be waiting for them I would love to have them. I sent the package to you last week did you by chance get it yet it was through the mail
John I'm so sorry I don't know why it's taking so long it's been over a week and a half now thank you for letting me know and please keep me informed. And thank you so much from Doug
Nice wood assortment from John. Ford and Firestone's research has left an unparalleled legacy to the world in botanical as well as industrial spheres. Here in Florida, their shops and labs are enjoyed widely. After this virus has been managed you may find a visit very rewarding. Thanks for your sharing.
I will make a point of that believe me. I have some in laws in Florida so I have reasons to go that way. And thank you for the input I appreciate that so much from Doug
You’re shop is absolutely outstanding, but so are. We all really appreciate you taking time out of your day to make videos for everyone to be able to see the great work you’ve done over the years in your shop. I’m starting to design my shop and it is a process!! I’m designing hardware organizer and have been looking around for individual bins. I was talking to some friends about a new wood shop that is being built at work and they told me about your work shop. Words can’t describe how amazing your work is!! It is absolutely phenomenal and one of a kind. I seen that you said you had stack-on plastic bins. Do you still buy any of the bins and/or know if they are still available for purchasing? I’m wanting to make hardware organizers like you’ve done in your shop so I don’t have to worry about companies changing their storage container designs every other few years. I’m just like you and want everything organized and looking clean. If you have any advice on making the organizers or where to get the bins from it would be more than greatly appreciated. You have set the new standard for what a work shop should look like! Once again thank you so much for making your videos.
My friend let me say thank you thank you so much that's such a nice thing to say I truly and sincerely appreciate that. and I'm so glad to hear your designing and laying out your shop before you build it that makes it so much easier it truly does. And yes those stack on Ben's are still available. I originally bought them all at home Depot and like I say I used their trays not their holders. They're flexible they don't break very durable really like them a lot.. northern tools also carries them. And I've seen them on Amazon. you want to make sure the trays are the flexible plastic not the hard plastic the hard plastic ones will break very easily. I believe they're called poly plastic trays. But you can tell when you touch one you can twist it around and it'll move but it won't break. And I'm so glad to hear you're a fellow. clean freak 🤪🤪. I wouldn't have it any other way clean and organized as the way to go. And once more my friend I sincerely sincerely appreciate you watching and commenting. Thank you thank you so much from Doug
@@fleetswoodshop3339 It’s so funny you say that. I was looking around for the individual bins after I bought a akro-mils 64 plastic bin case. Then found some a little bigger than the bins I have but they were like $1.50 each and I’m like I might as well buy more of the akro-mils bins and build my own housing for them. Thank you so much!!!!! That is great to know that I’m on the right track with organizing!!!!! Once I start getting everything built I will definitely email you some pics of how I build them. I will definitely be using your peg board techniques. I designed foldable work bench that will fold up and fit on the wall inside a frame. Inside the frame I’m going to have peg board to organize a lot of my tools. Now I’m going to go back to the drawing board and making it so I have multiple peg boards that slide to fit more on. Thank you so much and I can’t say it enough. Your work is going to inspire a lot of people to do amazing things like you’ve done. I will probably also do my drawers like you did yours with the foam inserts cut out for the tools. I’ve always wanted to do my own cases and different type of organizers because if you buy them pre made the manufacturers like to change designs then you’re screwed and it won’t all look the same. I’m a huge neat freak and like having everything match. All my power tools are Milwaukee and I stand behind them. It’s great that you can buy all the power tools you need from Milwaukee and keep the same brand. It bugs me a little to have different brand tools. I’ll buy them if I have to so I can get by with a product but then will eventually go back and buy a Milwaukee one. All of their products are just amazing and they are now making specialty tools for all trades that suit that trade. I definitely can’t wait to show you the projects I have coming up in the near future!!
