Got a new carb and put it on and it started leaking right away. This saved my bacon thank you!
Me too
I had this issue today, March 2023 , found this video on RUclips and it worked like a charm! You saved my weekend ride! Thank you!
I was too lazy to take out my air compressor so I just used a bike pump thinking that it would be less pressure (less chance of damage) but still enough forceful air to push things through and it worked like a charm. This is genius. Thanks for sharing! I wasn't looking forward to taking out the carb.
Worked perfectly, many thanks. I'd just changed a piston and the carb started overflowing; gave this a go and it solved it straight away.
Thank you. Never heard of this. Tried and was 100 percent successful. Just saved me money and riding time.
I didn’t even think this was going to work and it fixed my problem instantly. Thank you bro
You’re the man! I just got out to the farm to rip and carb was flooded. Thankfully I have an air compressor on my truck. Fired up first kick!! Thank you so much!
Should have thought of that. I have beat slightly too as well. But my main fix was just twist the carb towards me and loosen half way the screws and the float would usually drop. Awesome tip jay really learn a lot on here.
Such a simple trick... had to cycle mine 3 time to get it cleared out, flush/fill, flush/fill, flush/fill and boom... after the 3rd time, no more overflow. My bike has had a slow drip for a year and the constant drip finally rotted the seal on my starter motor... so I replaced the starter today and was about to replace the carburetor out of frustration (easier and almost as cheap as a rebuild). But thanks to this video, there is no need. Not only did it stop the overflow leak, but the throttle is more responsive than it was. Thank you again.... this video has been up for 4 years (at time of my post)... wonder how many folks you have saved. Great video!
Thank you I was having lawn mower carb problem and your video fixed it. Very rare a quick fix video works out
This technique saved me from having to pull the carb. I also sprayed loads of carb cleaner in there, alternating carb cleaner and blasts from the compressor. Worked like a charm.
Glad it helped
Genius
Was your bike sputtering
I cleaend my carb 2twice runs good for 20mins then it gets dirt in it again i wonder if this will help
You probably need to add an inline filter to prevent dirt build up and or clean the gas tank
Genius!! Just did this on my 17 KTM 250 sx because it was leaking fuel because of the float. Used a bicycle pump fitting air mattress air mattress attachment to it. That fit into my line...it blew it all out. Fixed the leak!!!
Thanks dude!!
🤙🏻
Wow! I was dreading pulling the whole bike apart to get to the carb. Thanks a ton, this saved me a lot of time and headache.
You can just twist the carb around
Just tried this on my 03 525 exc… worked great!! Just finished completely restoring from the frame up. Was frustrated bout having to pull the carb off to rebuild again. Thank you for being a genius and sharing your knowledge.
So glad it worked great!
BEST video I've seen in a long time ... clear and directly to the point ... thank you very much you're awesome !!!!

Thanks Jay! 👊 I've been racing/riding for 10 years and learn something new every day.
Great to hear!
Just trailered my bike, '95 KTM 620 Duke, across the country and of course I went to start it and fuel's leaking everywhere! I did tap on the bowl old school but found this video, shot a bit of air through the carb and like magic it quit leaking and I'm off for the day to go riding! Great advice my friend!! 👍🇺🇲
That is great--
You saved my day...and me and my Hondas relationship ! Thanks man
Worked like a champ! Saved me tons of time!. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you dude. You saved me a lot of time. Awesome.!! Wish good times for you
Petrol leaking out of overflow form chamber / float bowl at bottom of carb on rfz70 cc kids quad. Took petrol pipe of petrol tap on the carb side, used a small air compressor to blow up into the pipe. Petrol blows out of the carb top and bottom. Put petrol pipe back on petrol tap. Moved the quad away from spilt petrol, then churned the starter a good few turns, it fired up on tick over. Let it run, lifted back wheels off the ground to give it a few revs. Set it down, let it tick over then switched it off. Waited looking at the overflow pipe, nothing, no leaking petrol. 👍 Happy days. Thanks for this fix. 😊
Took the old xt225 out for a short ride parked it, and came back to a puddle of gas. Your advice worked like a charm!! THANKS!

Good job jay .
I do that almost everyday on someone’s bike .
Works about 75% of the time .

Cool easy fix!
What a genius!

Thank you so much man! It worked !
Slick... I usually tap mine with a wrench from the pack when it happens. The area we ride has a compressed air set up. I will have to try that!
Awesome trick thanks!!
Amazing ima have to try this!!
Great tip! Clean Bike
This saved me a carb rebuild
Thanks your video save me to rebuild the carburetor
It frikin worked! Thank you
Glad it helped
Great video, Btw i used a bikecycle pump and it worked great. Just in case if you dont have a air compressor.
Awesome!!! It got it fixed! But I used carb cleaner instead air! I don't have air pressure like yours
Works perfect!!
Thanks for the help it 100% works but if I don't you need a new carburetor
Yes it works thanks
I can't believe that this worked!!! New 150cc scooter suddenly ran rough, stalled, couldn't restart, gas dripping from carb. I was all ready to take out the carb etc. then I tried this. Drained the carburetor so that the float valve would open, then blew air into the gas line while leaving the carb drain open. It started on the next try, I repeated the carb drain and actually saw some small black particles in the gas.I got it all back together, went for a ride, no hesitation, no stalls, easy to start, I am amazed.
So glad it worked!!
Thank you so much 😊😊 its works
New to carb maintenance and used the advice here. How does one buy you a cup of coffee or a beer? Thanks for the quick and great advice!
Cheers - it worked for me
IT works! Awesome👍
Thank you, this worked for me.
Glad it helped
Just worked like a charm - gracias :-)
Glad it worked!
Thank you for the trick
69% of the time works every time
Classic Ronie Mac!
Yeah I’ve fixed 6 or 9 bikes like that
He said most of the time.
“That doesn’t make sense.” 😂
How does it work every time when it's 69% of the time🤣🤣
Great info thanks 👍
Thanks Jay. I tried this and it worked. I didn't have my compressor nearby so I just blew it out by mouth. I want to add though that I noticed I slit in the hose that connects the fuel tank to the carb. I cut off the bad area, I assume this would be something to look out for too.
Nice work!
So you blew into the fuel line that goes into the carb?
Wow,, just installed a new pumper carb on my xr400r and fuel just pours out the overflow like crazy.. Can't wait to see if this fixes this issue!!
Thanks, I'll give that a go!
Wish I knew this last weekend, gonna try this on bike tomorrow. Sons 65 would not start, same symptoms
Dude thank you
Yes less pressure is better. I hit it with a couple quick squirts with a 20 lb air tank and the air leak out through the gasket at the bowl not good. Although this is a great tip thanks for the info.....
Thanks for the tip lifesaver
Thanks Mr. Kmart Trail Master
fixed in 5 min. thanks!
Excellent!
I found my overflow hose was leaking fuel this morning. It has done it here and there. I'm not sure which hose on my 2004 Suzuki GS500F to blow out. This would be awesome to do. Years ago I had the jets redone and the carbs worked on. At that time I was shooting flames out the muffler and it was backfiring and would only work on full choke. It got re-jetted and worked like new after that. Now recently the issue I have is to get it to start I have to add a touch of throttle and get it up to 2500-3000 rpm for a few seconds and then it will idle perfectly. It could definitely be related. Also around my headers I have a little oil leakage and it looks sooty. This was a neat video. Thanks and God bless 🙏
