I listen to buddhist sermons often...and always think hw my life is hard...i hve to think abt stdying...then for a better future......when i knw that these things are useless...for a person who is gonna die oneday.....and we hve to be born again and again....for its difficult decision ......to be ordained...i dnt knw whether to stay n fulfil my parents dreams or....jst leave them all
we are serching, earning, acheaving in our life everyday. but still nothing fullfill. no happines anywhare in the world forever except giving up.so why we still search ? when is it gona end ? There's no bhikkuni shasana in this world now, if someone claims to be a bhikkuni with or without knowledge that person will be destined to be born in niraya worlds. All these followers and monks are following a distorted interpretation of buddha dhamma. It's their own negligence not being able to find out the real dhamma which still remains unchanged for more than 2600 years. Due to the akusala kamma they do in this life with unawareness they will be born in niraya worlds and when they become human again they will be born far away from dhamma even if they be born as human beings during a buddhist era.
It's a dream to buy a super luxury car and having few later you don't have the same carving for it anymore...everything is for only a limited time that you enjoy, then what ??, but the truth is that where were you before and where will you go next???, you will leave everything behind and no one can forgive you for your bad deeds, that we understand...Karma...you reap what you sow...confusing....in my opinion Buddha's answer to life is perfect and practice comes with giving up everything.....those realised it early are winners....absolute winners....sadu sadu sadu....

Regarding rituals such as worshiping statues, offering flowers and incense - all these have reflective meaning in Buddhism, and it is best not to label them as nonsense. For example, prostrating and bowing is done to show gratitude to the Buddha and other teachers. Lighting incense remind people of the pervading influence of virtue, lighting lamps symbolize light of knowledge, and leaving flowers (that would soon fade and die) helps one to contemplate the universal law of impermanence. We also need to remember that in modern society, various rituals (i.e., established, ceremonial acts or features) are often carried out for example at birthday parties, weddings, graduation ceremonies, funerals, etc., (that help create community and mutual support). Even shaking hands and saluting are rituals. Additionally, Buddhist rituals such as bowing can also be powerful in strengthening a person’s humility and the ability to let go of self-centeredness. Of course attempting to understand the deep teachings of the Buddha is much more important, but doing rituals does not have to be considered as something wrong that somehow need to be avoided at all costs.
They didn't say what were you trying to explain. They said there is something beyond than that. I am sorry if i hurt your feelings but i went there. Before criticize its better to listen all Dhamma deshana by yourself and see how you understand. If you can understand then you can go with that if not find somewhere else. I listened first, then i went there. You don't need to believe me either. Just find out by yourself. This is the journey you have to go by yourself but you really really need help, and guidance. Also, you need to see the qualities Lord Buddha said in yourself, progress in yourself at home, work, outside.

Julie, for your information. These monks have been banned from public talks and teaching anywhere across Sri Lanka due to misleading and misinterpreting it's true meanings of great Buddha's teachings original teachings. These are fake monks, not real. Be careful.
Sad to say this is far from what Buddha taught, in Buddha Dharma there are no sects as such, unfortunately around 2400 years ago, 'Buddha's Sangha' (the monks) who were suppose to have preserved pure Dharma in India, we call it the 'Buddha's Saasana' (these are the monks who were suppose to preach Dharma the way Buddha has taught without diluting ) couldn’t agree on certain areas of the teachings of Buddha, about 150 years after Buddha's death the saasana ended up breaking away into many sects, the Sri Lankans ended up accepting the 'Teravaada Buddhist sect' and later included forest monk tradition. A forest monk is suppose to leave everything behind ' detach from every material form' and suppose to live with three robes, the bowl that is used to eat the food, and few other necessities permitted to keep such as needle and thread, a little salt etc according to the Buddha's disciplinary code (there are 227 rules which a Sangha must abide by when they are being ordained - unfortunately this does not happen now in Sri Lanka) and then they must try to detach themselves from 'I' or 'me' (freeing yourself from your mind ) by practising meditation methods taught by Buddha. - step to eight fold path begins after that The video here is misguiding people especially the once who does not know the Buddha's teaching, that includes these monks who are in this so call forest monastery. The head monk of this place knowledge in Dharma is very limited and he further dilutes the Dharma when he is preaching and they are not really living in a forest monastery, the hall that he gives his Dharma speech inside the land that they live in is completed with 65inch TV monitors, video and Audio the full works and about 1000 people can easily sit inside (Forest?). Usually Forest Monks rarely been visited by lay people, as they are not to be disturbed. There are lots of places like this in Sri Lanka, some to become popular, some makes large sums of money, some gets foreign donations, some are being funded/ sponsored by NGO’s who are against of Buddha Dharma so that the preacher/ the monk can dilute Dharma and give wrong meanings to the listener. What you have to remember is if anyone is trying to promote himself, their centre or monastery or the temple, using media, keep away from those places. Proper Buddha’s teachers do not try to promote themselves or the place where they stay; they will only teach and guide the person who wants to practise Dharma without diluting the pure Dharma. Only few understands and can explain the meanings of the teachings of Buddha. It’s very rare to find such monks now days in Sri Lanka, there are only a hand full still living. Watch You tube ‘Ajahn Nyanamoli’ his Dharma speeches given in English, you will get an idea about what I am saying. This does not mean you need to live in a forest to practise Buddha’s teachings, or even to practise meditation you need to live in a forest, but in order for you to practise meditation you will need a teacher who can guide you according to the ‘Teravaada ‘ tradition. This ‘Jethavana monastery or the so call forest monks do not know meditation methods, neither has he ever been learnt meditation practise from a proper teacher. I once visited this place, a friend of mine took me there, I was not impressed at all and I was very sad to have seen so many Sri Lankan lay people visiting just to listen to the head monks Dharma talk, it gave me an eye opener about the knowledge of Dharma the lay Sri Lankan’s are having especially when I noticed the Dharma he spoke of Buddha was diluted. Look at the heading of this video, it says ‘REAL PHILOSOPHY’ Buddha’s Dharma the teachings is not a Philosophy. ‘The word philosophy is an opinion ‘ Buddha’s teaching is not his opinion, and these people do not even understand that. There are many ‘scientists / physicist’ now trying to learn Dharma to understand how things work in the universe/multiverse. An investment banker needs a better teacher to understand what Dharma is about before he makes such videos to misguide the innocent.

