    once you have tuned the high string on a banjo, you have known true fear...

      I got a banjo today. That was quite the tuning experience

      Even as a previous guitarist tuning that 5th string is scary

      I only tend to break the D string tuning to E, hit my friend at boy scouts once lol

    This is the first song i've really tried to learn on banjo. I'm just starting out (though i used to play guitar a bot so it helps a little bit. For the 5th string capo I just wedged a guitar pick in there and i don't seem to bump into it surprisingly so far.

    I know that this is an old time clasic, but my favorite version is the one by Among the Oak and Ash. Now that I think of it, many of their songs would sound great on bajo! (Devil Ship, for example). Great video, great informations, thanks!

    Can you buy this lesson without taking out a subscription?

    • @BanjoBen
      @BanjoBen  9 лет назад +3

      Howdy! You can purchase the tabs and the rhythm mp3's, but you have to be a member to stream the videos. Also, if you do become a member, you can then download all the tabs/mp3's for no additional charge. I'd be honored to have you on board!

    This is gonna be a huge noob question but is the tuning standard open G? And is d minor just the main chord or the tuning for the song?

    • @BanjoBen
      @BanjoBen  3 года назад

      I explain it all starting at 2:10.

    Im really fuzzy on how exactly you do a slide.. How much pressure is put on the string? And how do you stop that buzzy sound on the fat string?

    • @BanjoBen
      @BanjoBen  4 года назад +1

      Enough pressure to get rid of the buzz, assuming your banjo is set up correctly. Check this out! banjobenclark.com/courses/banjo-fret-hand-techniques