Thank you my friend thank you so much it's good to hear all of that. building your own rack for the trays is the best way to go that way you can always stack on top of it and continue on the same process and keep everything looking the same which works wonderful. Also organizing the drawers with the phone. I have two drawers that I didn't show on the video . where to lift up the first pan and there's more underneath it deep drawer where I put shallow tools. And you're absolutely right about the Milwaukee's I'm very happy with them. Like I was saying I had recently upgraded to all of them and so far it's been wonderful. and I look forward to getting your email and seeing the pictures when you send them that will be a pleasure to see. And I'm so glad to hear you're finding inspiration in the videos I truly am my friend thank you thank you so much from Doug
Doug, just wanted to hank you for taking the time to do this video. You were able to answer a few questions that I had. The one question that I haven’t seen yet.....is who won your contest, or did I just miss the announcement. Please be safe and I’ll be looking for more of your videos.
Jon. Thank you. It's so so kind of you to say so. The date for the drawing ended on the 24th. I film the drawing on the 26th.and I'm just waiting for my assistant to get back so we can download it and put it out on RUclips. And again thank you so so very much. I'm sincerely honored that you take the time to watch. And I'll do my very best to keep it coming I have several I'm working on. Thank you again so much from Doug
Thanks for taking the time to answer all the questions about your shop Doug. I like the wood sample wall (I like it ALL but the sample wall is cool). What size are the samples you have displayed for those who may have samples they want to send.
But that is so thoughtful of you my friend thank you. I'm so glad you like to shop buddy I truly am. They are exactly 3 in by 12 in by a half inch thick some of them are 5/8 but most are a half inch thick. And I would love to have a new one. That is so kind and thoughtful as you thank you thank you. I put my PO box in the show more section of the woodshop video. And please let me know the cost of shipping so I can repay for it please. And thank you so much from Doug
Matt thank you so much for watching. And yes sure it's very heavy it doesn't move at all. Not to mention the cabinet also. And thank you so much from Doug
Shane that is so kind of you. I'm so happy you like it please give it a try. You can be very creative with that process. And thank you so much from Doug
I really enjoy seeing your shop, you have come up with some great ideas. I am definitely incorporating some of these things I see into my shop for improvement. Thanks for the great videos.
Michael you are so very welcome. It is my pleasure sir I'm so. so glad and honored that you took the time to watch and saw some things you could use. So so very nice of you to take the time to say so. And thank you so much from Doug. please if you don't mind hit that like button and subscribe I've got a lot more coming and it means so much to me. Thank you again my friend
In Christ we have liberty in our shortcomings and humor. I appreciate your play on words (e.g. shoping). I noticed a drawer containing "Rabbit Chisels" which made me chuckle, thinking that everything seems to reproduce rapidly, hence the copious supplies. Often I hear unintended words (gaffes) spoken in prayers. Invariably, God redirects my thinking through the gaffe, which gives me fresh insights into His thoughts for me and all those He loves. God bless you!!
Bob thank you so very much. May God bless you and yours my friend I appreciate that very much. I like the way you think my friend. And thank you so so very much. From Doug
Steven thank you my friend thank you I appreciate you watching Sir I sincerely do. If I can ever answer any question or help with anything please don't hesitate to ask and thank you so much . From Doug
Darth. thank you my friend thank you so much I'm going to put that one back into you so I'm actually working on that at the moment. and thank you thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment I appreciate that so much. Merry Christmas and a Happy New years to you my friend and thank you again from Doug
Hey Doug your shop is truly amazing very inspiring to go to that extreme detail for a workshop I take my hat of to you , also curious as to where you do your polishing as i haven't seen a spray booth keep those videos coming
Hey Phil how you doing buddy thank you my friend thank you so much. Most of my larger spraying with the spray gun I had a portable Booth I would set up. Since I've made the shop tour I've built the small spray booth is actually a video on the channel about it. I've had thoughts of a larger interior one. but I really don't find myself spraying that many larger items. so the smaller ones been working well for the time being. I've built so many cabinets and furniture in my life. Nowadays I've gotten into more of the craft woodworking and woodturning. Been working in and on that shop for well over 25 years now. And it's really like heaven on Earth being in there working. which I actually am at the moment. And yes my friend I will definitely keep the videos coming and thank you thank you so much from Doug
