“You want one?” When you’re offering flu shots more readily than gum 😂
My answer is always "Hell Yeah! Third one this week! Hit me up!" 🤣
Good. Health > gum
I hate when youre getting vaccinated and the teacher is like you got enough to share with the class😮
My gp literally did the same thing to me. My mum went to get her flu shot and I was There with her and they just asked me if I wanted one

Sir, you came here to get stitches for your avocado cut.
Mystery fluid being injected in you, and closing a woud are completely different

@harrysongousse2198 yup. If you get an injection you get stabbed with a needle once, and if you get stitches you might get stabbed several times.

@Meiaiscool that has nothing to do with it, and an epidurmic needle that injects a fluid nobody knows anything about directly into you, and a needle that just goes in your meat to pull your meat together aren't the same, it's not that they're afraid of needles, they don't want to be a lab rat 😂
I got my flu shot at my desk as I was registering a patient. They looked at me like I was crazy. To be honest, I was kind of surprised too. I’m still new to working at a hospital, so I thought I’d have to go to the nurse giving out the shots, but they told me they’d just come to me instead so I wouldn’t have to disrupt my work lol
My hospital makes us go down to Employee Health where we have to fill out paperwork and then they can give us our shot. Be nice if they delivered! LOL!
Wow that's so weird. I mean it makes sense, I just didn't know it worked like that
i got called to office where they take photo for id card and give vaccines and show you videos and give you info like logging password and such.
still its child ward for like hepatitis vaccine and flu shots and where they take your blood sample if you got accidental injected instead of patient or you got it after the patient had been jab.
@@laggybum3218mine too but i work in IT so hey i dont mind
I worked in a hospital for years. Every year a nurse would come to the offices and give us our shots right at our desks, lol.

I got stitches without a poke.
You can buy a stitch stapler. Technically is used for clothes but I wouldn't see how it couldn't be used on cuts either. Technically stitches are not that hard except are lot more painful because of no lidocaine.

I was at the gynecologist at a regular appointment and he was just like "you want a free flu shot?" and I was like "hell yeah"

Your body is your temple people
@@devin7703From your response, it sounds as though you don't get vaccinated? Just don't give a shit what happens to "your temple", huh? Temple is going to feel like an outhouse WHEN you get the flu.
@@devin7703 Right? Why should I let a foreign germ ruin my temple when doctors have worked for years on a vaccine so me or someone I love with lung problems end up in the hospital?

The last one who did it was a tiny old lady with the thickest southern accent I'd ever heard. That was the only time I ever saw her in that hospital, which was a shame bc she was so damn sweet. That's also the first time in my life I didn't feel the needle stick. Was a blessing.
The experienced ones can often give a painless stick.
Those tiny old ladies can be the best. I needed an IV line placed and nobody was finding a vein. The nurses got frustrated and somebody said, "We need Pearl". In shuffles Pearl and she gets it first try 😂
@@lynnebucher6537 Literally though! I got a covid shot recently and the old lady back in shots area just gave it to me quick and easy, no pain.
We used to do ours while we were having lunch. We'd just roll up our sleeves and keep eating, while the nurse comes around and have us one by one

It’s actually flu a and b. A couple strains such as swine or bird depending on the year and the last years most prevalent strain. It’s very simple. Everytime I opened a multi dose vial at work I would read the package insert which explicitly statuses to the tee exactly what is contained inside said vial. Losers say I don’t know. Professional say I’ll find out!
was in the hospital for days, watching these videos made me feel so much better thank you
Austin's "huh" slayed me!😂😂😂
When I worked in a hospital lab, they would come around and stick us while we were working on the bench. Totally normal
Currently in school. We train on injections on each other like 3 to 5 times a month. Pretty use to it by now
As a fellow lab person, can concur. xD
@Rica Rya They keep track of who gets it at my hospital. If you are allergic you have to mask up at all times. If you aren't allergic and you don't get it you're fired.
God that would be convenient
Aw, I wish we did that at the hospital I did my internship at too. Definitely would've made the day more interesting.
“Here is a sticker for your badge” 🤣 facts
True story! They give you a sticker for your badge FOR REALS! 🥰🤣
They were handing out free pens one year. Highest flu shot rate ever!!