If you do not encounter outside world how would you come to realisation with inner world? Staying away from society could put you in a state of peacefulness but you still need to eat, shower keep self hygiene if not it too goes against Buddha teachings. Enlightenment is coming to unfolding your greed , it could happen only in exchange with emotions , in my opinion meditation n monkhood can put you in a path of discipline but it wont assure you enlisted.

The head monk of this place knowledge in Dharma is very limited and he further dilutes the Dharma when he is preaching and they are not really living in a forest monastery, the hall that he gives his Dharma speech inside the land that they live in is completed with 65inch TV monitors, video and Audio the full works and about 1000 people can easily sit inside (Forest?).
Usually Forest Monks rarely been visited by lay people, as they are not to be disturbed.
There are lots of places like this in Sri Lanka, some to become popular, some makes large sums of money, some gets foreign donations, some are being funded/ sponsored by NGO’s who are against of Buddha Dharma so that the preacher/ the monk can dilute Dharma and give wrong meanings to the listener.
What you have to remember is if anyone is trying to promote himself, their centre or monastery or the temple, using media, keep away from those places. Proper Buddha’s teachers do not try to promote themselves or the place where they stay; they will only teach and guide the person who wants to practise Dharma without diluting the pure Dharma. Only few understands and can explain the meanings of the teachings of Buddha. It’s very rare to find such monks now days in Sri Lanka, there are only a hand full still living.
Watch You tube ‘Ajahn Nyanamoli’ his Dharma speeches given in English, you will get an idea about what I am saying. This does not mean you need to live in a forest to practise Buddha’s teachings, or even to practise meditation you need to live in a forest, but in order for you to practise meditation you will need a teacher who can guide you according to the ‘Teravaada ‘ tradition. This ‘Jethavana monastery or the so call forest monks do not know meditation methods, neither has he ever been learnt meditation practise from a proper teacher.
I once visited this place, a friend of mine took me there, I was not impressed at all and I was very sad to have seen so many Sri Lankan lay people visiting just to listen to the head monks Dharma talk, it gave me an eye opener about the knowledge of Dharma the lay Sri Lankan’s are having especially when I noticed the Dharma he spoke of Buddha was diluted. Look at the heading of this video, it says ‘REAL PHILOSOPHY’ Buddha’s Dharma the teachings is not a Philosophy. ‘The word philosophy is an opinion ‘ Buddha’s teaching is not his opinion, and these people do not even understand that. There are many ‘scientists / physicist’ now trying to learn Dharma to understand how things work in the universe/multiverse. An investment banker needs a better teacher to understand what Dharma is about before he makes such videos to misguide the innocent.

All these followers and monks are following a distorted interpretation of buddha dhamma. It's their own negligence not being able to find out the real dhamma which still remains unchanged for more than 2600 years. Due to the akusala kamma they do in this life with unawareness they will be born in niraya worlds and when they become human again they will be born far away from dhamma even if they be born as human beings during a buddhist era.

If you do not encounter outside world how would you come to realisation with inner world? Staying away from society could put you in a state of peacefulness but you still need to eat, shower keep self hygiene if not it too goes against Buddha teachings. Enlightenment is coming to unfolding your greed , it could happen only in exchange with emotions , in my opinion meditation n monkhood can put you in a path of discipline but it wont assure you enlisted.