Moin moin Doug. I'm watching all of your videos right now .. Just the thing for Christmas. I saw your channel on Bauforum24 .. By the way, moin moin means something like hello. I am at home in Northern Germany and Low German is spoken there, well, not all of them. Merry Christmas again. Greetings JOJO
JoJo thank you that is so nice. And a big hello to you too my friend. I sure hope you enjoy the videos. And I can't say thank you enough for watching. It was a blast to have an Andre here. He was great. And very nice. And thank you for teaching me. Moin Moin. That's great. Merry Christmas and a happy New year Jojo and thank you thank you so much from Doug
That's so kind of you you are so nice. To say so. I usually do manage to crack myself up sometimes. I try and keep it under control. And thank you so much for taking the time to watch I am honored. From Doug

Chau I love it that's so nice of you to tell. That's another sign I'll have to put up on my wall now. thank you thank you so much and thank you for watching and taking the time to compliment I truly appreciate that. From Doug
Good to hear from you Jeu . And thank you so much. I'm so glad you liked it. Earlier last year I was in Barcelona. We got off a cruise ship there and I spent the week in town. I don't remember the name of the road. But we were at a very nice Marriott hotel. That is quite unique. All the lobby area is open to the outside. All the way up to the 30th floor. And a whole bunch of Street markets and little quaint restaurants around everywhere. Had a great time being there. And thank you again for watching I'm truly honored. From Doug
I thought me owning 6 angle grinders for my diy stuff I do was a bit over to odds. After watching your wood shop tour... I better keep buying more tools. I don’t think I need so many clamps. 😃😃
You have six grinders wow I thought I had a lot with two. You're awesome my friend thank you thank you. I've had a long long time to acquire the tools. Coming up on 40 years worth. And thank you again my friend.. and believe me I do run out of one certain size of a clamp now and then. 🤪🤪🤪
@@fleetswoodshop3339 2 corded grinders which I don’t use much because I don’t have power in my garage, and 4 cordless. The majority of my tools for now, are cordless, again due to not having power in my garage. Even my sliding Ryobi mitre saw is cordless. I also have plenty of drills. 😃😃
That's awesome my friend cordless tools are great. Milwaukee makes a small cordless table saw that I've seen a demonstration on and it worked awesome. And I hope you get power in the garage soon I truly do. I know how big of a help that would be. From Doug
I've been watching a lot of videos from different woodworkers the last few months and I think all of them or nearly all of them use that Bosch miter saw. If that's not an endorsement I don't know what is. I have my eye on one mostly just because of the extension method, it doesn't have giant rails that stick off the back like most saws so it takes up much less space away from the wall.
Tyler you're absolutely correct that's a very good saw. and that was my reason for going with it number one it is very accurate. Number two it's very adjustable if need be and number three. It doesn't take up the space awesome saw to have really is. My only regret. I wish I had bought one 10-in and one12-in instead of two 12-in. Not because of the saw size because of the different blades that I can put on a 10-in that I cannot put on a 12-in because they don't make them in 12-in. And thank you thank you my friend I hope you get one soon
He should show us some videos or some pictures of the shop before you cleaned it I think that would make us all feel that we can clean our shops to sometimes you look at your shop and it's just so overwhelming thank you so very very much for your videos I love your channel and I'm really impressed you bring a lot of enjoyment and a lot of inspiration to all of us keep up the good work and maybe we could show us Mrs. Fleetwood she sounds like a wonderful lady so happy that you're blessed and you show it that you're blessed there's really not much of that going around these days love you all keep up the good work
Scott so good to hear from you. That is so kind of you. I'll try and make sure I put a dirty shop in the video. And your kind words warm my heart and put a smile on my face. And thank you so so very much from Doug
Scott of course I'll respond. I consider everyone important and I so greatly appreciated. And I say thank you again so much. Anything I can ever answer a do for you feel free to let me know. Thank you again from Doug
I am rebuilding my house. It was totally destroyed from Hurricane Harvey. I will be doing sheetrock soon so I will look up That Kilted Guy's channel. Thanks, Danny from Houston!!!
