I read about girls in Japan who would traditionally dive for pearl oysters. They are referred to as "Ama." That could make a cute name for her. Or maybe "Biwa" after the freshwater pearls from Lake Biwi. She's my new favorite doll you've made. 💖

I love this idea for a mermaid. When I was a kid, my mum told me that mermaids were born from pearls so this is kind of like a childhood dream coming true. Her and Tritannus look really cute together BTW. Their colour pallets match nicely ❤. As for names, the only thing that I could think of is Iri, short for iridescent which is what her skin reminds me of
She's absolutely gorgeous! I was a little bit worried about how the wavy lines would look, but they came out perfectly.

That's indeed the most unconventional mermaid I've ever seen, would never have thought about clams to make a mermaid! But you did a wonderful job at that, this lady is stunning! As for a name, all my sleep-deprived brain could think of right now is Clamentine, so that it's a pun on "clam" and the name Clementine...

Since she's attatched to the shell, I can imagine her getting in fetal position, closing the upper lid and sleeping in her shell as well 🐚
I'm not a doll customizer or a crafter, but I'm an artist, so I've also done quite a few mermaid pieces for this Mermay, such as a sea ghost, a random mermaid, an airmaid (an open species by UnknownSpy), a Capricorn mermaid, an octopus mermaid, a jellyfish mermaid princess, a narwhale mermaid, an anglerfish mermaid, an electric eel mermaid and an axolotl merboy, as well as some mergirls, like a goldnixie warrior, a sea angel and a pointy-finned mergirl princess ^^
I absolutely love this doll! So unique! Maybe her name could be some variation of Venus? She reminds me of that painting and I think it suits her!

A mermaid design that I stumbled upon when I was but a wee child was of an eel mermaid.
Warning: Lil dark and spooky!!!
The eels had their arms removed and and scars down their faces so only one eye was still able to open.
If I was to mad science a mermaid I'd start with a base of a mer with an eel tail, fuse the arms down the torso and add a graft of lion fish spikes down the back.
I'd love to see a mermaid mix using a seahorse. (Seahorses are super fascinating.)

I was wondering if you guys would do something for Mer-May. Yay! She's definitely unique. As for unconventional mixing...the first thing that came to mind was a centaur mermaid. Human torso, horse body, including forelegs, but the hind legs are a fish tail. And I'm picturing him as a Shire-orca.

Rhode is the name of a sea goddess/nymph in Greek mythology! She was one of the daughters of Poseidon

Rill means a small steam of water, plus pearl and clams can be found in fresh water as well as salt. Adding to the unconventional theme with a fresh water mermaid.

That's probably the most original take on a mermaid-like creature I've ever seen, not gonna lie. A "pearlmaid" it's the kind of thing I would've NEVER thought of, not even in a thousand years, and you guys made it work! Kudos
About naming her, considering her marbled skin (very "planetary-esque"), unusual beauty, intricated hairstyling, pearls and the whole coming out of a shell thing... What if her name was "Venus", as a nod not only to the planet itself, but also to the Roman goddess of love, beauty, sex, fertility, motherhood and all that?
She could also be named "Aphrodite", of course, but... You get my drift 😂😂😂

I really love your merfolk creations and as far as hybrids go I have always loved the fantastical...Hippocampus or Hippocampi (plural form) are half horse and half fish; their head, front legs and upper torso are equine with fish scales to help propel them through the water and increase turning speed and their lower half is all fish...and they are faster then mermaids, just like land equines are, compared to us.
She’s beautiful. I love her colours and patterns. As a kid who loved any toy that had a fantasy/mythical theme, I didn’t really like any of the mermaid dolls cause they all looked the same. Human torso + fish tail. Boring. This would’ve been my dream toy. Awesome work. As for names, what about Akoya (a type of pearl), Tahiti (Tahitian pearl), Keshi (a type of Baroque pearl), Pinctada (south sea pearls) or Corteza (Cortez pearls).

I think that first shell came out fine. Shells often seem to have lines that are more-or-less straight on them, just maybe directed toward the center at the base of them. I think they look fine.

Those doll heads are seriously ridiculously big in size compared to the body lol but I can see why high school of the dead and bratz dolls are popular for doll customization
This definitely the most unconventional and creative concept you ever thought for merfolk!! Amazing. As for merfolk hybrid Ideas, I would love to see someone do a selkie-inspired mermay doll, with a seal-fins or, alternative, make a merfolk whose tail and fins are inspired by butterflies along with a galactic theme. That would be a great idea.

Your photo group shots of all the mermaid dolls you made are amazing. I love group photo shots with the same theme. For names, I thought of Pearletta, Mariscola (mixed in Portuguese word Marisco=clam), Aphrodite, Krona, Malz, Blissy, Blysc (part of a polish word for shiny), Rozkosz, and maybe more. Thought of combining words relating to clam, pearl, shiny, and bliss might help.
When you realize that Enchanterium takes breaks from being hella creative to go places and be hella smart too. When I grow up I wanna be half that cool.

I was thinking maybe naming her Aphrodite? Based on the painting where Aphrodite lands to shore in a clamshell but you can also try to come up with a name that references the goddess herself if you don't want to name her directly after the Greek Goddess :)
I would love to see a Sea Monster of sorts for maybe October or just any time of the year you feel like doing something on the more scary side.

All of your mermaids look so precious together! The only name I can think of is Coral for her, but that doesn't feel very inspired. I think a harpy/mermaid would be pretty cool! Taking a creature from the sky and smashing it together with a creature from the ocean. Long, glossy wing arms and a scaley tail!

as for the match-up, i’ve always been a fan of octopus/squid/jellyfish mermaids but for a more (sorta) original idea-SEA SLUG MERMAID! because of their beautiful colors and variations
I think a fun mix would be an angler fish and an eel. So an eel tail, a human torso and face, and one of those cute little lantern lures on the forehead!
