I’m primarily a hard rock/heavy metal listener but have also been a Gorka fan since his debut. I’ve seen him live over a dozen times and brought family along (to their great enjoyment). I also enjoy listening to Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell and a few other folk artists but no singer-songwriter has touched me the way John has.
Some great songs including "I Saw a Stranger." John's voice combined with his "accompaniment," as he once described his beautiful guitar playing, makes his songs memorable. .
So good to hear from you, John! I really look forward to what you share here and miss you when you are "away." Thanks to Scott Knowles for the lovely tribute/interview/concert. Never enough John Gorka. Please don't stay away so long! Big thanks to your wife for taking such good care of you during the time at home! Love and blessings...and gratitude for your songs. Nancy
What a wonderful surprise to see this national treasure. So beautiful that your first song would a Nancy Griffith song. What an incredible loss. I hope to see you again one day live. I’m from New Jersey, too.
Longtime Gorka fan, and I really loved the conversation here. Thanks for this. Wow. John's son in graduate school. The one who looked like Charles Bronson when he cried? My how time does fly!
Saw you at the State Theater in State College PA just a few weeks ago with the On A Winter's Night tour - it was fantastic! Such a joy to hear you sing live John.
Thanks so much, always good to hear your sincere and melody tones and words. Life was tough before Covid... so it was always water off a ducks back. (When the going gets tough... the tough get going)
thx John! You were radiant and beautiful here . Glad to see it and hope to see you out and about at a show soon! (would you consider "follow" popularized by Jerry Jeff Walker as a cover to try some day?)

One of my favorite songs, I love John Gorka.

I bought Nancy Griffith's music at a small music store in Ely, MN. Loved her Other Voices, Other Rooms album.

As Bruce Springsteen spoke to my youth, John Gorka speaks to the experiences and challenges of my middle age.
“Clerks III”! Woo Hoo!!!

Great to see that John is still on his game - and touring again I see below? Well maybe the world will keep turning after all!
I'm from Ohio. Perhaps I need to write a song?