I discover your shop tour on a french forum here in Quebec, Canada and love it, I've look at your inlay video before this one and big thanks for showing it, very appreciated, and you talk about the kill switch or the Milwaukee batteries, why dont you have a timer instead, you put the charge on, and your sure that 30 or 60 minutes later there at off position, or this is your kill switch Thanks again.
Normand I'm so happy you got to watch the video my friend thank you so much. I'm sincerely honored that you took the time and let you enjoyed the video. the timer switch is probably a great idea if I can get one in a 20 amp . Capacity most timer switches only go up to 15 amp. But on the commercial end I might be able to find one. And thank you for the great thought. I will definitely look into that. And thank you again so much from Doug
Doug you should really consider making a separate room (museum) just for the antique and vintage tools. Make some nice cabinets & shelves to house them so they can be seen up and close. You can't really appreciate them up high on the wall.
Hello T E. Thank you buddy thank you very much. That's a great idea. I just don't have that room at the moment. But I love the thought and the idea. I am actually looking to expand here in about a year. I think I might just do that my friend. And thank you so very much I hope you enjoyed the shop tour my friend. Thank you buddy thank you from Doug. And great to hear from you
@@fleetswoodshop3339 I'm watching your updated tour right now. I love see other peoples shops. I'm a finish carpenter by trade for over 35 yrs. Finally got a two car garage that I'm slowly turning into a woodshop and always looking for ideas from others. I love restoring old woodworking tools sometime when I have the time and if I had more room I would definitely have a room dedicated just for that. I think some of them are just so beautiful to look at.
@@t.e.1189 hey my friend that's awesome I hope you enjoy the video buddy. I'll gladly answer any questions absolutely. And I've been a finish Carpenter myself that's where I got started. Running base and trim and window sill. Installing prefab cabinet. Crown mold hanging doors all that good stuff. Moved up into Custom Homes after that back in the early 80s. Customs farewells custom Cam that you name it. Had a lot of fun doing that. Then wound up in commercial construction. Now all I do nowadays is remodel high-rise office building Interiors. Not much pride you can take in that but it does pay well at least I can say that. That's why you see so many ladders extension cords and stuff in my shop plus that tool room where I keep tools to do the job site. It's a joy nowadays to be in the shop and do creative things with wooden resin is my pleasure and my joy. I hope your shop turns out wonderful for you I know it will. And I'll be looking forward to the videos thank you buddy thank you so much from Doug
@@fleetswoodshop3339 Did you ever complete your drill press update you spoke about in the updated shop tour video. I would love to see that. I looked for a video on, but didn't see one.
No my friend I'm still working on that one. I've been so busy with work lately I haven't been able to spend that much time in the shop. And I won't begin to start telling you how sad that makes me. Cuz that's my favorite place. But I'll be getting it done soon. And thank you again so much
my husband and I are just in awe of your workshop!! Any chance you sell tickets? So we can come see it in real life? Maybe make something? I am amazed at your talent in wood working and organization skills! I would rather have this than any dream kitchen... I have a million questions for you lol!!
Emily that is so nice of you. I'm so happy you enjoyed the shop. it's my pride and joy I've been working on it and in it for over 20 years. It's my Little piece of heaven on Earth. And no I don't sell. But I will gladly show you the shop. If you happen to live close enough. I'm in Houston. And feel free to ask me any questions you would like. And thank you thank you from Doug
Fleets Wood Shop I do not blame you one bit! When I met my husband, 23 years ago he had a few tools. I never understood why he needed 6 delta saws, but he taught me how to use them and then I understood the the importance of multiple tools. I don’t know what you spent on this (I’ve read people asking you... that’s kind of personal lol) but it’s worth every last cent! People need a hobby and it doesn’t get much better than woodworking. Doing what you love creating something useful and beautiful. I used to could pick out anything in a Pottery Barn catalog and my husband would build it. Sad thing is he started building for a living (decks, additions, fences), and I think he got burned out. Our tools got outdated so we sold them (and the house with the workshop) and now we’re building a farm! One day we will build another workshop. We are in Tennessee so we’re not too close but I’m always up for a road trip. One thing on my wish list is a cnc. I didn’t see one in your shop but was curious if you had one. The glowforge is kind of cool too. I love the big script initials cut out of beautiful wood. What is the biggest thing you have made in there? I would move our king size bed in there and just call it home!