That reminds me. I need to check if my shots are up to date.
Yep 100%
My ex, my son's father, is terrified of needles and doctors. To the point where being there for me to give birth was incredibly anxiety inducing for him. He seriously has a fear of being randomly stabbed with meds or something. Like we don't even get the good shit, what makes you think they're going to just give it away to a random stranger?!
Well a lot of people have fears, they're often irrational. I hate needles. I'm scared of them and doctors. I kinda wish I haven't reminded my mum about some shot I missed when I was 18. Also for some reason I often feel different in hospitals. The air seems to smeel different. But idk when I start to faint, I become more sensitive to the smell for a moment before I pass out. It's weird because when I pass out, I first feel hot and dizzy, then I can't see anymore. Later I can't feel anymore. And the hearing goes away slowly. From hearing worlds sorta from a distance to not understanding them to kinda ringing in the ears. So idk why, for a moment, I'm more sensitive to the smell, only to lose all of my senses in a matter of a few seconds.
im terrified of needles too. i have to tell the medical staff to not tell me anything and not let me see the needle. 😅
I'm not scared of doctors or the dentist like a lot of people but I am slightly afraid of needles and can't get a shot without flinching. Not as bad as my dad though. My dad searched far and wide for a dentist that would put him to sleep when working on his cavities instead of a needle to numb his mouth. Idk why. My dad had 2 sleeves of tattoos and multiple others so it seems weird that a thin, tiny needle would do him in like that.
@@veni5126 Fears are usually irrational. For me, I just can't get the idea out of my head that if I flinch or twitch at the wrong moment, the needle will break off under my skin or, worse, shatter. Objectively I know that is absurdly unlikely, but my stupid brain warns me about it every single time I face a hypodermic needle. It's not so bad that I can't hold still and let it happen, but the idea is *there* in my head and will not go away.
When I was a teenager, I confessed this to my family doctor. He promptly responded, "Oh, I've only ever seen that happen once." Haha. Very funny, doc.
Your ex is a fkn baby.
I gave a flu shot to a 12 year old last weekend. He was kind of amazed at how small the dose is since he gets allergy shots which are way more fluid. I told him some grownups still get freaked out when I give them the shots and the little champ just laughed at that. Favorite patient all day.
Kids just go with the flow. Love kids
I started getting 3 shots every 2 weeks starting around that age. That shut me up pretty quick about having to get one shot every year.
And just think about diabetics, needing multiple shots per day!
@@phillyphakename1255I will say the needles a diabetic has to use are about 10x smaller, but those finger sticks suck! There is no reason we should be using kits that still take so much blood you need to use a bigger needle to poke your finger than give the insulin!
Kids are incredible! Our daughter was in treatment for stage 4 high risk cancer and she LOVES her doctors!!! ❤
Don't give the myocarditis shot tho. And if u know which one I'm referring to, that's exactly my point.
"do want one?"

I've been trying to get a flu shot for the past three years. The answer is always the same, "sorry, we are out, try again next week".

To a reputable tattoo artist, yes that artist is going to know what is in the ink they are using and will happily tell them.
@@anna-lisaansardi9419 because it is completely different. While the flu shot is intramuscular, tattoo needles go to the dermis layer of the skin. Two completely different places and feelings.
"Do you know what's in it?"
I don't know what there is in most of the stuff I eat, or the air I breath ...
But I know that I don't want the flu ...
The flu isn't hat bad lol our bodies are made to fight it
You'll most likely survive the flu. All too many aren't surviving the poison prick.
But hey, you do what you gotta do.
I DO know at least some of what's in it, and that's why it ain't hannin. That...and I've had only 3 quaxx in my long life, last in 1987. You've been brainwashed into thinking that you need it and you don't.
Lol, u get it from the shot
A friend of mine has 3 kids and used to take them in for the flu shot every year, but every year they all 3 got the flu. They stopped getting them the flu shot and they stopped getting the flu. They just make a somewhat educated guess on what flu strains are going to go around, if they're wrong then the shot doesn't help. I rarely go to the doctor (which may bite me in the butt at some point), if you go for every little thing and get antibiotics regularly then your immune system will be weak. If you let your immune system do what is supposed to then it will be stronger and you won't get sick as often. As a teen (20+ years ago) I was on an antibiotic for acne, after I stopped taking it, it seemed like I constantly had a bit of a cold for a couple of years.
@@dustintunis9347 I had a few nurse friends tell me that when I got deathly sick for 2 solid weeks after a flu shot 2 years in a row, that the flu vax didn’t contribute to my sickness, I decided to not get that vaccine anymore. I’ve had the flu only twice in the last 17 years and I’ll gladly take those odds. I do appreciate nurses, teachers and police officers who do get it bc their exposure to others is extremely high.
I'm glad it makes you feel better! I swore when I got out of the Army I was never getting another one because I'd be down for a month after it ever single time!
The military gives you way more serious stuff. But my job requires some serious shit like MMR and TDAP, which leaves you unable to use that arm for a couple of days. The flu vac is nothing like that.
@@bcaye Man I hate the TDAP shot. My arm gets so sore afterwards lol. Good thing I only gotta take it every 10 years lol
My son had a severe reaction to a flu shot when he was in the Marine Corps. He was unconscious for 3 days, his roommate was out of town. When he didn’t show up for work on Mon they found him and took him to the hospital. Never had to get another vaccine again.

