Can we STOP putting bottle openers into EDC/Survival gear. How about a can opener? I can open a bottle with Anything rigid, and likely not surviving in the wilderness with craft beers.
The basic necessity of water will be the lifesaver in any situation. LifeStraws and the Sawyer brand are the best for personal water filters. Remember to get one for each person in your group. Each filter will make clear and clean water at 500 gallons plus per straw. Fire should be your next worry. Having several types of survival fire starters is a no-brainer. Survival blankets, sleeping bags, and shelter made of Mylar take very little space, especially if you seal them in a vacuum sealer. Having shelter from the elements could be critical in a survival situation. Mylar is the way to go. Having food in your bugout bag could be a life saver. Just have a few nutritional bars, mixed nuts, and a source of protein, like beef jerky. Remember, you can live weeks without food. But you can't live three days without water

Well thats a lie. the blanket is flimsy, rips easy, and provides no insulation. add to that, if you are already wet and bordering on hypothermia the blanket will do nothing, you need an external heat source. heat reflection only works in warmer temperatures or in conjunction with shelter and heat.
This is why I love RUclips. I watch a survival gadget video and then I get a recommendation of this video where I find another survival gadget which is a must - the Zoleo Satellite communicator.

Probably too dangerous to use for tinder, especially when so many wax products are available that are safe to use. P.S. Lip balm in those tiny tubes are wax based and make leaves, grass, tree bark, etc. very flammable. East to carry and probably you should have one in your pocket anyway.
Anyone ever try and repack/refold one of those Emergency Blankets? ~ Near _impossible_ to make it as neat and compact as it was when you initially took it out of the packaging!
Don’t buy them! Ever traveled, camped, taken a road trip? While some of these are “cute” and barely functional, some might save your bum. We got stuck between two passes during a snow storm in a small town, everything was full (no rooms), closed, or snowed in. Slept in the car, peed in the snow, and only had what we bought from the vending machines on the first day. It was freezing and we had only our clothes, which we wore multiple everything. So before you say “Crap!” Ask if ever you might need these things, because I assure you… if you do need them, you will curse yourself for not at least being a little prepared.