Emily good to hear back from you. It was good hearing the story. I'm actually sorry he sold off the old tools. I love restoring old tools. But the funny thing is I've always done it for somebody else. Besides from the maintenance and upkeep on my own of course. Delta used to be my favorite brand. But they've been bought and sold so many times over the years. They're just another chinese-made cheap tool nowadays. And no I don't have a CNC. Please please don't get me wrong I'm not knocking them at all. They're just not for me. and I don't blame you I would stay here twenty-four-seven and put a bed into also. But my wife and daughter would like that very much 🙂. And thank you again from Doug
Fleets Wood Shop I understand (about the cnc) it takes away the beauty of the item being “hand made” I think the beauty is the real woods. I love different woods together! For Easter I got a 18v Ryobi jigsaw, I love it!! We still have Ryobi tools that we bought in 2002. I cut doorhangers with that, and for Mother’s Day, he got me the 18v circular saw, a Ryobi rotary tool, the 18v corner sander... and 3 more 18v tools. We have really had great luck with Ryobi!
I'm so glad to hear that yes I like the Ryobi tools also. The very durable an affordable. And I'm so so happy you enjoy working with wood that's always great to here. And thank you so much from Doug
No problem at all. most times when you have to have multiple setups for a router head like as if you were making a raised door panel. The pieces that your routing are very thin like 2 or 3 in. So it's no problem. Even on the middle head if the other two are set up with a bit I can still route up two 12in wide. And depending on the angle I set the guides at. I can do up to about eight feet without any big issues. And thank you so much for asking. From Doug
And very good to hear from you Brad thank you. I built a lot of boxes I don't think any of them were for a watch. I bilt them for tools. Jewelry boxes. Toy boxes. And even a wine bottle gift box. I wouldn't think for a watch it would be too terribly different or hard. Let me know if I can be of any help please and thank you. I'm working on a great big wall display butterfly right now. Been at it for about three-and-a-half weeks. Hope to have the video finished up in the next week or two. Also did the raffle drawing yesterday. And we'll be putting that out later this week. And thank you again so much from Doug
No my friend I've never done a video on finishing but if it's stuff you're going to put in the shop like workbenches and cabinet doors and so on. What has held up wonderful for me. Is I use a urethane base sanding sealer on the raw wood period sand the wood down after the sanding sealer it will raise the grain. Then use a brush on high gloss polyurethane. The one minwax makes this awesome. If you use a good high quality brush. Put one coat of the urethane weight two days. Lightly sand it with 320. Then put your second coat of urethane period again the high quality brush camel hair is the secret to getting a brush finished to look like it was sprayed. On stuff that's in the shop. I never try and build it up to a glass smooth finish. I don't want it to look like plastic I want the wood grain and textures to show through. The polyurethane that minwax makes for flooring is the most durable one I have ever found. I use it on all the components and the work surfaces in the shop period sorry to be so long-winded my friend but I sure hope that helps .and thank you thank you from Doug
I am watching this as I clean up a horseshoe for the wall above my bedroom door! Which will probably be my second video. I am only on here to document (for myself) how I improve my skillsets! But I just got a table saw and I have a few blades I need a storage solution for. On your big shop video at about 16:39 you showed your saw blade drawer. Can you do a more detailed video on that with what angles the blades are at? That seems to be the most logical solution I have seen!