I used to work supply at a hospital, the white coats (nursing students) would roll up on you out of nowhere (a group, with a cart) and ask to stick you, we would call it a drive by.
I love that! That sounds so funny/cute
Lol I openly volunteer for target practice everytime I see a student nurse around. I’m a phlebotomist and I know my veins pretty well, but I also know they’re tricky to anyone inexperienced. Who better to stick than a willing learning experience

I'm laughing about how they just come to you with the shot and have your sticker ready, the convenience of getting shots at work and having them kept track of for you is great
I work in a pharmacy. One of my pharmacist has decided that I am her designated pincushion. When she needs expanded immunizations to meet her quota she loves to check my profile to see if I'm eligible for immunizations. I love her so much!
@@JadeSama that's a solid symbiotic relationship right there 🤣
The convience of having a huge supply of people willing to get unlimited shots without ever questioning the necessity or legitimacy of said shots is how Pharma made $90 Billion off of Covid shots alone in 2022. No one thinks anymore and that's great for big business and globalism
@@renaldamarkos7913 I should clarify that for me personally, I know which shots my pharmacist gives me and why. I joke about being a pincushion but I am actually educated enough to know about the shots that I'm being given. While that's not necessarily true of some people, a good chunk of us who work in high-risk fields generally feel the benefit far outweighs the risk. I didn't have the option of quitting my job when all this started and if I had brought it home it very likely would have killed my mother and I never would have forgiven myself. I've seen heavily tattooed people use that same excuse not to donate blood!

it's a lame excuse if it's to justify not getting a vaccine, but some people are scared of syringe needles and not tattoo needles! tattoo dont even pierce the skin all the way trough, syringes go way deeper
I can speak as someone who has a phobia of needles. Getting a tattoo is much different. It doesn't go as deep.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti vax, I'd just rather get a full sleeve tattoo than my blood drawn or a shot because my fear is just that bad. It's irrational, sure, but I live with it. I still get my shots and man is that not fun.

Last time i missed it when she came to my ward so i had to chase her to the next ward, you literally just go "hey can you jab me" and 30 seconds later you're back on your ward lmao.
You literally have to hunt down the people giving the shots if you don’t. I was delivering meds to one of the emergency units and got mine done by a nurse down there real quick before I went to deliver to another unit.
If I were the patient I'd likely puke or pass out. I can't handle needles.
My place of work has a flu shot clinic every year for us. We literally stand in the hall outside the admin assistant's office while the pharmacist from across the street jabs us. And the company owner brings her dog in so you get to pet him when you're done. 🤣 They also set up the COVID vaccinations for us. I don't always like my job, but it is a place where they take good care of employees.

Do you treat your own animals when they're sick? Some things require years of school or experience. Thinking you know better than a literal professional is delusional and, quite frankly, sad.
Quickest flu shot I’ve ever seen
This is efficiency
I got my flu shot and I didn't cry 😂
The most unrealistic thing here is how casual and quick getting the flu shot is
If you work in a hospital, it does happen that way
In a hospital yeah. I have ordered my coffee, got my flu shot, grabbed my coffee and finished my break. No big deal.
Honestly if they did this at my hospital that would be so convenient. Sometimes it’s hard to get away to get one at their designated sites
I went to the doctor yesterday for a check up. She offered me a free flu shot in the appointment and I was like, “Sure, go for it” Her face turn to horror and she stared at me for a few seconds before asking again. I said yes again. She said that she was surprised by my nonchalant because most either get scared and cover their arms while saying no or nervously say yes then scream before she puts the needle in.
I’ve had so many needles stuck into my body from a ridiculous amount of blood tests, I’m kinda immune at this point.
Lol, yeah. You get over a few operations and other reasons for ER visits and hospitalizations, and a Covid or flu vaccine is no big deal anymore.
Yep, I've definitely been much more nonchalant about needles now that I'm a mom. All those blood tests they do really help you get over it!
Lol. That’s how I got got caught up on my tetanus shot 10 years ago. Might as well😅 it’s time now.
Really? I thought fear of needles wasn't that common. Sure they're not pleasant but I'd choose 20 needles over a single papercut.
@@charmio especially since shots are usually purposefully out of the way while paper cuts are in areas you use constantly
I got my flu shot today, It didn’t hurt at all. I thought it would honestly.
I got sick with flu like symptoms after the flu shot :( never again
The more relaxed your arm is the less it hurts. A tense arm muscle is like having a body guard at a door.
Patient: I'm just gonna go home and take some Tylenol.
Rich: do you know what's in Tylenol?
Patient: 🤔🤔😑
Natural selection 😊✨
I get horribly sick every time I've had a flu shot in the past. (5x). I refuse to get one anymore.
