I can't believe that this video is from 2014. I haven't even used lattice multiplication since I was in middle school back in the mid-late 2000s. I can see myself in my old bedroom, sitting at my writing desk by the window, and doing large number lattice multiplication for fun! Such vivid memories that were long forgotten.
It seems like the purpose of this would to simplify the multiplication and give visual support for it. Not a bad little system, it's like giving a visual form to doing long multiplication in your head.
Back in 5th grade, I was taught this, and never understood it. Now I came to this video, and I thought to myself, "Why was this confusing back then? Was I an ignorant bastard?"
Please answer. I've been behind on polynomials at school and I have no idea how to do it. First, what is x and what is a polynomial. I still don't understand the term 'term'. :p
Lauren Croidge Polynomials are funcions, that assign a value y to every possible value for x. The numbers are assinged by using rules that are described by polynomials. For example y=x² assigns the square of a number to the original number. Plotting this gives you a graph, in this case a parabola.
Omg ur a life saver! I just needed to get it explained again!

Helped me in my exam thank you

Will this also work for negative numbers ?
For negative numbers ,just multiply the numbers normally as shown in the video ,at the end put the negative sign before your final answer
This is my favourite method :)
Me too David Trambusti!!!
Wow this is so easy thx
Still did not get it correct. I keep getting a lesser answer than the actual answer.