It's so good to hear from you thank you so much. I certainly certainly will. I actually pride myself on trying to simplify things. and the angle was strictly determined by the length of the board that I needed to put the blade on. How much distance it needed to lay below the bottom of the drawer is what determine the angle. If you have a 12 inch blade. And you cut the quarter inch plywood 14 x 14. And let's say the drawer is 6 in deep. Whatever distance it takes for the board to hit the bottom of the drawer. And come to the top of the drawer. That's your. Hold it up there. Mark the angle with a pencil cut some 1/2 inch strips the same length as the piece of wood. Attach it to the side of the drawer. And then keep going down the drawer stacking more pieces 1/2 inch apart. Presto and you have the angle and the slots done. There's no Angela great measurement needed the deeper the drawer the greater the angle will be. The shallows the drawer. The last thing I angle will be. the simple ways to simply drill at three-quarter inch hole in the center of the plywood where you can stick your finger in it to pull the blade out of the slot. Are you can do like I did and tackle stop board on the very top. Sure hope that helps. And yes I will do it in a video and thank you from Doug
Vid. You're too kind my friend thank you for taking the time to say so thank you thank you. I appreciate that very much have a blessed day and thank you again from Doug
I had to subscribe ❤️ I’m not a woodworker but I love your energy and that twinkle in your eye and very excited to watch your channel grow. Strangely enough considering I’m not in to the woodworking world this is my second woodworking channel I’ve subscribed to, so if you ever get a chance, watch ‘epic upcycle’ channel. He makes beautiful furniture out of pallet wood especially the wardrobe. 😀 keep up the good work and stay safe and most of all have fun, lots of warm wishes from across the pond (Wales, Uk)
Emma it is so good to hear from you. From the bottom of my heart thank you that is so kind of you. I am truly humbled. By your kind words. And I have a lot more coming out. I'm working on a butterfly wall hanging right now that's coming out very nicely. And I will definitely check out epic upcycle. if you ever get the thought to try a little craft work or would work of some kind. And need any help please let me know anytime. And thank you again so much from Doug
I think you would enjoy epic upcycle content, he is very talented like you 😀 I have made doll houses in the past but to be honest I wasn’t very good but I do appreciate the amount of work and creativity it takes to make beautiful artwork that has a daily use and can last a lifetime. You never know if your handwork today would be the next generations vintage treasure 😀
That's so kind of you thank you so much. I will certainly check out his video I'll be free tomorrow and do that. and I bet your bird houses came out okay my first one didn't look so great either but it worked. And thank you again so so much. From Doug
Thank you so much Doug for mentioning me. In our videos on Bauforum24 we use to say "Haben ist besser als brauchen" and you absolutely got the meaning. I should send you a T-Shirt with that Motto as soon as we get them in.
But I also have another one which you seem to live: "Du weisst erst was gut ist, wenn Du weisst was gut ist" which I would translate into "You don't knpw what's good until you know what's good" ;-)
Keep up the good work!
"Its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" atleast thats how I've always heard it. Love your shop and videos!

Thank you for saying that your shop gets dirty and dusty. I thought that I was doing something wrong all of these years. LOL
Thank you also for sharing your passion with us.

You're too kind my friend thank you so much. I appreciate that I truly do. I'll try not to disappoint and thank you so much from Doug
That means a lot to me from Doug
love your shop and your passion for the trade....stand up guy...

And thank you so so very much again from Doug

Missed this video before but great to see it now. Great to hear some of the back stories.
Thankyou for sharing your personal stories with us. Your shop gets messy and full of sawdust! Shocking.
You are infectious! Really enjoying your channel and blown away by your shop.
Rob thank you so much. I'm honored. I'm so happy you enjoying the videos. and I'll have plenty more coming and thank you so much from Doug
Doug your an interesting fellow my friend and your blessed as i am with doing what you love to do rather than doing what you have to do- when your lucky enough to have that, its not work.
I'll figure out something to send you to display in your shop, talk soon stay safe.

