I did the engineering validation work (testing) on the joystick grips for that machine! CNH plant in Wichita is great - they do a lot of metal fabrication in house that other companies (CAT) subcontract. Good engineers to work with at that plant.
I have one and it is an absolute monster. I love that it has the weight of a small dozer, but the abilities of a skid steer. I dug a 1/2 acre pond with it and even the owner was impressed that it was the only piece of equipment I used.
Wow! That's impressive! I'm looking forward to the opportunity to get one of these on a jobsite to see how well it does in real world conditions. Thanks for the comment!
I’d love to see a video of your 620B in action! 👍
Can we do direct messages on here? I can send videos
@@davidrivera4381 I am about to purchase one tomorrow. I have been waiting a while for it to come in. Do you find that it quiets down a bit after break in. It was noisy as all hell during todays test ride. I think some noise suppressing matting under the cab is a must 😬
@@jtizzle86 i noticed the noise as well
Bryan when I was in job corps I was trained on a caterpillar skid steer bro I tell you skid steers are a lot of fun to operate
They are! You can make a big mess in a hurry!
Fun review and interesting insights! I'm curious about these big CTLs and if they'd be able to do the same thing as a small dozer. I'm getting started in small scale land clearing and thinking that might be the ticket to get going and to complement my excavator.
I'm hoping I get a chance to take this machine out and do a full review at some point. If you are looking for a skid/dozer combo you'll need to wait till the fall when the DL550 drops. That has an actual C-frame dozer attachment that will change the way skid steers grade.
I've had mine just about a year now. Very impressive. It is a little loud, but when you're cramming that kind of power into a skid steer it is expected.
I've heard of a couple of contractors having some issues with this machine. Any thoughts on long term reliability?
@@DieselandIron Case says they had this machine on their proving grounds for 3 years before they put it into production. I have not had any issues at all. I guess you never know what to expect, John Deere, Caterpillar, and the rest have had their share of issues, so I wouldn't be afraid of it long term
Good lord, I thought the Menotaur was big. I didn't know they made CTLs this big. Makes my SV250 look like a roller skate.
Looks like a beast
It was!
After all the dirt I had to bucket around last year I kind of wish I had one of these at my disposal
It was a fast machine and it hauled a lot of dirt.
How are the blind spots?? Any cameras for reverse operation? Great review. Thx
Blind spots weren't too bad. It does have a reverse camera so I felt pretty confident I could see everything around me while operating. I had Issac out filming for me and I wasn't worried about running him over😂
If you spray some greaseless lube in the controls it helps a lot.
Thanks for sharing the tip Dante!
I own a 420ct and 440ct and both machine are awesome case is the best
They put out some good equipment!
It is a best. The only thing I don't like is the cabin noise. I traded in a John Deere 333G which was much quieter.
They are loud machines. The DL550 was the same way
Been waiting for a review on that machine to see how it would kinda compare to a TL12v2. Would be interesting to see them side by side. But over all pretty sure the Takeuchi seems to be built heavier as in the loader assembly. There is little to no flex in them which I think is better, all that flex in the case is very worrisome. Pretty sure I’m going to stick with my TL12v2, been extremely happy with it.
The only issues with the Tak's are the emissions problems they are having. Now, it has been a few years since I've been in the loop with that so they might have got them sorted out by now.
This is an awesome machine but, what I'm really looking out for is the DL550.
@@DieselandIron they still have a bunch of emissions issues. We have 2 TL12R2’s and they are constantly in the shop with error codes or sensors failing and shutting down the machine. Biggest drawback is the Kubota engines and their emissions issues. Their is talk of them trying to get back to using Yanmar to hopefully fix the emissions issues.
@@TermiteBenny those kubotas are the best you delete them and they are better then in a Yanmar all day in my opinion. I loved my Takeuchi and Kubota machines. The def is the only draw back. But easily fixable.
@@TermiteBenny Case and Cat alway blew to many hydraulic lines when I ran them. Case uses to many hard lines. And a Mechanic messed around with a Cat engineers wife
So your saying it may be a little overkill for loading hay?
Yes, but only by a small margin. If you are trying to sell it to the wife as a "need" then I think you could absolutely pull it off...
@@DieselandIron I'm 35, 4 kids with 1 on the way, run a small operation of registered boer goats....totally financially justified. I just may have to pick up 4 at a time to justify the capacity and take on side jobs with a DL550 building farm terraces without a dozer since your coined them a dozesteer
@@brandonm6052 now you're talking... 😉
😲😲
Jesus man. Turn the sensitivity down a little. That thing is a beast.
She was fast!
Unfortunately after 30 years Case still hasn’t figured out cab space. Enough with the narrow cabs for crying out loud
Case have huge cabs? They just have a shitty door.
@@dantekeskin1512compared to a Takeuchi or Kubota they are tiny my guy.
@@Theonetwo48 I can’t fit in a Kubota so that’s not a option lol too tall
I've never had a real issue with the width. My issue has always been the door design as Dante stated. I don't think you've got much more width in the other machines, it's more vertical space so it feels bigger. I could be wrong but the machines are pretty similar in width.
The main issue I see with this machine is the swing out door. It makes zero sense to me why a manufacturer would insist on something like that. No swing out door for me.
The majority of manufacturers have a swing outdoor. As far as I know Kubota and takeuchi are the only manufacturers without the swing out door
@@DieselandIron , I understand that to be a fact too. But it certainly doesn't make it right. A manufacturer has no right or reason to eliminate someone's choices on operating decisions. Some people like a closed door, some don't. I'm one that likes to have a clear field of vision with nothing blocking it. I don't tell others how to operate their machines,so I don't want anyone telling me how to Operate a machine. In essence, that's just what Case and other manufacturers are doing, either by choice or ignorance, I don't know how they arrived at their conclusions but I don't like it. If I really liked their machine and I decided to buy or operate one, the front door would come off pronto. Thank you very much for your review of this machine and all the others that you have made for us. I hope you have a great day.
Noisy with a lot of vibration. Traded it in for a Cat. Sad... They used to be a great machine.
I'm not sure why Case doesn't place more focus on cab noise. It's that way on several of their machine lines.
@@DieselandIron isn't the tv450b a lot quieter than that big 620?
I’m looking at a 620b. Have a 450b. Is the 450 quitter?
