    This past season has been my first on tubeless and I love it. I tend to check on my tubeless tires every 2-3 days between rides to keep them inflated and not let them go flat. I also rotate tires 180deg when the bike's been sitting for a few days so the sealant doesn't pool at the bottom. You can expect the rear tire will see more small punctures so after a while it will gradually lose more air and need more sealant sooner. You will need to add more sealant to each tire after a few rides. Halfway thru season I remove tires and wash out all the old sealant, rotate front to rear and vice versa and add new sealant. Don't get tubeless setup if you are not willing to do the due diligence. You can't set it up and leave it like tubes.

    I've been running tubeless since 2015 on my road bike (Giant Defy disc with Ritchey wheels), it has been faultless. A few times I have got home and noticed sealant on the outside of a tyre, another ride unspoiled 👌. I haven't had to address the issue right up to the day the tyre is worn out. Works for me 😁

    Once again, another top vid. Sometimes if you having trouble getting it seated use a little washing liquid and water. Tyre inserts are another great invention, but thats for another vid.
    Good job Dave

    Tubeless on MTB or high volume tires. It's a downright mess with narrow width tires. I switched my road bike to latex tubes instead.

    Good video. New to tubeless last year, no flats yet (knock wood), but curious what you do when you have to put a tube in. How do yo get the valve stem out of the way to allow room for the tube’s valve stem? I haven’t seen anyone cover this-it always seems to be a scenario that is just skipped over.

      Remove the tubeless valve stem (that is why first tip was to not over tighten valve stem)

    I noticed no glue was used with the tire plugs. Is this correct? Glue is supplied with plug kits for car/ motorcycle plug kits.

    No tools to get tire on rim? Sure if you have big floppy Mt bike tires. If you are on a road bike with lots of tire-wheel variations (tubless standards are not yet fully in place) expect to use everything you’ve got to get tires onto the rim.

    @cyclingTips... #1 tip for installing tubeless tires, ditch the floor pump and use an air compressor or powerful tire inflator.

      You’re confusing tubeless with tubs. I’ve ridden 50,000km on tubeless without the need for support.

    • @coldforgedcowboy
      @coldforgedcowboy Год назад +1

      That is the whole point of going tubeless, small cuts and puntures will self seal so you can keep on riding without have to stop to replace the tube.

      You can still use a tube to get home.

    #1 tubeless tip: Don't be a dumdum. Spend the minimum amount of effort to Google what works and what doesn't.
    Road tubeless has saved my ass countless on drop-rides and in races, usually without me even realizing there was a puncture.

      In 30000Km in road tubeless I only needed to stop once due a flat. I just rotate a bit more, inflate again and continue. No need even for a plug. I'm not looking back to tubes ever.
