    A Professional Operator at Work.
Denning & Austral In Australia Used The Same Transmission In Their Landseer & Tourmaster Coaches Respectively.
With The Same Shift Pattern. 4th & 5th Next To Each Other Instead Of Opposite Each Other In A Straight H Pattern.
My Allocated Coach Here In Sydney Was A Tourmaster 6spd With 6V92tta.
Had The Same Shift Pattern As This Prevost.
Prevost's Transmission & Linkages Much Tighter Than Austral's.
More Like That Of MCI Was Prevost's.
Fun To Drive & Kept You On Your Toes.
    Cheers

Great video. I've only driven manuals on MCI. I have 2 questions. First, is the clutch on the Prevost as heavy as it is on the MCIs? Second, the shifting from 3rd to 4th seems different. What type of shifting is this?

The Prevost clutches are smoother tan MCI because they are oil/air assisted, on 1991 and up. And it's a Spicer 6 speed transmission and the 4th is beside the 3rd. There's the R-1-3-4 at the top, neutral in the middle and LO-2-5 at the bottom.

@@busman1984 No wonder the configuration is different. MCI used Eaton-Fuller trannies from around 1982 on. And their 5 and 7 speed offerings are conventional "double" or "triple"-H patterns.

My previous post said 3rd to 4th gear, but I think this a 5 speed so what is the pattern from 4th to 5th?

    • @busman1984

It's a 5 speed with a LO. I don't shift to 5th gear in this video. The "special" shift pattern is really 3rd to 4th, where te 4th is beside the 3rd. When you're in 3rd at the top of the stick, you shift to neutral then you push to extreme right and go to the top again to shift in 4th. You can see a bit of the shift pattern on the stick on that video, that I recorded when it was still allowed to hold a camera while driving, lol! ruclips.net/video/hwwhprg7rsc/видео.html

@@busman1984 thanks! Is this the standard shift pattern for Prevost manuals?

    • @busman1984

@@mrAhollandjr For the 5 speed yes. Some of them have 6 speed plus a LO but they are more often on H3 with Serie 60 engine.

@@busman1984 thanks. I've only driven MCI sticks. My Eagle and Prevost buses were all automatic. I do live Prevost buses.more than anything else.

@@busman1984 Greyhound Canada's last sticks were I believe 994-997 which were 1995 H3-45s with that powertrain combo.

Is the motor in this a DD 8V92?

I'm going to say yes. My "audible memories" are a bit dusty, but the pitch sounds right for the 8V92 series. IMHO, the 8V92 has a deeper and "quieter roar" as opposed to the 6V92 which is a bit higher-pitched.