Awesome videos !!! Congratulations

From Doug
You’re a great inspiration to me!! Thank you s much! Lafayette, La
Fleets Wood Shop Also, got some great wood from all the trees blown down! Lol just need to figure out how to cut it all
Andrew awesome that is great to know my friend I'm glad y'all are okay and came out so well. We go down to L'Auberge in lake Charles now and then and I've been going for many years and have made a lot of friends there. Hate to say it but a couple of the bartenders. And my host and some very very nice folks work in the office and they all got hurt pretty bad. Thank God y'all did great I'm so glad to hear that
there ought to be plenty of those guys with the portable sawmills running around they always seem to be around when the hurricanes come down
Awesome! Thank you for sharing. Stay healthy and enjoy what you do.
Thank you so very much. I sincerely appreciate you and always good to hear from you. Thank you thank you from Doug
Fleets Wood Shop Haven’t seen it yet but, should be here soon; thanks!!
Yes John if you don't get it pretty soon please let me know thank you again
Fleets Wood Shop Nothing yet, I will keep watching for it!

Adrian well hello to you again my friend I hope you're doing well and staying safe. And thank you so very much I'm glad you like the video. From Doug
Another great video. Nice to be able to laugh along with you. :-) keep the videos coming!
Thank you Jim thank you so much. You got me smiling my friend. I certainly will keep them coming and thank you very much from Doug
Thanks for the update video. That is a big heavy out-feed top if its really 4 sheets of 3/4" MDF and 2 sheets of baltic birch
Matt thank you so much for watching. And yes sure it's very heavy it doesn't move at all. Not to mention the cabinet also. And thank you so much from Doug
Well I watched your inlay video now I’m obsessed with inlays at the moment lol
From Doug
great video.

You are my idol! Love and respect brother!
Brian that's awesome thank you bro. Love and respect to you too my friend and thank you thank you from Doug
Hey Doug! I really enjoyed every single minute of this video!!

Wow beautiful level
John thank you so much. I sincerely appreciate that. From Doug
I have a very similar saying that comes out a little easier. "I'd rather be looking at it then looking for it."
Chau I love it that's so nice of you to tell. That's another sign I'll have to put up on my wall now. thank you thank you so much and thank you for watching and taking the time to compliment I truly appreciate that. From Doug
Amazing, form Barcelona (Spain for now)
Good to hear from you Jeu .
@@fleetswoodshop3339
2 corded grinders which I don’t use much because I don’t have power in my garage, and 4 cordless.
My favorite woodshop sign: "Dang! I've cut it twice and it's STILL too short!"
Grower I love it thank you my friend I'll get right on it. You're awesome thank you thank you from Doug
Fleets Wood Shop wow you replied how very kind of you to reply makes me feel important
Danny I'm sorry to hear about the damage. But I think you'll get some good tips from him and thank you. Sure hope you enjoyed the video from Doug
@@fleetswoodshop3339 I've enjoyed every video of yours that I have watched!!! Thanks for sharing and entertaining us!!!
Danny thank you you are so very welcome 😃😃
Yes missed you ...
Thanks
That's so kind of you you've got me smiling. And thank you so so much from Doug
👍👍👍👍👍best wishes from Austria 😎
Big greetings from Houston to you too my friend and thank you. So much. From Doug
Video request: how do you use your triple router table. Especially the one in the middle, I wonder how you access it with the 2 other ones in the way.
From Doug
Glad to see the new releases out Doug. Keep up the good work. Have you ever built a custom wrist watch display box by chance?
Do you have a video on wood finishing? Techniques, products, etc. Looking for best durability and quality finishing options for my shop.
@@fleetswoodshop3339 perfect! Thanks for the reply! Your stuff is amazing and I have shared with all my buddies in the last few days.
Thank you so much my friend that's so kind of you thank you very very much. From Doug
And yes I will do it in a video and thank you from Doug
i like your shop

From Doug
And I hope some of them do turn into vintage pieces that do last a lifetime
Interesting :)
Robert thank you thank you . I appreciate you watching I even more so appreciate you taking the time to say so. From Doug
